Awesome car. I also agree with your philosophy. It’s awesome see more younger dudes starting to realize the joy to be had in these classic muscle cars. Yea they may not perform at the modern level but there is nothing like cruising in a 69 corvette. I sold my c7 for a 69 and i don’t regret it for a second.

Awesome everything, I was fortunate to be recognized as a car guy via my Grandfather, he build engines for NASCAR Race teams. So at 16, in 1966 when my parents authorized the purchase of a 1964 Corvette Convertible it was a dream come true. But i still had doubts, so I slept in the car the first night so in the morning I would not wake up from a dream. This Corvette had character and soul and a life before me. Its true, it had been driven and had some issues. Over 4 years I repaired every thing and lived through the car as I grew up and eventually had to leave the car behind when I was drafted into the US Army in 1971. To get in the car was transforming no matter how things were around me i was always happy to get inside. I would check the gauges as i turned the key on and click that Muncie 4 speed into neutral. Turning the key was like open a door into a new world, The engine was a 327 Cu In 365 HP with a rough idle and very fast rev from idle through a Holley 4 Barrel. Similar to the 427 but yes smaller, lighter and less torque. So it needed to rev up to 3,500 to feel strong. But from 3,500 to 6,500 the little mouse could pull hard and it never seem to stop pulling. The 4 Speed was so fun to drive as you could hold it in 2nd in town and rev to 3,500 then let the engine brake the car down with a glorious exhaust rapping. The gauges, the dash, the fenders, the hood, the view out the rear view mirror was always there to remind me this is a very special experience, take it in, one day it will end. Your video brought back so many of these thoughts, feelings and emotions about a car. For years I had dreams about that car. I would be in a my dream searching for my car. Some dreams I found it! But the engine was missing so the rest of the dream was searching for the engine. Such Separation anxiety is common I have heard but this dream went in for over 20 years. I was able to rejoin the club with a 79 Corvette, but it was not the same, I went on to several Corvettes after that, 81, 93, 98, 07 and today 2014. During that time I did pick up another 64 Corvette this was a Coupe highly modified former Drag Car and Show Car. But none of these Cars replaced that original 64 Convertible in my mind. It had so many nuances and character flaws that no other vehicle could replace it. When you have that first situation it burns into your brain. It never goes away and rarely does anything replace it. Especially when you put more time and energy into that vehicle, whether interior, paint, engine or wheels it all becomes that one car and it becomes YOU. This journey as you have described here is a very special trip that does not come to everyone. When you realize you are on your journey, YES take your time, drink in all the senses give you. Think carefully about what and how you make repairs or improvements. The cars all have a character and you need to respect that and care for it in the process. One agreement we have is ALL Corvettes are special but the C3 68-82 is the most sexy body style of all Corvettes. The Unit you show here is very special all on its own. Former NASA Astronaut Car is crazy cool, 427 is the beast engine, the tach Red line to 6,500 like on my 64 is a clue that warms everyone's heart. Well done restoration steering wheel, Paint, wheels all enrich the character of the base car that was there. It's a beautiful result and you did Duntov, Mitchell, Shinova and all the Design team proud. Thank You for making such a good documentation and sharing it with all us Corvette nuts in the world. I’ve owned 5 c3 corvettes over the years. Great idea with the dual stripes continuing over the ttops , and down the rear. It’s perfectly personalized. Awesome!

Back in 2014, while in bowling green Kentucky, my dad bought a 1981 C3 corvette. Compared to this, its anemic, cheap, and has absilutely not go. And i love it. The C3 means so much to me, and i eagerly await the day i buy it from him.

Lep video. Super zmontirano, dobri kadri in odlična vsebina. Upam na še več podobnih. Sama zgodba me spominja na to, ko sem sam kupoval Trans Ama.
