Scrapchat 67, 20th April 2022: This week is ALL about copper; that beautiful orange gold and a load of easy places you can find it! Of course there will be loads more and I'll have thought of more after filming but this video will give you the really easy places to get a nice amount of scrap copper!
If you are new here, I can't currently commit to a regular livestream due to my daughters complex needs so I do a regular weekly Wednesday night scrap chat premier as a way of chatting and keeping in touch with you guys whilst showing what I've been up to during the week.
I also am a bodycam girl, it isn't for everyone, if you get dizzy or seasick them bodycam isn't for you! I've tried a tripod on my bench but it just isn't practical, I don't have the space, hopefully when I get my bigger workshop next year I can set up a tripod and lose the bodycam, but for now I work with what I've got!
I'm fully licenced for my area and ask prior permission for items inside skips and so far nobody has ever said no, they want the extra space :) I still do quick dives to avoid passing comments, especially as I'm usually out in the evening.
Some lovely people have asked to send me the odd gift, to avoid us both extra fees (shipping for you and forwarding address fees for me) I have, like many finally set up an Amazon wish list. If there is something you would like to send that isn't on my list, then email me on the address on my about page and I'll add the product in if it's available on amazon UK. Any gifts to my forwarding address are of course still welcome and very much appreciated too!! You can email me on the address on my about page. Lots of resin moulds on my wish list too ;)
    www.amazon.co....
Sometimes Amazon plays up and my address doesn't come up in other territories or with non amazon products. If this happens but you still want to get me something off of my list you can send me a friends and family PayPal and tell me what to purchase. You may have to work out the cost in other currencies. I'll do a video shout out when they arrive 🙂

I honestly enjoyed that very much Sollers. Wow I am really impressed with your hoard of copper in all shapes and sizes, especially that fish ? you feed. You've got a nice stack of wire to strip, lucky you. Those shower units are amazing, haven't seen anything like that here. With the contacts from switches I have recently scrapped, I found that the buttons are magnetic. That strip of copper from the chair lift, also new to me. Keep enjoying what you do, and may the scrap gods smile down on you. 👍

You would be better off doing what I do and trying to find a house clearance company where you can buy faulty electronics by the pallet. It can be worth a call round local companies and looking on eBay. The difficulty is if you have to get delivery though as this is hefty at the moment. Hope that helps 🙂👍

Not at all, some runs are non-ferrous big bucks, or circuit boards that will get about £1000 a run, but some are ferrous cheap runs and my yard is so local, I would much rather get rid of the bulky iron, and whatever I have stacked up at the time that I am turning in so I don't live in a what looks like a junk yard. I actually don't turn in my copper (except VIR cable), that is all kept if I did take it, I'd obviously get a lot more each run. Scrapping for me is a hobby and most hobbies actually cost people money, hundreds or even thousands, I'm always happy with making any money from mine, it's all a bonus. Obviously if I lived a distance from the yard, I would have to save up the scrap for bigger loads.

Do you collect the scrap yourself or buy it in? Cheers

Thanks so much, I occasionally buy a big e-waste pallet from a house clearance company but not for a couple of years or so, the rest is all collected for free, either from companies, skip diving(with permission) or e-waste bin drop offs🙂
