Nice ma'am, thanks a lot, u r really star among the Galaxy for us
Guys mam said that s-waves travels through solid and gaseous medium but in ncert 11th geography ( fundamental of physical geography) chapter 3 Pg no. has mentioned, s- waves only passes through solid materials.

thank you madam for clearing my concept
Very Thank full to your work sir & mam...
Very Nice way of teaching...
Mam, your scientific way of explaining the concept are really very nice. Thanks for such a nice explanation.🙏
Please clarify the portion @25:14 where you told about burning and melting of rocks which leads to transformation of olivine to basalt to andesite to granite. I think these phase changes occur due to cooling and not heating because when olivine from mantle reaches the oceanic crust it is getting cooled. When getting contact with water, rapid cooling occurs so definitely this phase change phenomenon cannot be due to burning and melting.
Somasis Mukherjee yeah.... Because seafloor and continental crust are cooler then molted megma.... Her diagram is right but she told it oppositely
@@umeshsingh-du3pk hi you mean..in her diagram..if olivine is melted it will convert to basalt rocks?
@@umeshsingh-du3pk yes you are ryt
Thank you very much Madam for a very good lecture
Tq so much mam.....I owe a lot to your service
Mantle layer of earth isn't in liquid state but rather in solid state at high pressure and temperature differences that cause it to act as semi solid same as asphalt acts. Thus this semi solid mantle forms convection current causing small but viscous flow and moving the plates. Mantle has basically two layers. The uppermost layer together with continental crust and Oceanic crust forms lithosphere. The lowermost layer also known as Asthenosphere is at very high pressure and temperature that produces convection current in semi solid state.
Thank you so much mam. Hmko apki awaj se
Bahut hi jyada pyari hai mem. Thank you so much
Ma'am Isn't olivine a mineral found in Basalt rock itself???? How heating Olivine changes it into Basalt?? Please ma'am I am bit confuse. As u said later Olivine came out and cooled down to form Basalt. But earlier u said that melting Olivine at high temperature changes to basalt.. Which one is true??
Thanks a lot ma'am...
Thanks for revising the concept....thanks a lot for your efforts...

Maam, there are 7 major plates.
source: NCERT 11, page no 35.
q. Africa is in which plate?
Yes it is Written in NCERT 9th Geography
african plate
Mostly nubian plate, and some part of eastern african plate is breaking and becoming somali plate
Very informative...

How least viscose olivine on heating converts to less viscose basalt. Shouldnt it be opposite? Heat decreases the viscosity and makes it more mobile?
again Thanks for in Hindi

Can anybody help plz. I am confused in notes making, made notes from ncert now after listening these videos should i make separate notes or merge wid ncert.?
Dear ,If u have enough time then makes notes of these lecture and merge it with ncert.
If u don't have time..then underline basic point on your book and Download Mam lecture ppt from their website
Are these lectures relevant only to someone who is appearing with Geography as an optional subject.
Or are these a part of standard geography information that everyone should have?
Geography will be a part of Prelims and Mains (paper II) too.
Thank you maam
which book 's content is it mam?

If at all mantle is in highly fluid state then how can s waves pass through it...as u said s waves do not pass through liquid... please any one clarify my doubt..
Yes,you right s waves can only pass through solid form that is why when it enters to mantle (whose inner part is in molten or liquid state)it gets "absorb" due to its shear waves and only reflection takes place ,From here we can conclude that outer core is in liquid state which hinders s waves to pass through it and gets absorb in mantle layer only !!
Ma'am how can I find this picture
Nice class mam
Which chapter of ncert?
i have a doubt - cyclical seasons due to revolution or revolution + tilt.

can anyone tell G1/P1 means????please
I think the word 'heavy' is not appropriate as heaviness is more related to the concept of mass. If i take half kg of basalt and 1 kg of granite and if i ask you which is heavy then the clear answer is granite which is contradictory. So probably the word 'density' would be more appropriate.
Great lecture though.

what if a plate is both continental and oceanic collides with some other plate?
Shivanshi Agarwal ya that's what I want to know
I. If 2 oceanic plates collide with each other the plate having more length will get subducted and destroyed into the mantle.
II. If an oceanic and continental plate collides with each other than the oceanic plate will always subduct and get destroyed into the mantle. This is beacause, OCEANIC CRUST IS HEAVIER THAN CONTINENTAL CRUST.
III. If 2 continental plates collide with each other than the collision between two continental plates crunches and folds the rock at the boundary, lifting it up and leading to the formation of mountains and mountain ranges. (It may sometimes also result in earthquake or tsunami )
