A tip from me. You respawned and going to the point, half of your team is dead, the other half is dying. Stop. (Write to your team to regroup.) Wait for everyone to respawn. Regroup. Go together. Otherwise you all just go in one by one to die.

This is exactly what I was doing until I found out that I do way better with more teammates around me. Before it was the mentality of " I need to get back to my teammates!" I've seen a lot of "tips" videos for this game and I haven't seen anyone stress that you need to hang back after you KO and wait for your team.
You're so right about metas. People get so hung up on tier lists and strategies. If you're playing quick match for especially, people shouldn't care so much about this stuff.
As a complete noob to shooters (I've literally never played a game where you have to aim in a 3D environment lmao), this was sooo helpful, especially when you listed the objectives of each role. People told me to "just play" but I literally had no idea what to do in relation to the objective. Thank you so much! Subbed x
I'm glad you put the one about metas first because that's something a lot of people get tricked into in competitive games. I remember I used to play MTG and my local hobby store and some guys would get mad because they would lose using pro tour meta decks. In the meantime people who didn't do that and played to the local meta would win more consistently

Pro tip: stop walking through Peni Parker's webs. Don't even think about touching the web, if the Peni player knows what they are doing, you will die as soon as you make contact with the web. So don't even go near the stuff if you can avoid it.

This is a good video about keeping your experience with the game positive as much as possible. However, i disagree with teir lists only mattering in the top 1% of players. In this game especially now there are characters like hela, hawkeye, psylocke, and Winter Soldier taking over. The other 2 roles i think can play pretty much whatever but for dps players you should really look at these characters first because they are that strong. Not saying you cant rank up with other characters but getting 2 tapped by a hela and getting 1 tapped by a hawkeye is extremely powerful
Amazing video, great reminder that "meta" is only for tournament competitive play. billy bob in Tennessee doesnt know how to animation cancel or hit every hawkeye head shot, so you're probably fine picking iron man or any character that isnt considered top tier, honestly even in diamond iron man can get disgusting stuff and there's just no reason to not play your favorite characters/who you think is the most fun to play, a combo of those two will keep you on a game for years, games are about having fun, winning is just really nice. Even better when you do it with your favorite characters.
I wish videos like this were mandatory viewing lol. Just today I had a QM team that ran around the point hitting groot while he was getting pocketed by Mantis and Jeff. Literally they would run right by the healers to keep hitting groot. Maybe a video on tunneling lol
About that part at 5:41, looking at the stat screen and “finding value” out of the stat screen is a huge trap for new players, one that I fell into a lot. Just because that Star Lord has more or less elims, more or less deaths, who cares, because a Star Lord has to play a flank and harass role while you will sit back and fire down main. It doesn’t tell an accurate story and could lead players into believing that a stats screen is the end all be all of performance.
Great video, one thing I would add is no to insist on playing specific role, it might be tempting to focus on one hero and master it but filling role in your team makes team so much better and is rewarding when you get a win.
A good support can do both in some matches not all. Depends on the matchups and competition. I've got mvp allot with Mantis and C/D with the most heals and kills.
Mantis main here. I try to play support first but when u have 4 projectile DPS and nobody is pushing objective u sometimes have to flex into a more aggressive role. Meanwhile the same DpS players provide no protection for backline healers when opp dps dive the whole match. They also get way out of pocket and get pissed when I cant heal them due to distance or no LOS. Btw i started as a day 1 dps player but quickly pivoted realizing that most players are wannabe streamers who think it's TDM when tanks and healers actually deliver the most team utility.
I just recently soared my way to gold when I was hardstuck bronze till a few hours ago. I wanted to main Luna Snow and Jeff The Shark since I like the Healer roles in RPGs. But I just couldn't win my games since I had no peel for when i get 2 man dove, our duelist were incompetent and dealt no dmg and our Vanguards are not playing to enter site. So I switched to Squirrel Girl to make up for the useless duelist lockers I always get. I consistantly get the highest dmg in the team (10K+) while the useless duelists still barely hit 5k. But I still can't win when my Vanguards won't enter site or just enter and insta die. So I switched to Thor, I can initiate plays, I can tank dmg, I can deal dmg and I can peel for the Strategist thats getting dove. I need a competent healer for it to work but it filled all the holes I was not getting from playing Luna, Jeff or Squirrel Girl. Im now mainly playing Thor and In silver and gold, I would hop between those 4 heros/roles depending on how bad my teammates are playing those role and if I can afford to drop the role I was playing in. Play the game and find what you are lacking and what the team isn't doing good enough and see if you can fill that role. Don't just randomly jump roles mid game, especially when you don't know how the hero works. Ive seen so many Duelist hop into Vanguard, run in and die and switch to strategist, get bored and switch to duelist again
Told someone to go healer in comp and bro literally had a meltdown swearing and throwing, ended up going healer and still refused to heal me, ranked up to gold 1 shortly after
I only experience frustration because people are complete jerks, I truly believe this game shouldn’t have take. Off because all of these evil souled over watch sweats just swung over and started bullying everyone
What's the best way to be able to play vanguard or duellist in ranked? What I mean is that i nearly always have to fill as a strategist because others wont. how do I get around always having to change roles for the win vs having a chance to play a different role.
I said it once ill say it a million times. There is no such thing as a meta. What works for you wont work for everyone else and what works for others wont always work for you. What there is, is a lack of creativity and people just looking up guides for everything instead of figuring out what works best for them.
My personal tier list is my own and I keep it to myself. Punisher is my best DPS. I just love gunning em down, even if it doesn't kill. I'm a threat even to the divers because I'm always somewhere in the middle of the team, or the back with my turret. My shotgun's effective against the flankers or tanks that get up close.
My dude, meta just means easier to get the most value....The higher you the harder non meta characters will be to climb with. That is why they are considered meta.
@@poplovegamingStar Lord IS S tier (or at least A tier) since his mobility and flank potential is very high. The problem here is not IF he is S Tier or not, it is WHY they say he is S tier. If IGN says he is S Tier because he can fly and shoot and does damage, then that would be idiotic. If IGN says he is S Tier because of his hyper mobility, game winning ult that builds fast, and insane 1v1 potential. Then that would be more accurate to me.
The invitational has Star lord playing all around, Tier are what the mass find easy to master and the pro says so. Every character in this game can be S tier in the right hand,
