Awesome video! I bet a lot of people are re-thinking their axle & wheel set up. BTW, Rubicat looks great! Thanks for posting all the pics on your website! Very informative.
Good Info , This is one of the things I could not grasp while in school .. Scrub Radius , and Ahriman Angle .. Now I understand one , just have to learn the other ...
It's "Ackerman", and has to do with steering arm angle vs wheelbase to get the front tires to not scrub when turning, since they each have to roll at a different radius Google is your friend
Wheels he explained it in the video. How that changes with suspension changes is what I am interested I aswell now and how we can modify to insure the scrub radius is correct
Hey um thinking about using a spacer for my car. It a 2016 Dodge Charger. Is there any way I can use a spacer with having a bad scrub spacer? What size of tire would I use to have a positive scrub radius.
So, why not make the steering axis inclination such that the scrub radius is zero...for say the most common tire size...say 35".. ? What problems would that introduce..?
The best explanation of scrub radius I have ever come across in my research of the topic. Now it makes sense to me.
Awesome! Glad we could share this with you 😎
From someone who uses Solidworks I can tell you that is a truck load of hours to make that model. Make me glad that I got a Pro Rock under my XJ.
Pro Rock under my XJ as well. 2000 XJ with Pro Rock 44 up front with RCV shafts. Bulletproof for 35's and I'll never go bigger

great informational video !
was interesting !
Maybe I missed it, but what diameter tire is depicted here? Holding all else equal, scrub radius will decrease as you increase diameter.
How do I figure out my scrub radius after I’ve messed with suspension, wheels, and tires??

I want to know if a positive scrub radius of 10mm is bad? I want to give my mom my oem Lexus IS250 wheels to her ES350.

They are on stock vehicles. This is a 1550 joint knuckle, made for 40"+ tires.
This can make it wobble, there fore its avoided
Sorry so I didnt understand does it mean u want ur axle and tire as far back I don't understand what he's saying
