I created an epic step by step tutorial on the build of a nature aquarium for South American fish/cichlids!
In keeping with our channel name "cichlidscape" I wanted to video my latest aquarium creation from start to finish that is a tank specifically designed for cichlids. In this case, Angelfish and Geophagus. Both these fish are from South America and I wanted to create a tank that made them feel right at home! I think I was able to achieve that!
Once the scaping process was complete we added the fish. I already owned some of the fish for this aquarium like the angelfish but I also bought 4 Geophagus Tapajos. (red head cichlid) Once these grow and color up I have no doubt they will look awesome in this tank.
I plan on adding a few more fish to this tank. Maybe a tetra species or some Corydora so please let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!

A school of Congo Tetra would look amazing in this tank against the Black background...

Thanks mate. Really really liking this one so far. What schooling fish you think would be good? I have two that are my top choices right now. Columbian blues and the pristilla tetra

Nice scape and good video. I think the hanging piece looks great! I'm gonna scape my 75 gallon and probably will incorporate some of your ideas...from other builds too! Good Job!

I did enjoy this video! I love seeing the final fish choices. A few months ago I set up my largest 75 gallon tank. My plan is one Geo topajos, one angelfish, pearl gouramis, dwarf neon rainbows, bristlenose pleco. My Angel is a koi and it is beautiful. The Geo is still a juvenile so not sure if male or female...I suspect it's a female??? I love the hatchet fish idea, marble hatchet always catch my eye:). Roseline sharks are awesome too but since they are so active I didn't want to stress out my Angel. You'll have to share a video of all your final choices:)

Looks great. I like to hang wood from above as it not only adds height to the scape, it also gives a greater area for the geos to sift through the sand.

For sure! Looks great I think. Gives the tank a different perspective for sure👍🏻 thanks for watching & commenting mate

You've done an amazing job there Lewis. Right at the end of the cinematic you could see the reflection of the root it looked awesome. The Red Heads are lovely fish fairly slow growing, however as they mature the fins take on some pretty cool colours. I've had mine for about two years and they are probably about 5 inch long now. Looking forward to see what you do with your last tank. Stay safe and take care mate.

Thanks for checking out the video John. Glad you liked it! The last tank is a 40 gallon breeder. What would you do?

That's a good question. Mbuna tank maybe? I don't think a community tank is your thing somehow. Possibly a Lake Tanganyika set up. I'm sure what ever you decide it'll turn out great. Looking forward to seeing it.
