Thanks to Telefunken Elektroakustik for use of the audio in this video. Taken from their "Live from the Lab" sessions, featuring the superb artist "Kat Wright" with her song, "Contact". The performance was recorded live using Telefunken microphones exclusively, which provide an incredibly smooth, rich and beautiful canvas to mix with.

Sounded great over those drums. I like how you explained exactly what to look out for. You can really hear the kick punch through when engaging the sidechain highpass filter. Very nice comp.
Nice one!! 👍 thanks!
IGS seem to be making some really cracking gear! Beautiful tone to that compressor!
Sounds great!
Agreed!
Pleasantly surprised at the price. I was expecting it to be at least double that. That's a steal for less than 2k ex VAT...
Totally agreed, really good value!
Niceeeee
Thanks! 🙏
Wondering how it compares to the Phoenix Compressor...Any experience?
@@Apemedia888 Lots; we are the main UK dealer for Thermionic Culture. The Phoenix is a cleaner, smoother sound than the Tubecore, which is much thicker, punchier and more colourful sounding. As such the Phoenix is more versatile, but not as aggressive or bold.
Awesome run though, thanks! How does this compare with the Heritage Audio Grandchild ?
Good question! It's not the same in many ways. Looking at the functions initially, the Grandchild is more faithful to the fairchild design, with fixed time constant presets, where the Tubecore has dedicated attack/release settings.
Mainly, the difference is in sound and how you use it. A fairchild (and Grandchild!) normally shines when it is absolutely smashed, meters pinned to -20. You can't do this with the Tubecore, but you don't need to. The Tubecore oozes flavour with much less effort.
In short, the Grandchild is more subtle and handles more delicate sources well, where the tubecore is for adding fairchild-like flavour to your audio but via different application method.
phat
Possibly the best description for this but I’m not cool enough to pull off using it
How does this compare to the Grandchild?
The Tubecore is super-colourful and vibey. The Grandchild is much cleaner and more transparent with a touch of transformer goodness!
Guys do you have the Neve Bcm10 mkii 32 channel?
Please send all sales enquiries to sales@sxpro.co.uk 👍
@@sxproaudio Hi, I meant for you guys to show it
@@preciseaudioblog This is something we will cover in the future for sure - what do you want to see in such a video?
@@sxproaudio Hi, as much as posible. Front, back, price, electrical requirements of the room where it would be installed; and of course to have a perspective of the size with someone sitting on it. Thank you.
Level matched?
Yes, got it within 0.1dB LUFS!
