Well not necessarily. Emilio's car is faster, but he didn't drive perfectly. Reiji did, and that can make a bigger difference. I once did a whole campaign using only the taxi, and I made it pretty far. I even beat the London City Champ with the taxi. However, before anyone calls BS, I am not lying. I had to try many many many MANY times before I could win. I also used dirty tactics like making racers crash into cars or buildings and such, this along with the really good handling of the taxi made me win every race, however I could NOT beat the World Champ with the taxi. Sometimes skills are better than speed. Just putting that out there.

Pay attention to rivals image, city sky, vehicle modelling of Midnight Club, they are cartoonish compared to GTA 3. Not every cartoonish graphics back in 1999-2001 are better than real textures and real life based graphics.
I owe this game a big thank you this game payed the way for me in gaming when i was young man i used to play the shit out this game even after i beat it i never stopped playing it one of my most memorable games of all i'll never forget this game
God comparing this to midnight club two, same series but the second one was just a massive upgrade, better graphics, physics, cars, and just in general better gameplay. Though to be fair, this game is still good, it's just outclassed by it's younger brother.

I was never able to beat this game because Kareem never spawned in for me. I won all the races against emilio, the truck guy, and the chick, and they all disappeared from the map, but Kareem never spawned on the map. There was literally no arrow indicating anyone else on the map, and I had spent hours searching for him on the freeway. It ended up acting like I was just doing cruise mode, but in career mode. With some research, it seems like I might be the only one who had this problem.
I gave up on this game too because of a glitch after beating Kareem’s race. The dialogue never showed up and I will have to redo the entire race but that’s some bs so I’m moving on
Actually I’m having the same exact problem with Darren not spawning in London after beating the other racers. When I go to my 2nd career file, Kareem doesn’t spawn in New York after beating the other racers.
EdwinKingBoo Sonic I got the type s. I’ve seen people run into a glitch though where they beat the game and never unlock it. There’s a walkthrough right here on TH-cam where it happened. This game is just filled with bugs and glitches. I’ve constantly glitched through walls too.

Ahhh, this is where it all started.. actually, no... Midtown madness is where it all started. I am glad I was able to follow the franchise from start to finish.
After the days of Rush or Crusin in the N64, this was a new challenge for me when this first came out. I used to have this game, but I did manage to beat it 100%. Looking back, it does show its age, and the AI races unfairly. And the New York picture showed the Twin Towers. Sad times...

EdwinKingBoo Sonic I got the type s. I’ve seen people run into a glitch though where they beat the game and never unlock it. There’s a walkthrough right here on TH-cam where it happened. This game is just filled with bugs and glitches. I’ve constantly glitched through walls too.

After the days of Rush or Crusin in the N64, this was a new challenge for me when this first came out. I used to have this game, but I did manage to beat it 100%. Looking back, it does show its age, and the AI races unfairly.
And the New York picture showed the Twin Towers. Sad times...
