- I'm back for more GT3 on #iRacing and this time it's night racing at the glorious Spa circuit. The problem is, I seem to have misplaced my talent....

Great job. Your perseverance was well rewarded in the end! And by doing a few more races than what you’d normally do in a week, it gives you that CRUCIAL track time to improve. Sim racers like you and I who may only be able to race once a week, are always at such a disadvantage compared to those with 10-20+ races under their belt already in the race week. Which makes these achievements even more impressive 🥳
Cheers Chris! Yeah it’s so rare to have 4 runs at a combo - it definitely helped my pace. And by finding out all of the hidden crash spots at Spa I could better avoid them 😂😂

Glad to see you wrap up with a win at Spa. Best track in the world, but something about it makes iRacing splits very sketchy. I also tend to have a very bad week at Spa.
Great win. I just wanted to say for me what separated your video's from everybody else's is when also focused on other racer battles and had more outside camera shots. It felt like I was watching a real race with a little higher focus on you the driver. I loved that style so much. If this is working better awesome, I just wanted to let you know what hooked me.
Hey Jesse - so there will definitely be more videos in that style in the future. I’m experimenting a bit at the moment with different formats, but it also sometimes there’s race weeks where bringing a few races together makes sense for the overall story. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I get some dramatic single race sessions that I can work with. Oh and that I don’t crash in! 😂😂
Great perseverance and content as always! Much deserved win. Had my podium streak ruined by intentional wrecking of a poor sport, so I feel your pain this week lol.

I feel your pain, Spa this week has been a total nightmare for me too. I've managed to drop from ~2.3k to ~1.9k over the course of a few days. But the biggest pain is the drop in SR down to 1.5 on average. It's not just in GT3, though, the Advanced Mazda series, which is usually pretty good, has been an absolute *hitshow for driving standards.

@@TheTrianim haha thanks buddy! Week 2 of trying out the new Mustang after Brands last week. It’s a great car but can definitely punish you pretty quickly!

I'm raced more GT3 this year, but giving Spa a miss. I've just never been that good here in sports cars in either iRacing or ACC.
My sports car rating is similar to yours though, so hopefully see you on track at some point this season

Unlucky in the earlier races, defo more perseverance than me with iRacing at the moment. Apart from the issue at No Name/Ickx Corner you seem to mostly be on top of the Mustang. Great win in that final race, excellent driving under sustained pressure.

GT3, in the dark, at Spa, probably limited prep time. I'd say you've been unlucky but also that you did well to recover and redeem yourself in the end! That first crash looked a bit like a symptom of not having raced for a couple of days perhaps and just acting on instinct without having the reflex to make sure there's no one there on the outside, hence my "limited prep time" assumption. But I may be wrong and it may have just been a mistake or a lapse in concentration.
Either way, well done sticking with it and congrats on the win! It may have been a lower split, but that is still something to be proud of, especially with another car hounding you basically from start to finish. 💪
Thanks buddy! On the first incident I honestly was so occupied by understanding where the crashed cars were going to end up I didn’t realise the guy was there on my outside - so definitely a concentration issue for me.
Couldn’t believe I then binned two races though! 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@Ben_LaBroca Well, you live and you learn. You can have those kinds of periods sometimes where you just can't seem to get it right. But they pass, and the earlier mistakes will have helped you (and probably stressed you out) on that ultimate run to victory as well 😊

It was my worst week too lol went from a sr of 4.9 to 1.5 and lost like 200 it by just doing gt3 at spa

I know exactly what happened in No Name. The Mustang does not like being destabilized for too long, you were just past the edge of adhesion there. If you were in a Ferrari or even a Mercedes, the car would've wiggled and that's it, but the Mustang didn't have time to regain its balance so it just went around
Yep I reckon you’re spot on. It’s not something I’d done in all of practice or quali so was really caught out!
The spin on Race 3 I feel like you braked too late and too hard in that downhill corner, which cause a sudden shift of weight balance in the car, cause the rear of the car to lose too much weight and lift, resulting in a lack of grip and the spin. Down/Up hill corners are very tricky, one small variation on the braking while driving at the limit, and your done. A shame, you were really fast
Hey Rafael - yes I think you’re right. I noticed the same characteristics when I was new to the car at brands hatch last week. I think in that moment I had slipped into pushing too hard for some unexplainable reason and was already nearly over the kerb at the previous corner. Still, you live and you learn! common denominator here is gt3, its a shit class
praying on gt3's downfall, GTE is a much superior series
Ha I have some sympathy with this, but I did also get pancaked during my single experience of iracing GTE 😂😂
