In the winding streets of Lahore, where the nightingales sing,
I wandered with Zeeshan, my heart aflutter, like a wing.
We strolled through the bazaars, where the fragrances abound,
Of spices and jasmine, and the chatter of the town.
In the narrow alleys, where the light barely seeps,
We found hidden treasures, in the shops and in the keeps.
We sipped tea at the corner, where the old men gathered,
And listened to their tales, of love and life, unencumbered.
In the gardens of Shalimar, we breathed in the scents,
Of roses and marigolds, and the gentle breeze that vents.
And in the moonlit night, we danced to the beats,
Of the dhol and the tabla, and the melodies so sweet.
Oh, Zeeshan and the streets of Lahore, a memory to cherish,
A love affair with a city, that will never perish.

Fun fact: family of Rudyard Kipling used to live in Lahore, infact his father Sir John Lockwood Kipling was a first principal of Mayo school of arts in Lahore which is now national college of arts they spent their time both in Bombay and Lahore and he was also professor in JJ school of arts in Bombay then later become principal, then he was commissioned by the British government to tour Punjab, Northwest Frontier Province (Subah-e-Sarhad) and Kashmir and then he became principal in Mayo school Lahore.. And yes, Lahore was shown as part of India in Kim lol It was really different feeling to read that part, he also became curator of the old original Lahore Museum which figured as the Wonder House or Ajaib Ghar in Kim, not to be confused with the present one... I heard that Rudyard Kipling wrote jungle book in a jungle near Sakinaka lol but that ain't true

Jis Lahore nahi vekhya oh jameya hi nahi..my great grandfather used to work in Lahore..and after partition he got settled in Kapurthala near Jalandhar..So I naturally feel connected with Lahore..am I really really want to visit Lahore in my life..I can miss Europe but I can’t miss Lahore…Now because of my job I am staying in Bhopal which is also a beautiful city..but I miss Punjab and the Punjabiyat which you are making us aware of..jug jug jeeyo bhai aap..!!aur sabse khaas baat yeh hai ki aapka andaazebayaan mukhtalif hone ke saath saath behad ilmi aur purkashish hai..jo jahan aur dil dono moh leta hai..Love from India🇮🇳

Hindustan Commercial Bank was inaguareted in Calcutta on 1805,So when its branch was erected in Lahore,it was the date of inauguration in Calcutta not the date of its start in Lahore.

I born and grew up in Lahore now I am in USA, Mission high School was my school I studied here 5th to 8th grade and during our break time we play at bouli bag it is completely changed now. This episode take me in my past and childhood , every thing in front of my eye😊, when I was at Lahore we never ever pay attention these historical places near us, now I can see how precious Lahore and all these old buildings. My father in laws family was originally from Lahore before partition. His parents had nothing but nice things to say about it and they missed it so much.
Thanks for showing Lahore in detail. Its really fascinating to actually see what was told by my grandfather about Lahore years ago. He used to work at Railway station Lahore before partition for few years.

My grandfather worked there for few years before partition and he told me about Laxmi cholk, Anarkali and many gardens etc etc but unfortunately photography was not very common those days ,so no pictures with me.
My childhood memories are him telling me how great and cultured lahore was and it's gardens and beauty. He used to recite the famous saying "jine lahore nai vekhya , o jamya e ni "
Sikhs suffered most with Partition. Our Most Valuable Gurdwaras Historical places all left in West Punjab in Pakistan. Sir jee You are Doing a Big Favour to us by Documenting and showing all this. Me Aap DA Teh Dill to Shukargujar ha. God Bless You.

We migrated from Jalandhar to Lahore in partition. As a resident of Lahore, I must confess that you've put in amazing effort into these videos exposing some historic details that even I didn't know about. You should be recognized!

As a divided extended family member, I owe deep respect & love to the beings of Pakistan❤.
We share immense rich culture from the past. We should find ways and means to unite more as we were meant for.
Narration to these unheard & unknown histories of the past gives goosebumps. !
May Allah / God grace us with unending sense of brotherhood.
Just to Add, Pak govt should work to renovate and preserve the glory of the past.

Fantastic, the way you present the heritage of Lahore, the respect you have for the founders of Lahore and the contributions of the Hindu and the Sikh community. Makes me wonder if the Partition was at all necessary...it became not only a Partition of land but also a Partition of the souls of all the communities. Only the outsiders stood to gain. Respects to you for all your efforts.

@@BaalWala you can play harmonium thats more difficult. While reading Hindi is easier than urdu. You can learn read and write Hindi even in 30 or 40 days. Its very very easy.

Yet again a lovely portrayal of the older parts of Lahore. Truly, the union bank building is a marvel of sorts, built much before the British came in. Pleasantly surprised by the Baouli Bagh area which was done by Guru Arjan Dev Ji. While the baouli (well) is no longer there, the garden looks pretty and serene.
Bhai, aap bahut achha kaam kar rahe ho to document the sights of Lahore, before Time and Commerce changes them completely 🙏🙏

Filhaal toh aap ke badolat Lahore dekh letay hein. Insha'Allah ek roz zaroor aana hoga aur aisay hi explore karenege. Aapka boht boht shukriya. Cement was invented in 1824, and the commercial bank building was constructed in 1805. Surprising.
Brother, the date is of the formation of the bank not the construction of the branch.
