A song that alludes to their upcoming Second General Election; the election which will determine the next generation of MNL48! Some people bashing MNL48 because of their voice. They don't know that it takes a skill to shift their into innocent and angel like voice to fit with their group's concept. They are great vocalists, especially when singing Filipino accent. Foreign fans of 48 groups call them VOCALS48
I mean I really wanna support them because they're our first idol group but the problem is their songs is not my cup of tea. Hopefully someday they publish a song that I would like.
I'm glad you that actually mentioned that! J-pop and AKB48 songs don't really appeal to everyone (and that's a fact!) to the point that some people find it really unique and different than your average pop songs from the West/Korea. That was one of the things that popped into my mind back when I saw the first few "MNL48 Start" billboards along EDSA when they were just about to start auditions. I wondered if Filipinos would like the AKB48 sound since when I heard it for the first time back in 2011 or 2012 (can't really recall when), it really took a while for me to actually appreciate it. AKB48 does have other sounds though, I guess we'll both have to wait and see if the Philippines prefers those in the future.
they can have there own song but they need the approval of AKS.Inc or Akimoto Yasushi the producer of AKB48....there song is Good because many of akb48 song has a deep meaning and inspirational...i think mnl48 can start the new chapter of OPM we always hear a love song....we need something new...

@@akkunzero well, i dont specifically like a certain genre. In fact I actually have some Anime OST's that i like. I also listen to many other genres. (pop, rock, hiphop, edm, etc.) Im pretty broad when it comes to music. If I like it, I like it, I dont look to the genre at all. but with their songs(that i've only heard), they havent got me yet.

But then I realized that I need to appreciate more since my passion is music and I need to study and study stuffs etc. This MNL48 song is really new and maybe, like you said, this haven't got you yet but I'm sure, someday it will. Actually their songs are far way better in the PH mainstream today.

I totally agree with you. The problem in our country, is madaming so called "music elitists" and mga bandwagon sa lahat ng bagay especially on the hate bandwagon, it really irks me most of the time 🙄
It's both quite saddening and heartwarming at the same time that whenever MNL48 releases something, I see that citizens from Indonesia appreciates them the most. At least these girls get lots of love from them but they deserve so much more.
I'm not a fan but I've seen them from the very beginning and saw how much they improved from then until now. It proves that they're serious, hardworking and passionate in what they're doing, shutting down toxic Filipinos claims na "pabebe lang sila"
Tbh, the reason why I keep up with MNL from time to time is because of Sheki 😅 she's my former schoolmate and we both belonged to performing clubs (Me in Glee Club and Sheki in Hiblang Sinag/Theatre Club) in our school and sometimes our clubs would work together so I've worked with her a couple of times. She's absolutely amazing since then. She's the star and pride of that Hiblang Sinag and her batch year.

True. Im already 33 and mostly like opm ballads esp. Regine V and only a listener of kpops songs if I know the group mostly the ones I grew up with like 2in1 but when I hear MNL48 ans SB19 I said why did I feel so proud and started to follow the group I have my biases but overall I love both. Hopefullt pinoys give their support to these groups coz its a shame that people from other counties appreciate them more than we do.

Yup~ thank you for clarifying! However, we did use the term "graduation" since that's what the Korean Idol system uses, and we thought that our Korean friends might understand it easier that way. Hope it didn't confuse anyone though! 😅
Well once, for MNL48, it actually was, during the 2nd general elections, MNL48 members that didn't rank 48 or above were all forced to graduate, it was called a death sousenkyou, although most of the popular members like Ella Mae Amat were able to return but most Less known members like Jewel and Sha were not able to return, although most of the time, it isn't a graduation

I think the general election that can end a generation is only in mnl48 cuz other 48 group can add generation without removing the member unless the member left by themself .
General election is where a member can have a chance to be a front member in 48 group but for some reason in mnl48 in the election where they will remove and add a new member now im confused with mnl48 concept since ive been a fan of the 48 group since 2010

I actually know this would happen and was prepared for it. Or so I thought. I’ve been a fan of jpop groups since a long time ago esp. AKB48 so I know their system and accepted it. What I can’t accept is that the MNL48 girls will be forced to graduate on the spot. Unlike the original 48G system. Where they can choose when to graduate.
I’ve seen fans feeling like it’s their fault if their oshis can’t rank. It’s because there will be no next time unlike before.
So everyone’s pretty desperate right now. Idk what the management is thinking. Or if they even are thinking.

