Maxis really missed out on a cool mechanic by not making a white spice that can cost up to a million but getting caught with it will lead to feds trying go get you
I just recently got back into this game after probably a decade and I'm so happy to have found your content! It's been awesome to watch your runs and glitch videos. I've been having fun implementing some of your strats. Thanks a bunch for making content for this game in 2024! Hoping for a sequel soon.
Interesting, is the plugin thinking the video is a custom aspect ratio because of the black space? The video itself is 16x9 but Spore is recorded in windowed mode as 1920x1017 so I put the timer in the open space.
@@KinglyValenceYeah, the plugin is not *that* smart, so basically, when the top of the screen is dark enough to quality as blank space, it cuts off the timer at the bottom, and an equal amount of space from the top. And then when the top is bright enough again, it puts the whole video back in frame, but the detection is honestly very patchy. Tends to not like black screens with text in the middle, either. (Some TH-camrs do that for emphasis in edited content.)
How about a challenge where you buy out as many other planets from other alien races as possible, like a mega trade route buyout, if you haven’t done one like this already
I'm sure you already know this, but you only need one of each flora/fauna in your cargo because it's so easy to quickly duplicate them by placing on target planet, and then immediately tractor-beaming the same one up off the ground.
Our home planet gives us 10 planet/animals at a time during the mission briefing. I just wanted to show the cargo was doubled along with the terraforming tools :)
All this time i thought pink spice was the most expensive, where did i even learn that? I dont remember anymore, but it has been ingrained in my head for a long time now... I also have a really hard time encountering the highest selling price for pink spice, it seems like i can only get the second highest, but never THE highest...
Speedrun suggestion: Plain Civilization stage, on hard with religious, with only 1 type of vehicle each (i.e. 1 type of car, 1 type of boat, OR once you choose a vehicle you must not change it, also no airplanes), claim the nearest spice geyser first (or multiple cars), no "multiple shots" glitch, no factory glitch. basically don't do anything that's not intended by the developer + all religious cities. I am not good with mouse handling but it takes me about 25 mins, want to see how well you do (probably faster).
I bet a lot longer lol, but that could fun to figure out! I wonder if uplifting and buying a purple spice planet with a monolith that has 10 cities or finding several purple spice planets and putting 3 colonies on them would be faster to generate more spice!
@@KinglyValence That's exactly what I mean lol. Even if the run isn't done, because who would want to go through that torture, it would be cool to see theory crafting on how long it would take considering optimal gameplay and so forth! Kind of similar to a Minecraft video by Jokeypokey
well what you think they want a sporebucks overflow into the negatives (you actually can have negative sporebucks as you can get it in civilization using glitches)
I remember trying to do this as a kid and failing. I tried one last time and i got a weird glitch where the planet with the crash looked just like earth, and when the camera panned to the crash site it couldn't find it and went on infinitely. I gave up after that. It's been a while so I might be remembering a detail wrong
@@KinglyValence This was from maybe 9 years ago, unfortunately I don't have the game anymore. I was on windows, I'm not sure if it happens on mac or not
What would the route look like without spice duplication? Just unlock monolith, fanatical frenzy the resulting homeworld, and basically do the same selling loop?
If I start from Space Stage I might have to buy the star system from the uplifted empire since I wouldn't have the Fanatical Frenzy, but that may work. Unlocking the Monolith takes either Traveler 2 or Zoologist 2 to unlock, so I'd have to see if a 10 city purple spice planet with the extra waiting time of getting the Monolith could be faster than finding several purple spice planets and placing 3 colonies on them. But that could be interesting to figure out!
Have you unlocked the Frequent Flyer badge? That will unlock the Interstellar Drives that increase the jump travel distance. Starting out the ship can only just 3 parsecs at a time, which is super small.
The galaxy file is located in the Roaming folder in Windows. Search "%appdata%" into Windows search and the folder "Spore" contains the galaxy. Rename, move, or delete the folder and the game will generate a brand new one when launched! :)
@@KinglyValence a continuation of the above question: what all ways can one saved game take colonies from another? Not the homeworld, but the colonies. The Spode Empire has used their SoL to drive The Grox out of 42 systems and I'm debating whether I should have the Spode take over those systems to avoid them declaring war on each other or of I should have the Groxington empire speedrun there to take them over directly Edit: after checking the wiki, I took a calculated risk and it payed off. Fanatical Frenzy enabled the handoff
I'm not sure about an every badge route, some badges are harder like the Wonderland Wander badge requires finding storybook planets which are randomly generated and pretty rare, so it may be too hard to route reliably. There are speedruns of just filling the Progress Bar that only requires 275 badge points, which is less than the total available that takes about an hour that I've been working on :)
The specific mission type ones will take a while, wonderland wanderer is luck based, collecting rares is a lot of running around, having to change archetypes six times requires that you build up allies, and the joker badge is a thing (though I wonder if such a run will allow cheats, or if you'd have to get that one last.) However, Badge Outta Heck for defeating the Grox will take longer than all of those combined.
Check out the full version of both speedruns here:

This is one of my proudest 'non-achievement achievements' I've done and you just do it in less time than it takes me to make dinner?!

Your videos are amazing and made me download spore again for the first time in 5 years
I can only hope that you are the lead producer of the hypothetical new Spore.
i throught pink, green and purple spices were same worthly my entire life, but u proved me wrong, damnn
The Dragoozi Empire is slowly ruining its economy because of your trade deal…
I love how easily exploitable Spore is just for taking well over a second to process stuff.
This video made my day! To be fair, every video you made did.
full blue pitiful worm run WHENN?!?! I'm dying for it king!
The timer at the bottom is making my browser plugin that resizes videos to my screen (I have a 21x9 monitor) absolutely spaz out.

In other news, the sporebuck is now worth nothing. You'd be better of trading with dirt.
