Embroidering a DOLLAR to my HOODIE!
It’s been a while! This video was recorded more than a year ago, should I do a follow up on how the hoodie has held up over time of regular washing and drying cycles?

3 Tips to STOP Breaking Needles on Trucker (Structured) Hats | Bonus Tips Included!
How wide and long are those tag?
Its around 1.25" tall x 5.5" wide
I missed the cost to digitize the logo and where it factors in.
Digitizing can range. For small logos, it can be around $10-30. Larger ones like full fronts or backs can be $40+. In my opinion, its worth paying more for a reputable digitizer that does quality work so you don't have file issues
great video, my prints are coming out with a little shine, is that normal? almost a stickiness to it too...any help?
Try double pressing with a top sheet. I prefer a wax paper but I've seen some people press with a shirt on top to give the print texture and help remove any shine.
Did the U in audio move while stitching or is it supposed to look that way? Baseline of U is higher than other letters.
Its supposed to be like that, part of the design
Thank you for the video. I’m new to embroidery and this comparison really helped me a lot.
So good to hear! Welcome to the embroidery world!
you could use a heat gun to melt the bits showing tho
Interesting you did not mention RG vs FFG/SES and nothing about starting gram force units for bobbin.
3:06 others call this a placement stitch. Sure glad I picked up on using clamps to dampen the hoop bounce. Nice idea.
I'll stick with Tackle-Twill. The plastic drop cloth works fine for me too.
Twill is the classic for sure. I saw this product at a show and never heard about it so I wanted to test it out. It is problematic though if the design has lots of stitches since it could begin to tear on the inside
Hella clean what’s the IG
Never got the IG from the client 😭
Hi I have a different heat press, top heat only, tried pressing a PVC patch for 30 secs at 325 degrees. Patch melted and did not adhere to the hat... any suggestions what to try?
I've heard some people have success with pre-pressing the hat so the surface touching the adhesive is warmed up which would help when pressing the top as well. Alternatively, you could try to press the top down so the bottom rubber piece heats up to a decent temperature then trying to press it!
Defacing money is only a crime if done to alter the apparent value (like, if you tried to turn it into a 100 dollar bill, then it would be illegal, so according to the people i watch do it, its legal (also the explanation that ive seen on those penny presses at zoos that press a design into a penny)
Yeah guess I didn't think about those penny machines. Little problematic for my next video on how to alter a $1 into a $100 bill 😣🤣
Hello sir. Which foam do you use to protect the patch?
The foam is sold by Stahls! www.stahls.com/foam-cover-pads
Dope! Have been binge watching all your videos
Is this method also recommended for heat transfer embroidery patches also ? This is my first attempt in making beanies
Yes! Definitely do some tests before to really dial in your settings first
What kind of transfers did you use and where can I get them ?
They are from Stahls!! These are their FlexStyle patch but they also have PVC and embroidery
Hi. How many shirts have you printed so far? Is the print head still in good condition? And while using the printer, what items have you changed besides ink? - from Malaysia
I have actually since sold the machine but I was at around 8k prints with pretty much zero issue. Nothing needing changed other than the regular maintenance such as the head cap station and wipe.
@@LovesBranding what did you replace it with?
You can usexa sharpie to colour white bobbin if you want a coloured tag . Eg purple or pink. Is it just thick plastic.
Great Idea!
Very thorough video. Thank you!
You're most welcome, thanks for watching!
What are your thoughts on the f2270?
I'm sure its a quality machine. I have not used it but I believe the F2100 is a powerhouse of a machine and the price point since its an 'old' machine, is fantastic. Unfortunately I bought it when it was new and lost a lot of money :o
I wanna buy an embroidery machine for my room just for fun
I would recommend a Brother PE800! It is limiting on the size but definitely a good machine to get you started :)
Do you have any videos on how to do text or images front and back of the jet tag?
I don't :/ only made two videos on this I believe
Does this only work with PVC patches? Will it work with woven patches?
It should work for most heat press items that have some thickness. I couldn't get transfers to work this way because it requires more pressure and the extra pressure would warp the beanie-
bro what is the machine name and where can I get it?
