    Amazing video Mr. Valuation. You have been telling us for the last year and a half that all of these stocks would come down to reality once inflation started to rise. The chickens 🐓 have come home to roost 👍🏼🙌🏽🙏🏼👏❤️Thank you!

    Great review of some interesting companies! I'm going to focus on growth in the upcoming months and companies, which have had bad time as of lately - Meta, Paypal and some other companies which are great compounders, but news have been abysmal.

    Also with APD you shorten the grapgh to 10 year it has a better margin of safety so whats better to use ?

      Alex: FAST Graphs are the “ fundamentals analyzer software tool” they are designed to think with and analyze fundamental data. They are very powerful in that they provide the flexibility to analyze different time frames. Furthermore, valuation and growth are functionally related. When you change time frames the tool automatically recalculates the growth over that time frame.
      The benefit of the long-term graphs is that you get a long-term perspective of how well the company’s been managed. However, growth rates are dynamic and change. From a decision point of view, the more recent historical time frames are technically (as a general rule) the most important. However, forecast data is even more important from the perspective that you can only invest in the future and not the past. So as your changing time frames note the changes in growth rate (the green rectangle in the FAST Facts box). Different growth rates effectively change the valuation perspective.
      Regarding your 2nd question, the answer is it depends on the company. Some companies have routinely commanded a premium valuation while others typically command a lower valuation. Once again, the historical graph provides a perspective of which makes more sense to rely upon. With some companies the blue line provides a better insight and vice versa with other companies. Once again, this is a powerful tool to think with. In this regard it does not dictate valuation it reveals that. But at the end of the day, it’s up to you to decide which is most reliable and/or which would be the most prudent to rely on. I hope this helps clarify things for you. Regards Chuck

    • @vestedinterest5655
      @vestedinterest5655 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Dividendsmattertoo I do not have any long term concerns with 3M. This is a short term issue that presents a great opportunity to buy in my opinion. 3M simply doesn't hit 4 plus % dividend yield often. It's usually in the 3 range. Even with slow growth with a 4.2% dividend return I only need 4% growth to get a blended 8.2% return. If I can get that in a stable company with name recognition that's expanding into countries like India to benefit from growth their as well I'm a buyer. If it dropped lower I'd buy more.

    Great video Mr. Valuation. What do think about selling my highly profitable, long term stocks, to build up cash so that I can buy some of those you recommended, once they become undervalued?

    • @firsh
      @firsh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's timing and it might not work (you need to be right twice per stock). Also remember that the price can approximate the orange line by simply ranging while earnings grow behind the scenes.

    • @rOHRshackartpottery
      @rOHRshackartpottery 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@firsh Thank you for your reply. I never thought of this as timing. I am instead taking some long term profits and reinvesting those into stocks that look more promising. This is a dynamic market that calls for changes. I consider this technique as rebalancing the portfolio. Selling long termed overvalued stocks and buying undervalued stocks still keeps me in the market.

    Fwiw…. Here is a story of my experience from 50 years ago…. The 70s when the pushed up interest rate to 20%
    My dad a novice investor…. Getting older..diligently following the advice of his stock broker.. who suggested conservative investments…. Nearly 100% utilities.
    Those utilities were priced on their yield…. So when interest rates went up… they went down…. Way down… it blew my dad away
    Just sayng…if we start seeing persistent high inflation… interest rates will have to go up…. These dividends will not keep pace…. And these aristocrats will not look so aristocratic

    Seeking Alpha shows PNR (Pentair) with only 3 consecutive years of dividend growth. Not a dividend aristocrat anymore

    • @FASTgraphs
      @FASTgraphs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elden: PNR is still considered a dividend aristocrat and dividend Champion. Here is an explanation from curator of the champions, contenders, and challengers lists Justin law: "That was due to the spinoff of nVent (NVT). The combined dividends post-spin was equal to the pre-spin rate, and PNR has continued increasing its dividend every year since." Hope that clarifies it regards Chuck
