I'm might wrong but after watching a few videos it seems to me that Monica's artistic delicacy and Freddie's enthousiasme towards the bikes make a great match in this project.
It's not a horsrace like in case of some other reviews or opinion videos.
There is less testosterone here, tranquility passes trough the screen especially during those lovely B-rolls. Great vibes and ballance between bikes and the often charming surroundings.
That's exactly what most of us😊 are looking for on classical looking bikes.
It would be actually quite interesting to know who edit these videos and matches that great music.
(I've got an idea, but just to be sure. 🤭)

DRL = Daylight/time Running Light. Also the usbs are usually under the seat even on newer triumphs as it saves the port from the elements. You are topically suppose to by a usb a to a extension for the handle bars. I appreciate your random rants on history. When i do them my Mrs. hates it unfortunately. If you ever visit LA. Let me know, coffee on me at the Bike Shed and ill show you some old military bases.

very nice Freddie. this particular angle could be something fairly original for you as a content producer. as an American I quite like this sort of slice of life or history bit from Britain, and this one gets into a place I'd have little or no opportunity to know about even if I were visiting your country. doing it from the motorcyclist angle is yet more unique. thanks a bunch to you and Monica! her production values really do add a lot.

      Hi Freddie & Monika,
The bit where you mentioned, possibly the old runway looks too narrow. I would guess it may be the old Perry track aka perimeter track. They still have them on military airfields. Had to get permission from the tower aka goldfish bowl to cross them.

Tech hungry consumers will love the TFT Screen with all that info on display, but on a Scram l think a single old fashion speedo would be more suitable or even optional for 2k less.
I often wonder are TFT DISPLAYS another Big Brother invention to spy on road users.
Speeding and parking tickets may well be sent via your own TFT.
No belly plate or rear mudguard on this Scrambler but you do get a TFT DISPLAY 😮
Are motorcycle handlebars becoming cluttered with Digital information 🤔 Quad Locks 😮 Heated Grips 😅 Sat Navs. I have nothing like this on my 2002 honda cb 500s just a rev counter and speedo.
My iPhone goes in my pocket , never to be looked at until I've stopped.
Are we becoming obsessed with technology..

Depends. That concrete was not the runway. It was also too narrow to be a taxiway. Probably just a service road maybe to Air Traffic Control etc. Pear trees would take years and years to grow to that size and produce that much fruit. Could well of been there during WW2. I wish the tree could talk to us! 😊

DRL is for Daytime Running Lights.
Mpg is easily found in the Display submenu. You can choose whether or not to show it on your home screen.
The Ducati display and interface is very easy to learn and use. You have to be completely untechnical if you can't follow the simple steps.

  • @alexmorgan3435
    @alexmorgan3435 ปีที่แล้ว +3

All that non intuitive tech, a USB plug under the seat so practically useless and horrendous servicing costs just confirms to me why I could never buy a Ducati.
When you said a lovely spot for a coffee .......... an industrial estate wasn't the first place that popped into my mind. I was thinking more along the lines of a quaint old cafe in a Suffolk village perhaps a listed building many hundreds of years old with low ceilings. oak beams and small doorways, home made food, cakes and buns with mugs of coffee the size of buckets.
The history of the air field was interesting. Indeed there were lots following the second world war also in Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire and other neighbouring counties.
You should try and get across to Duxford or the Shuttleworth Museum and possibly do videos from these. I think you would like the historic vehicle, military vehicle perspective as well as the planes themselves.
Good to see you wearing proper gear again.
    Good camera work by Monika.

