You are so sweet Alisha. Thank you :) by the way if you practise with your hoop enough, over a period of time the abrasion of the tape would want you to untape the hoop and put a fresh one. :P I am sure I am going to see that day sooner or later in your #hoopJourney :D
Nice :) I love those that diy. If you’re really in a sticky pickle with the tapes and don’t mind terrible chemicals acetone works well too with steel wool
Very valid question. Should have maybe explained it in the video. 😅 thanks! So, most of the taped practise hoops get chipped after a time . We apply tapes on the hoops not only so it looks good but also to increase the durability of the hoop. The tubing is protected from abrasion by the think layer of these tapes. Most of the practise hoop tapes will wear off which creates a resistance of grip. You should untape your practise hoop tapes every 6 months and tape it with a new one to increase the durability of the product and give a new look/colour. I usually apply fresh tapes on all my performance hoops because my best kind of hoops are the ones that I practise with. Another reason why I change the tapes regularly and esp with new tapes is because new tapes have no scratches and it reflects better in sunlight and other lights. Hope I managed to explain it here 😅
Govind Agrawal Just replied to punya’s comment above. Please read it. In short, It’s just one of the ways you take care of your hoops to make sure your durability and look is maintained.
Thanks for questioning. It’s useful and insightful for me. Beginning to understand the gaps of knowledge through this and it helps me understand what I can do to bridge this. Appreciate your feedback Punya and Govind. 🙏🏼
I don’t think I’ve ever going to un tape a hoop. But, gosh! You’re so pretty.

Now, how to tape it again ?
There are so many videos on that by other hoopers. I guess this was important because it is such a tedious process.
