To EL,
I think it will be great to clarify it to your Korean friends that OPM or Original Pilipino Music doesn't only refer to Filipino songs of the past decades. And that OPM pertains to any song that is written and produced by a Filipino whether it be in Tagalog or English and regardless of the genre. I can't help but cringe when they say that it doesn't sound like OPM everytime they watched and listened to a well produced music video or a non ballad type of song. 😅 Anyways more power to your channel. I hope you continue to share knowledge about Filipino music to your Korean friends. 😊

@@jenwynlaluna7305 Hello po~ It's more on the outcome of the reaction video as to why we don't show live reactions! 😖 Usually live performances (no matter the TH-cam channel) have the same reactions. "Wow she/he sings so well!," and "Oh! They're so talented." We're not shading any other react channels but we do feel like some (emphasis on some) videos like these end up getting a lot of views, and once they gain a following, they repeat the process just to please the crowd and earn from them (I'm really not pointing at any channel po!!!). The Koreans are well aware of how great or talented Filipinos are as singers since they live in Manila, and even some of them work very closely with the Philippine entertainment industry. But please remember this, as Filipinos, we shouldn't need a reaction video made to affirm that. Be secure, and love who you love because you love them and not because others said so.
The "Pick Me" MVs of the Produce series (aside from Produce X) are the closest we've gone to showing a live video. But technically it isn't live, everything was pre-recorded like a music video, plus I do believe that they are indeed MVs based on their TH-cam titles. The shock factor is what made those videos interesting, but as you might've noticed, we stopped after Produce 48 since it's all technically the same reactions already. "Wow ang dami nila," "Ay meron pa?!," "Ang Pogi/Ganda nila!" those are what we're trying to avoid since it's what many are doing already.
Music video reactions on the other hand are different. There's so much more to see, appreciate and to try understanding/to learn when watching them especially when you don't have subtitles on while viewing them. Through music videos, the people reacting on our Koreans React to OPM, and Filipinos React to K-pop series give real and raw reactions that don't just praise the artists. Through MVs, we can appreciate, understand, and critique (if the need be) while learning new things about another culture~ 💜

Manila Grey are based in Canada. They're both Filipino-Canadian, but they are geared towards the international market, not OPM. They're really good though. Not rap, but modern R&B. The same genre as The Weeknd or yeah, Khalid.
