First you want to stop the mouth piece up with a ear plug get some sandwich plastic wrap you got wrap it at the mouthpiece 7:32 stop it up pour odor ban in it mixed with water let soak for 30 minutes to an hour then you pour the cleaning mix out the shofar let it air out mix you some olive oil and frankincense and myrrh or lavender in the oil after it dries out from cleaning it out if you don't have these things cinnamon sticks or crushed lemon peels or orange peels or you can use red cloves these are good cheap tricks for sanitation of your shofar and getting the smell bay leaves kills odor you can put a couple of bays leaves in your shofar it got the odor out of mine in a about a week the odor should be gone oh I left this out at cleaning the shofar wrap the plastic sandwich wrap around the mouth piece get you a rubber band to keep the plastic wrap in place and the ear plug will seal off the water it want be no leaks when cleaning your shofar..... Use a heat gun and you can melt the tip of your mouthpiece to shape it for your mouth
