Allison getting older is great! Don't be scared. Every year brings more confidence and its amazing. I thought getting older was going to suck. I cried the entire day of my 30th birthday. But what I found was this amazing thing happened. I became so much stronger and happier because I learned that I'm allowed to enjoy being me Unapologetically. And you learn to say no to things that don't make you happy. The art of saying no and being ok with it is such a gift. I just turned 50 in September. And I've never been happier. As woman I am so secure in who I am in this world. I don't need anyone else's approval on my life. My husband and son love and support me. And that's all I really need. Happy birthday Allison and welcome to this wonderful time in your life. I'm so happy for you.

I moved 2 years ago from my beloved Hawaii :') I miss Spam Jam, Leonard's, Pigeon, Sansui, Wet n Wild, little Ewa, the Aquarium, zoo, annual festivals where they block off the roads and everyone comes out, and the Friday fireworks at 7 pm. ;-;

One of my favorite breakfast dishes: - 2 beaten eggs - diced sweet onion, about a half a slice - diced slice of Spam - fresh ground black pepper Add onion to eggs, pour into medium no-stick frying pan on medium heat. Sprinkle diced Spam over the eggs. Next add pepper. When eggs are nearly set, flip the whole thing over to finish the eggs and fry the Spam a bit. And serve. Great video as always.

My mom used to make a dish she called Hawaiian Smiles back in the 70s. Boil a package of wide egg noodles, drain and add one can of Spam, chopped up. Toss in one can of cream of mushroom soup, one can of milk, and a cup of mayo. Mix and heat through. Add salt and pepper to taste. I like a handful of shredded sharp cheddar added in. It is so delicious but not something to eat often. It's on mylist of comfort foods so not made very often, maybe once a year.
FYI...Malasada is cousin of beignets. When first introduced to beignets, Nawlins acquaintance said the same thing. Zippy's, 7-11 & musubi's are ubiquitous in 808. And because Hawaii 7-11 is franchised thru Japanese company, local 7-11s are Vastly different from mainland U.S. stores

Awww man. That's the zippys right across from my job I worked at for 7 years. I miss that place. Gained alot of pounds there. Lol😂. And yes after a night of drinking we hitting up zippys before going home at 4am in the morning.

We have fried doughnuts like those in the uk too but we tend to have raspberry jam or apple sauce in them. It’s caster sugar, or should be, on the doughnuts.

Here in Portugal we call it Bola de Berlim instead of malassada. They are pretty good and we eat it mostly in the beach in the summer
