Chet was the most melodic player ever and never strayed. Wish he had taken better care of himself.

After listening to Chet Baker for over 30 years, his note selection, timing, interpretation, and phrasing continues to amaze me to this day. Every time i listen to him it feels like the first time. Truly one of the greatest horn players that have ever lived. And yet, so tragically pained. God bless you, Chet.

i hear a lot of his lines from his instrumental version of summertime in his scat solo

The ill fitting dentures so he resorts ever more to scatting like as no other has matched so sad and yet still plays through the pain and difficulty to reach the sound he attains too such a gift to leave behind as part of the legacy of a certain Mr.Chet Baker, wherever U are - here’s hoisting one for you ole buddy - wherever U are

Thanks so much for sharing this Jazzokok, Chet was so great. Back in the 70's Chet's drummer didn't show and he heard me making the hi/hat sound with my voice. He came up to me and asked if I had my kit with me, which I always carried in my trunk. Would you believe, this once, I didn't have it! Dam.........

@masterbum82 - I don't appreciate pretentious little "Buttmunchers" trolling the sites of the world correcting posters on punctuation. The limitations of this little box you seem oblivious to? Leave and come no more, go play childish "Gotcha" games with those that have the slightest desire to engage you in conversation. FYI I and many use text acronyms that would make UR head spine as in the movie the “The Exorcist” lol - Chet Baker is one of my most personal favorites all time NQA
