Blimey, I used to watch the Open University programs as a kid in the 1970's, now, as an electronics engineer, it was fascinating to see this old program on TV electronics, I wish I could find the rest of the OU T321 TV series. Thanks for putting it online Paul
Unfortunately I probably don’t. Originally I had over 600 tapes from 1980 through till the mid-90s but a large number of them were lost due to water leakage about 15 years ago. I’ve been attempting to recover the tapes that weren’t too badly damaged over the past 5 years and after writing off three VHS machines in the process I’ve now finished copying off as much material as possible and now have to find time to view the files to find what is actually on the tapes. I do this whenever I have time and then post the videos up. Unfortunately quite a few recently have been blocked due to various TH-cam community rules or copyright infringements when music tracks or clips are claimed to be unusable by the copyright owners.

Fantastic to see this again. The OU were (and still are) first class in delivering teaching and facilitating learning.
This OU programme is a good guide to those who are training to work as television engineers.
Brilliant

Sorry to hear that. I've lost large parts of my collections over the years due to various factors too. It's heartbreaking.
Damn thats a shame.
Did they purposely give him a script with a lot of Rs just to see him struggle?
Did anyone else spot the RBM A823A jig at 10:00.
Yes it was marvelous and wonderful
Thanks for posting this video Paul. Do you happen to have the other TV programme parts from T321, especially the material that covered teletext?
"The diagwams, the chwominance, the weceiver..." Bloke in the brown shirt probably used to work at Wadio Wentals. Or maybe Wediffusion.
This is how telly should be.
Education for its sake
Even if it’s a bit mentwal
Every bit as riveting as it was back then. 😂
