    I've noticed it's all the BLUE places segregating kids....maybe there's a connection there.

      Yes, areas that vote blue are typically cities where a high number of black and brown people live. Why? Redlining, white flight, and segregation forced them into these areas and then they stayed there because economic mobility was not awarded to them to move to suburbs (loans, jobs, educational opportunities, inherited capital was reserved for the white folk).
      Also, both Dems and Reps vote in the interest of the wealthy class.