MNL48 have too many member in the 1st gen so when the general election come the 1st gen and 2nd gen where fighting for their "chair", other sister 1st gen member where not too much not even 40+ member so they can add new generation whitout removing some 1st gen sorry my bad english

The girl reactors use hand gestures when they speak. I think they adapt to some of the Filipino culture/traditions.
A lot of people do it not only Filipinos, The gesture is used to express yourself more and helps to improve your explanation for a more clearer use of words. That's what my psychological professor said

I believe that Filipino Idol System would be worth a try. So many kpop stans are Filipinos, and I think will eventually like to have our own idol system here in the Philippines. The problem is that, standards are too high for them. This is because on the past few years, there are some Filipino groups who debuted and are not well accepted by the mass, due to lack of training, talents and trying to copy or imitate KPOP groups as well. But I think with the right management similar to those in Korea or Japan, PPOP idol group would be successful in the Philippines.
And I think it's already starting. There are a few established PPOP groups now like MNL48, Clover, 4th Impact, FirstOne, PHP and SB19. SB19 have caught the attention of many Filipino kpop stans due to their skills and talents. They are trained under a Korean Entertainment and have undergone serious idol training. Other groups under a Kpop Company are Clover, PHP, and FirstOne (I think, not sure), which is the current trend now. And we know MNL48 is adapting JPOP, which is similar management to those in Japan. If this goes on, and if all group would give good skills and talents and would be accepted by the majority, there would be eventually more groups that will debut and would be a great competition and would hopefully start the rise of the PPOP idol industry.

They sounds japanese, because they use japanese accent, I clearly hear it with the syllables with letter "u"
When the search is started here in the Philippines, I really curious what they are sounds like when they sing the songs of AKB48. Because most of the Pilipina, when I heard them singing, they has the full voice even the kids here who is pro in singing, can sing with a full voice. I mean, not like of AKB48 (sometimes kpop) which has cute voice.
When they release their mvs, its not dissapointing, and I find out, that some of the members has that kind of voice, and some has a full voice, and sounds that their MV is autotuned, its sounds pitchy than their original voice. But it doesn't mean Im disagree they are vocal queens. I don't know if "full voice" is the right term, what I mean is, the voice is larger and not sounds cute or babyish, just like AKB48, plus I still heard somehow the way how the full voice sings, it is sounds has a power, syncopation, pabigla(I don't know in english😂) attack... Hahaha Im not sure if the term I used is right. But you clearly hear what Im saying when you listen to "Sheki" the vocal queen. Because of that she can used different techniques in singing. But not just her, Sela is sounds babyish, but still she has good skills in singing. I found it when I listen to their non AKB48 song in Mix.
My conclusion is the only Filipino in their music is the translated lyrics. As a country we have our own techniques and standards, just like kpop and jpop, and Im glad that this girls shows up us there true voice and singing skills, just like what they did when they sang 365 eroplanong papel in China.So they hear Philippines singing technique.
No hate, Im not a hater, because honestly Im always prepared listening to jpop, but I have a respect on my own countries singing technique, because that is our culture in terms of singing, and I hope as fandom of kpop and jpop grew larger here, our culture will not vanished.

Why do you care how Koreans react? I don't see any Canadian reaction, Australian reaction or Thai reaction. I think it's pathetic that Filipinos seek the approval of Koreans. Have some pride and be your own people.

Filipinos ancestors were their own East Asian Tribe closely related & in between Indo Chinese (Thai & indonesians ancestors) & Indo Malayan. And there are the Austroesian/Aborigine migrants (The AETA PEOPLE) which is why there are many dark brown Filipinos. They have reached across the southeast Asia not just in Philippines where they still have a community.
