I added some washers between the hoop and the hoop arms and it doesn’t flag anymore! In lieu of needing to clamp every time. Super helpful video, man. Thanks!
That's a great idea! I think the people over at Mighty Hoops have a few variations of the arms, some which have a slight bend upward to avoid it, but washers is a super smart & easy way to fix it too!
The actual version is a Merrow stitch which is done on Merrow branded machines. They can be very expensive and only do one thing but they do it very well. To replicate it on the embroidery machine, I call it a faux or fake merrow edge since it's not really the same thing but looks very similar.
On the Melco, I have it automatically upload to a shared folder that the computer connected to the Melco has access to. For other machines, you will need to use a USB drive to transfer the file from the computer to the embroidery machine.

You can make a patch with two layers so if you only embroider the front then layer it and finish with the border, you will not see the stitches on the back!

how do you download the file into your software to create that marrow stitch ?
How do you attach an iron on backing if the back of the patch is plastic? That’s so much cheaper than stabilizers. Genius.
When you're done, just remove the plastic! It should be pretty easy to tear away, then you can add the iron-on backing directly to the fabric.

For this video, I am using Twilly (Tackle Twill) from Gunold!
