      Install a 12v relay and you should never have to replace it again. Since it is the heat up inside the compact area in the dash with no circulati on

      That frys them plus replace all(every single one) bulbs with non-canbus LED's. Canbus draws the same amperage as the incandescent bult. It would do zero good if replaced them with canbus bulbs.

      Oh and dont plug the vacuum in backwards on the factory headlight switch or it will leak massively. It can only seal in one direction. I dont think it matters on the bypass switch. But i dont remember on the bypass forsure. You better test that one(its easy)..

    Is it a copper or plastic worm gear? If it’s plastic it will break long before a refurbished vacuum system.

    Old vid but why not power the motors from a relay fed from the headlight power wires ?

      I don't know, I have replaced my 'knock off' Chinese vacuum motors and control valves twice and the headlight switch once on my C3. I gotta bet I have better than $300.00 keeping this crap working over the years. This has caught my eye. I might give it a shot next time.

    I would have done the wiring completely different. Why have to take the dash off to do this when you have all the feeds at the lights? Seems a lot of extra work.

    • @detroitspeed
      @detroitspeed  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To access the headlight switch, disassembly to the dash is required.

    • @williamwofford4919
      @williamwofford4919 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Detroit Speed, Inc. but why do you need to access the switch? You can surely take a feed from the actual lights for the up and down?

    • @detroitspeed
      @detroitspeed  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our harness was designed to be a plug and play kit that connects at the headlight switch connector to properly operate both the parking light and headlight functions.

    a very very stupid idea...and a waste of money and time... the original vaacum system was simply perfect: no battery need, no motors, no wiring, no switches etc etc...