Melco embroidery machines! I bought mine second hand but they do sell them directly melco.com!
Does the Rip software work with Macs?
It does!
Thanks for asking all of my questions I never asked..LOL I just subscribed too
Glad I could help! I'm always happy to see new subscribers!
do you do the placement stitch on the software or does your machine do it? If so how do I do the placement. I have had a patch done for me and I asked to do a placement stitch and they did not do it.
I wrote too quick. YOu answered my question
Glad to help :)
grazie molto
When i print large black lettering, after pressing it on clothing some of it rubs off.
Sometimes I like to let the heat press hover over a print before pressing. Or you can let it sit on the side a bit before pressing. A Teflon sheet or wax sheet helps prevent the ink from sticking off when pressing too
What size needle are you using?
Usually 75/11 for almost everything
Hiii...Thank you so much! 🎉where did you say you got your patch from? Please😊
Stahls'!!!
I dont imagine 20 years of burning the plastic on the patches will be good for the body. There has to be a better way than burning.
The optimal option is a laser cutter but either way, good ventilation is key
I have a macbook pro and literally can not find this for the life of me...any help?
Haven't seen anybody have success with this on a Mac :/
Thanks for the tips in the video. I'm so frustrated. My thread keeps breaking and even though the design looks good on the screen when I start to stitch it on the hat the lettering is aweful. It is constantly messing up and the letters are not smooth. Any recommendations. I will look at slowing the machine down but I have already messed up two hats. :(
Hats are a pain for sure. If you're still having issues with these tricks, it could be something more complex like the timing could be slightly off or the hoop is too high off of the needle plate. Both of these can cause the needle to break. If the timing is off, it may not be as noticeable on flats but can be worse on caps. Also, if the cap frame is too high from the needle plate, there can be excess deflection causing the needle to crash and break. Can be different for all machines but possibly worth looking into! Best of luck-
Who did you use for digitizing for that hat design?
For this one I used Dream Digitizing!
What is the density of the design file?
Just default density. I don't remember this one exactly, but I kept it the same as for shirts. It could have been a little more dense to help fill but they still came out great!
how do you download the file into your software to create that marrow stitch ?
after downloading the file for the marrow edge how do you download it into your software and use the stitch?
On the Melco, I have it automatically upload to a shared folder that the computer connected to the Melco has access to. For other machines, you will need to use a USB drive to transfer the file from the computer to the embroidery machine.
What abot thickness
Stand 40 weight thread!
@@LovesBranding 0.40?
@@LovesBranding and how i can get it the sanme material
what stitch was that please.colin,uk
The actual version is a Merrow stitch which is done on Merrow branded machines. They can be very expensive and only do one thing but they do it very well. To replicate it on the embroidery machine, I call it a faux or fake merrow edge since it's not really the same thing but looks very similar.
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you so much
You're most welcome. Thanks for watching :)
What material is the logo?
I think its PVC!
What is your tension settings please?
I forget on this one, but I do show the Actifeed settings in some of my other videos!
Hi, thanks for awesome videos and the one you made about EMT 16+ I almost bought a used Emp) 16+ but after watching yours I decided against it now I am debating between bravo and EMT 16 X and I was wondering if there’s a way we can chat about it I don’t make an expensive mistake. Thank you.
The EMT16X is a goat! But so is the Bravo. The main difference is the limitations. I'm not entirely sure of the Bravo X since it is different than the Bravo I have. If you want to make sure you can do pretty much everything and anything, EMT16X is the way to go. The sew field and hoop sizes are typically smaller on the Bravo. In my opinion, if you are looking to spend that much, go ahead and get the EXT16X so you don't have to worry about these things.
How about the settings?
Settings matter but vary between different machines. These tricks work for most machines!
@@LovesBranding I understand that. I have the same machine you do. That is why I asked.
@@jacquelinerojas1722 I've since sold the Melco and got a Barudan!
It worked great! Thank you very much
Great to hear, glad it helped!
Looks like a 3D chain stitch. It gives a “welded” vibe
Thanks for sharing this technique! It worked great for me.
Great to hear!