Interested in your opinion Freddie - I just came off a Harley Davidson Fat Bob (rental) which I rode for 4300km through California/Nevada/Arizona in only 14 days. Never really ridden a bike before and was a little scared at the beginning of the trip but after those two weeks the Fat Bob and me have become one. Now I want a bike for myself and always liked the Ducati Scramblers looks. So I did a test ride of the Icon 2023 recently and then looked at an almost new Nightshift 2022...unfortunately after the Fat Bob this thing feels like a tiny bicycle in comparison. It was an easy ride and I can see how it´s perfect for my daily city commute but I could not get over the missing sound, the thin handle bar and the overall feeling of flimsiness in comparison. Arguably the Fat Bob costs twice as much and it´s not the right bike to commute. Long story short - do you think I could fall in love with the bike over time...maybe customize the handle bar and exhaust? I understand it will never be a Fat Bob and I don't need it to 🙂- just wondering if it´s a bad idea to buy a motorcycle which was love at first sight but not on first ride?

I like the Ducati but I wouldn't buy one, other manufacturers produce great eye candy machines for less money, I like the look of the Triumph Trident 660.
Anyway a point of interest Freddie, today I returned from cruising the western Med for a couple of weeks, two of the things I watch out for besides the touristy bits is the birds (feathered type) and what motorcycles people are riding, Ajaccio in Corsica really caught my attention the other day and I'd say eight out of ten motorcycles were tourers and they were everywhere all kitted up for serious touring, mainly BMWs, Hondas, Triumphs and others, not many Ducatis but my thoughts are that Corsica is a motorcyclist's touring Mecca? Just a seed planted if you both should consider to explore there whilst enjoying the sunshine?
By the way I'd not watched anything from you for two weeks so didn't know where you both were, I was in Barcelona yesterday and as weird as it is I kept an eye out for you both on La Rambla and the side streets just hoping you were both there as it's one of your regular haunts. Sad I know. LOL. Ride safe.

Loved the tour today! You guys are doing great showing us around Ipswich. I’m from the Yorkshire and trust me it’s equally as beautiful as Suffolk. Definitely, would be exploring soon the East side.
And by the way DRL stands for Daytime running light :)

Wonderful video as always. Our local manor house also got knocked down in the 1950s - when the owners died they either ran out of heirs due to World War II or couldn't pay the death duties or a combination of both. By 1949 the government took 80% on taxable amounts over £1,000,000 as Estate duty, payable on transfer of assets at death.

And another great video from both of you, love the mix of bikes and the countryside and a bit of history, I thought I knew suffolk well but I’ve never heard of Boulge before, and BTW DRL means daytime running lights.

I'd love you to put the scrambler next to an original 1996 Ducati Il Monstro 900. A true work of art and what a younger me's dreams were made of.

As a relative Suffolk newbie wasn't aware of this former airfield thats only 10 miles from me.
Think the Scrambler looks a nice bike, but test rode a couple of years ago and wasn't for me. Cheers Freddie and Monica

It's interesting how much difference a colour makes. The yellow looks so much better to me. Whatever the colour, it looks great from the front like all bikes with round headlights. 4:40 Great storage units. Suffolk probably hasn't changed. No bad thing. I wouldn't buy any high-tech bike. Who needs one? DRL: Datime running lights? My mechanic in Thailand services his own Ducati race bikes. His charge for a service. Around 2 pounds 30 an hour. I hope the Ducati doesn't break down.

That Ducati would with all that tech would do my head in, I just want simple. A £ 1000. Service would be a big no no from me. The ‘stone thing’ in the Church is the ‘Font’ used for Christening.

The big storage company the other side of the cafe is alll built along the main old runway there. Think the units you stopped by was built on a smaller runway. Have a look on Google maps, looks more obvious from above. 👍👍

Hi Freddie and Monika. Another really enjoyable countryside jaunt. I love the sense of history we have in the UK visiting old castles and ruins and thinking of those who lived there years and years ago. Being from Cornwall, I always love your Falmouth videos. What’s become of the Bonneville? Last I saw it was being repaired. Hope it’s ok.

I saw this bike at the Motorcycle Show last Spring, and all I could think is why didn't Triumph put an exhaust like that on the Trident and could I get one for the Trident... Anyway, DRL is Daytime Running Lights.

Hi Freddie, the old piece in the church is called a 'Font', used for Christian baptisms, (now known (badly) as naming ceremonies. It seems to be tradition that when a new church is built to replace a previous church, the font is usually moved from old to new.
