    And it wouldn't have anything to do with Dunedin having a large population of young uni students, partying without their parents supervision for the first time?

    Would love to see a piece testing drugs so we can get an idea of the combination of analogues and research chemicals they are actually taking and what percentage actually is MDMA

      Kia ora Chris! We made this video last year about that. Video is called '1 in 3 drugs sold in New Zealand aren’t what you think' hope that helps give you some insight!

    Queenstown and Dunedin have a higher proportion of MDMA/ecstasy use than anywhere else in the country,

      Rich ski tourists pay a lot for it in Queenstown. Like $100 for a cap. Thats why a lot of dealers target Queenstown. Only rich people there looking to have adventure.

    • @NowhereMan7
      @NowhereMan7 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its price has come down drastically in last 20 years. A gram used to be $450 or thereabouts. Now there is a glut with sellers happy to dip below $200. I think I've heard of $100 for gram before, with is literally 10X what it was in 2005 in some places with people buying 100mg caps for $100.
      There is certainly crap out there but how you can become qualified to speak on all the MDMA within this countries borders is beyond me. Which/who's "trash" MDMA represents the entire country?

    Go Dunedin! One city that hasn’t been partially destroyed by meth.

    • @NowhereMan7
      @NowhereMan7 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dunedin is precisely one city that HAS been partially destroyed by meth. I get your meaning though - its not as bad here as elsewhere and mostly kept to Dunedins underbelly. Make no mistake though, there is a lot of it here and it is #1 on the polices concerns regarding drugs as it is everywhere else.
      You can live your whole life and here and never know about the flipside of Dunedin. The people who's day and night are one - they will drive their car at 2.30am on a weekday, call a mate to say hello at 5am. Human decency goes out the window in these networks of addicts. Men beating up women, mothers breastfeeding while using, drug activity around children, associations with violent offenders, gang members, no hopers who spend their lives in a cycle of crime and jail.
      They will rip anyone off and sell anyone out in their never ending day to day "dramas". Noone is a real friend, allegiances change constantly, people make decisions after being awake for 3-4 days, bad decisions.
      They have truly shitty lives. I have seen into that world and it is frightening. While society as a whole progresses forward, and people use their brains for work, or getting errands complete, or socialising, and for hobbies and interests, a meth user thinks about petty feuds and "dramas". Who said what about who and how dare they say so.
      Who could they rip off/what could they steal and resell to afford more meth. How far away is their benefit day?
      Most of it seems to be on the outer suburbs, especially south: Caversham, Carlton Hill, Corstorphine, Green Island, Mosgiel... and onto Milton, Balclutha.
      What is the actual solution? Just keep up the police verse the meth world battle for ever?
      You can make for more severe punishment, even for casual use, or you can go the other way and allow legalise it through pharmacies selling it in a highly controlled way. This would collapse the black market and 90% of gang activities overnight. And give users pharmaceutical grade meth hopefully with a case worker that can monitor and assist users in recovering.

      Who is "they"?
      "Bath Salts" is an umbrella term used for a lot of the synthetic drugs created nowadays that mimic MDMA and other amphetamines. There are so many designer drugs that are very close in feeling. 4-Fluoroamphetamine, Methcathinone, Mephedrone and Methylone etc.
      I think the term came from people labeling new designer drugs as "bath salts" for Customs who at the time did not know what these drugs were. Its not a useful word for catagorising drugs though - it just caught on with the public as an undesirable adulterant mixed into, or in place of the drugs we know, MDMA, Cocaine, Meth etc
      Obviously its preferable to know what you are taking but a dealer with Mephedrone or Methylone can sell it as "E" without being misleading in my opinion. People looking for MDMA will find these indistinguishable if not even better - depending on many factors.
      A seller is going to have much greater success moving the products by calling them the names people know like MDMA. "Bath Salts" has a reputation as a cheap dangerous filler, but Methcathinone for example is very popular in the UK.
      Bottom line is: Having your drugs tested and seeing that it's not MDMA but rather "bath salts" is not necessarily a bad thing (from the view of a person who is just looking to get high) as made out to be.

      @@8029x You need to find better mates. Pure molly... it's like drinking pints of absinthe compared to a beer. Always tested every dose, even from the same dealer as $40 bucks for a test can save your life. Pure still gets off the boat here in NZ.
      I was rolling for more time in a year than I was sober for, that shite pulled me in solid due to medicating on it from mental health issues. Sober now days after a long climb from the roll.
      On a side note, in my experience, Bath Salts ain't half bad, each one has it's place and a different way of enjoyment. Just what they are, not being used to cut or fraudulently sold.
