Oh myyy! Do them! These exercises and what my PT is having me do(just had ACL knee/meniscus surgery on my knee early November) which is a couple of these as well are helping me regain the strength I lost before surgery (I couldn't walk as well as I could/should, couldn't do the elliptical machine, even the row machine was hurting my knee and I had the torn meniscus as long as you had) and let me tell you the WORSE pain is the first two weeks of PT.... BUT ..... But it will get better, especially if you do them at home as well. I was on pain meds as well and I'm not taking them as much which is wonderful. Keep doing the movements and exercises to strengthen your quads, calves, etc(pretty much all your leg muscles) before surgery as much as you can and the PT will be easier. You can do it! Happy New Year!

Thanks for these properly structured exercises, and your very clear instructions. By far the best I've found. Turns out I have bone on bone osteoarthritis on both knees. The standard exercises I was given by my physiotherapist, which came from the Arthritis Society were poorly structured, with most too loadbearing and which did my knees more harm than good - I think they were tailored for people with very mild arthtitis but out of condition muscles, not severe arthritis. Your exercises, by contrast, have really helped. I also have neurological weakness in my right leg, and by systematically going through each muscle group your exercises have identified that the weakness / fatigue is primarily in my hip abductor muscles / glutes. I am managing to gradually strengthen them too, and can mark the progress thanks to your exercise program. My neurologist and physiotherapist merely identified weakness in the right leg but gave no help on where the issue was, or on suitable exercises! I have added in a clamshell exercise for additional glute strengthening. For the moment I'm managing to hold off the knee replacement operations. I'm now about to start your hip stretching and strengthening exercises as I have some hip osteoarthritis. They look well structured too. Hoping to have as good results from them as I've had with your knee exercises.

Hi there🙂🙂 ... I have seen your videos and these are quite helpful 👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. I really appreciate this video because I have a meniscus tear and the surgeon wants to do surgery and I don't, I fell 4 months ago that's how it happened. I do some these already but not all, and the past three weeks I have added walking, only 16 to 19 minutes so far because it hurts, but I think it's helping. I am 75 years old and don't want surgery if I can avoid it. Thanks for all you do, Pammy
Hi Pammy! Sorry to hear about your knee. Please keep in mind that depending on the LOCATION and SIZE of the tear - it MAY require surgical intervention. However I recommend EVERYONE try conservative (stretching and strengthening) care before going in for surgery. I hope these help you!
Sarah Nelson, I came here for the same reason. I hurt my left knee doing star jumps and rolling over on my ankle, 3 years ago. I run and if I do more than 3 miles, my knee hurts and swells, feels super tight and painful. I really want to be able to run long distances again. Did this resolve your issues?

@1andonlyfaxz787 It's actually healed up quite well. I started these exercises and backward walking up hills, and I can now squat jump and squat weights. Thank you for asking. This helped me come back to when I thought I'd never heal, it's crazy.
@@kionkasoka4964 Man congratulations bro it's great to see you've experienced a large margin of recovery, wishing the best for real. if you dont mind me asking, could i know some details regarding how long it had took to feel better and how often the exercises were done? its awesome to hear you can do squats and heck even with weights 💪 i also wanted to know if you participate in any sports or so because personally its been 10 months since I've injured my knee from an awkward landing and i suspect its related with the meniscus as my physiotherapist had said ive got symptoms of it because its both the lateral sides of my knee and i miss playing football and gained some weight and stuff so like i want to get back and recover pretty nicely so any tips or so would be highly appreciated. I am so sorry for this long of a comment but keep rocking, hope the knee is back to normal again. although my ortho doc hasn't mentioned anything about meniscus Its almost obvious it is because it ticks all the boxes for the type of pain felt 😂 a mistake i made was not following through and being consistent with the exercises and it might've delayed the recovery by a long time but now im trying. the ortho mentioned with gradual exercise and slow transition into more advanced stuff i can get back after having a look at my mri but its felt pretty bad considering how long it's been. Anyway god bless bro
@@kionkasoka4964 man its great to hear you're feeling good bro, especially how you can now do squats and more, keep rocking man. if you dont mind could i know how often did you use to exercise and how long it took to feel like before again? and if you participate in any sports? because personally its been 10 months and i really miss playing football. wishing you the best brother hopefully everything is recovered now. any tips would be highly appreciated
@1andonlyfaxz787 Hey bro, thanks so much. It is definitely worth the time and patience put into doing these exercises regularly. I reinjured my knee in February this year, I dealt with it for a week before going to see a physio therapist who gave me a couple low impact exercises to do which I coupled with these ones in this video. I wish I had that piece of paper to share the small workout, but it had stuff like wall sits for 30sec 5sets and a single leg balance stance or whatever you call them. But yeah, 2 weeks after, my knee felt a lot stronger. I then included the backward hills walks, and about 2 months after, I found I could squat, jump squat, and weighted squats without pain. But definitely go along with how your body is responding to the exercises and *very* slowly increase intensity. I'm sure you know this as you play football. Sorry about that mate, I hope you do heal up and get back on the field. Ps: I'm sportless. Just workout to keep fit for my job. Do keep me updated on how it goes. Just stay consistent with it! 💯🤝
I practice yoga. I have been practicing for 6 months and i am fairly flexable. My right kneecap hurts only when i sit criss cross applesauce with my keft shin in front of my right. I had no issues doing any if these stretches. Do youhave any advice? It has not hurt in the past.
Wow! Dr.thank you so much for sharing this great video. I just saw this , and started doing all your exercises for miniscus tear, which I am suffering from last 5 months. I'm feeling better and better. God bless you abundantly and your family.🙏
Thank you for this comment and thank you Dr Jared! I am 70 years old and have been suffering with several meniscus tears for about 2mos. I am presently in PT, but these exercises seem to be helping a lot!! Thanks a million!!
I realized with these excersizes that my upper leg was not as strong as I thought, and being a soccer player this is huge...that by strengthening all the muscles around your knee, you align and protect this inner knee area
hey man indeed many people skip over strengthening that part and end up in trouble have you by any chance suffered from a meniscus tear or youre just following this for strengthening? if yes could i get some tips as ive been injured for the past 10 months and really miss playing football
25 years? Pain in weather change? You just killed me 😭 I’m worried. I tore mine 3 months ago and I’m doing therapy on my own. I didn’t get surgery it’s just a partial tear but idk if it’s getting better, I still have pain and can’t bend my knee all the way :(
@@BellahBoo don't worry, I'm sure that it will improve with time and exercise. I've neglected myself and haven't done any physio or stretching for 20 years after the injury. But I've started recently and the progress is good. I'm sure you'll be a lot better in 20 years time since you've already started your recovery. Good luck.

