It feels like Gaeul doesn't exist in the group. Even though she's there in the MV

May be it's not meant to be promoted. Just for fan service as they sang the song month ago. That's why the mv looks less expensive

More than this, many Japanese people seem to be taking issue to it as it supposedly sampled a war song? And the original creator also died? Idk but I haven’t seen any one talking about this but every single comment under the mv is people being made at the girls and/or starship and asking for Ive to be put on hiatus for this 🤷‍♀️

I think what they’re saying is that the melody is supernova love is directly copied from a song called merry Christmas on a battlefield which is a sad song about war and the author of the song died last year from cancer so many Japanese people think it’s disrespectful for starship to turn a song about war into a love song

@@kryflutesorry, I know I’m late, but I just wanted to correct and explain some things in case other people come across this (no offense meant to you at all). This is my attempt at helping som to understand why so many Japanese people are upset by this.
The original song is called “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” but is also known as “Merry Christmas of the Battlefield”. It was made for a movie (with the same name) that told the story of the experiences of prisoners of war and their enemy captors during WWII. It was also both the first movie soundtrack ever created and the first acting role ever taken on by the composer, Ryuichi Sakamoto. Over the years, the film has had a very poignant impact on those who have watched it and garnered a lot of praise (and somewhat of a cult following). Ryuichi Sakamoto was also already a known figure in the music world before the film, but he then went on to become even more world-renowned and loved for his creativity and ability to create very moving musical pieces. When you pair those things with the fact that he died of cancer last year (March 2023) after battling it twice, it probably feels very hurtful, insulting, and/or insensitive to see one of his most well-known and beloved works being used for what seems like a superficial pop group’s generic love song.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but when I look at it from that perspective, I can completely understand and empathize with their feelings.

@@theunexpectedsmile5535 but then they should criticize another artist that also sampled the song and turned it to a love song. they're making excuses for it but hating on ive? bad hateful behavior
