Midnight Club 2 is the best arcade racer ever made. There’s literally no game that has matched the sense of uncontrollable speed. The techno music, those nostalgic 2000’s graphics, the characters designs and fictional cars. Truly a masterpiece.
Fun fact (that I'm pretty sure everyone knows): The Torque JX is actually based off of the Nissan Skyline R34 and the Veloci is based off of the Saleen S7. P.S. like I said before, basically EVERYONE in the world knows this

This game is full of very brutal races. I'm at 80 something percent and it's been Hell the last few races. The AI attacks so much! Cars will even stop, turn around and wait to make you crash by hitting you. Still fun somehow
Its one of the hardest races of all games ive been able to play. You need to learn to be absolutely perfect, plus choosing the route. Not really difficult when you have done it 100+ times but at first it really seemed impossible to me. The groovy music when you did complete it was just heaven to the ears

I really liked how precise you were near the end of Tokyo race 1. Slow and steady and zero mistakes. No one even caught up to you. That’s the mindset of an athlete under pressure, good job.
I'm not sure about other racing games but the challenge in this one is INSANE. Not only do you need dozens of attempts just to remember well where to go, but the precision of the carhandling should be top notch. Your vehicle is faster only by a small margin compared to the competition, however it sucks with handling and acceleration. So this makes you only catch up on straight lines and perfectly executed turns. But they have a counter to your speed because they have 1 more nitro! ...Owh and screw the designer of those mofokin' pillars which makes your car get pulled towards them when hitting... still have nightmares about those xD
That's how a real game feels, a good exam test. The final races tests you in everything and every location. Very few games actually respect the player and test them

No, after the crappy Triology Remastered, Rockstar could repeat the same disaster of bugs and problems. Its better a modern port with HD textures, hud, upscaled cutscenes with 60 FPS and high resolution screen.
Savo's first Paris race is the hardest for me. I played this game on PC several times, and if I made one mistake, I could restart the race, cuz others would finish sooner. Compared to Los Angeles, where races of Savo are downright easy.

So in Los Angeles for example, especially on the highways you have a clear advantage. I think Savo's first Paris race is very difficult, because you get so far away from other NPCs that they don't render, so the computer gives them an average speed, which is too fast. I always beat the racer who is on the same track as me.
I just got to the 1st race with this dude. I stopped because the previous race was totally brutal! The AI is SO EVIL! All traffic steers right into you. I had a bus so determined to make me lose that it ran into a building trying to get in front if me. Curses! I still love it!
The 3rd race is my nemesis.. after 20 years there is still a feud between savo and me in my head.. he's kind of a master to me till now & maybe forever.. it's crazy

I beat the game when I was 14... I got a ps2 off Amazon 2 days ago and I just beat the entire game again. For me the 2 races that took me the longest were Savo’s 2nd Tokyo Race and The very Last race. I spent a good 2 hours on the last race.
That drops is even harder in this video's second race You race up to the freeway at 250kmh and on the opposite lane, almost a free road, early morning, the acid hits and the cars appear on the horizon with a blinding sun Fucking orgasmic image, and such a great driving as well, almost perfect run on the second race
Just speed ran LA and Paris in a couple of hours, I had to take a break though. I've never wanted to throw hands with a video game so badly in my life after that. I'll try for Savo tomorrow. This scares me though. I feel like I'm going to need a new Monitor before this is over.
This game has mad a staple in my childhood! I personally loved drifting around traffic and sharp corners so I preferred the Saikou XS car over the one your using for racing salvo. Having three cans of nos instead of four forced me to be smart about how to use them.
I'm fully convinced this is the hardest game of all time whether it's arcade racer or action RPGs. Do not get fooled by this gameplay, the PC version is twice harder.
Funnily enough, despite the extra nitrous I think the Torque JX might be more difficult to beat Savo with than the Knight or Saikou XS. It's mostly since both vehicles corner significantly better than the Torque JX, though, as the Torque has understeer problems and can't dodge traffic as easily. I also don't think it's fishtail-capable like the Lusso XT is, but the Lusso and the Torque both weigh the same and the former basically requires fishtailing to do well.
