Joe. Another great session. While switching BASF, instead of the Conductor riding the shoves and getting off moving equiptment before the car couples, the Conductor might just stay on the ground at his end. He would direct the train to and from the Brakeman "fanning the switch". Just the opposite switching RJR on the other end with the Brakeman staying on the ground coupling and uncoupling the cars with the Conductor at the switch. I see where @Adamdaj noticed that billboard also. Is that a period WOBM radio station symbol on the billboard? How about those Gulf station gas prices? Suggest telescopic tubing where the catenary poles go in the ground to allow removal for track cleaning. Fun to watch and listen. Looking forward to the next operating session. Mike
Mike always value your input. You teach me the ways every time. Yes WOBM was a very popular NJ Radio station in the 80's. Always listened to it on my dads transistor radio when we went to the beach, such memories. They always had billboards, advertising, and bumper stickers everywhere. I could not, unfortunately, find a picture of one of their billboards from the era. So I used a period bumper sticker for the billboard. Yes those are the gas prices according to pictures on Google. Thank you for all the support!
The Dayton complex....wasn't there a Stauffer Chemical plant in there? After ICI took their bite of the Stauffer apple, they got possession of the facility which had been closed and was a Superfund site. I was working at ICI in the late 80's and was moved to the Dayton-Cranbury site. Rail service still was in operation to the plant for loading of gons with the contaminated soil.
Those CMX cars are worth it if you have a lead sled LifeLike to pull with. And despite it being Woodland Scenics, their cleaning stick with a soft pad attached is pretty good for those parts that the Cleaning car can't roll over easily like sidings. But yeah part of why all my Catenary is magnetically mounted.
Yes I have to look into those. Thanks for the recommendations. Magnetically mounted Catenary poles dam I wish I had thought of that, ugh! Thanks for watching.
@@centraljerseyconrailinnsca5676 Well if you ever need some to replace any damaged during track cleaning. I am planning to make a simple kit for the RR shop in Piscataway once I wrap up their new display layout.
I guess the time period is too far newer to have billboard for WIGG Radio 99 out of Philadelphia. WIBG is alive and well in Avalon NJ. Play all of those classic hits. Anyway Mr. Joe real good realistic operations and maybe one day you model the line that connect the Camden to Frankford Junction across the Delaware River.
RJR was the name of the distribution company. They were of company that mainly delt with Delmonte. I don't believe they were associated with RJ Reyonld's. Thanks for watch Ralph!
Great Job ! That area looks just like I remember .
That make me very happy to hear. Thanks for watching.

Non-reefer cars into RJR could be occasional equipment or packaging shipments. Another good video !
Thank you for watching!

Oh yes that would be a great line to model. Great stuff! Thanks for watching.
Excellent Ops Joe!! Does RJR stand for RJ Reynolds?