You are so welcome!
Hi Jared,
Thank you for the comprehensive knee stabilizing exercises. I had meniscus surgery six weeks ago. I found your video a couple of weeks ago an have been doing the your go-to exercises up to now. I must say my knee confidence and reduction of pain is steadily improving. Should I do the series of all the reps more than once a day?
Thanks again
Hi can you explain is there any problem after surgery I'm asking this because my doctor told me for surgery and I'm very nervous.
How are you now and how was your knee pain
Hi there🙂🙂 ... I have seen your videos and these are quite helpful 👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. I wanted to ask more about knee strengthening.... 5 months back I had to undergo arthroscopy surgery for PCL and meniscus repair. I am walking fine, and my range of motion is good now .... but the problem is when I walk continuously or stand for more than 10 minutes it starts hurting ... I feel my knee is still weak. I can't walk the stairs up and down. what exercises do I have to follow to strengthen the knee and reduce the pain of the knee
Thank you so much doctor .... Very very helpful this video 👍🔥🔥🔥✨
My pleasure!
Thanks doc. This realy healped me alot
Happy to help!
I don't have anything to say to you but a bug THANK YOU!!! You have been so informative. 👍👍👍👍👍👍😀😀😀

Helloo! Im Monica, im from India. I have recently discovered that i have a meniscus tear on my left knee. This video has been a great help. Would like to ask if i regular squats/lunges/jacks or activities like running/cycling is advised in a meniscus tear?
Nothing will happen with the exercise

@@toneandtighten I am starting to see some healing since I added the walking and I am going to continue with the exercises, thanks so much :)
Hi thanks I had knee injury many years ago My cross tendon has injured would you please teach me how to manage by exercises many thanks
Thank you so much! I am starting today and very hopeful! My injury was 3years ago, and my knee swells after exercising.
You are welcome, Sarah! I hope these are helpful!
Sarah Nelson, I came here for the same reason. I hurt my left knee doing star jumps and rolling over on my ankle, 3 years ago. I run and if I do more than 3 miles, my knee hurts and swells, feels super tight and painful. I really want to be able to run long distances again. Did this resolve your issues?
sir thanks alot. it was wonderful..i felt nice right after 1st set according to your video.
how many more days i should repeat this routine? please reply
Wow! Great video.
Thanks for the exercises.
Glad you like them!
Is this also helpful if you need to strengthen your knee from a dislocated injury (years ago)? When I run by knee hurts on the outside. Or could you do a vid on strengthening the area and muscles for a dislocated knee injury?
Thank you so much 💕
I torn my meniscus a month ago and there is some inflammation around my knee , should I wait until inflammation is total gone before I start doing these exercises ? Thanks for the amazing video !
Hello sir
I hav started to follow your exercises
Hopefully I can feel the difference 😊
Can you please teach us some exercises for the wrist pain
Informative Vid as always....Exercise #2 Quad set Is where my knee prob lies, when I Tense the Quad and push down on kneecap I feel pain.
I tore my meniscus playing tennis. Thank you for the exercises. I do them daily. Do you recommend swimming and cycling for the meniscus tear?
It helped. Thanks
Question.. How long would it take before it should heal and become stronger with these exercises?
Will i be able to jump again? 😢
how is it now bro
@1andonlyfaxz787 It's actually healed up quite well. I started these exercises and backward walking up hills, and I can now squat jump and squat weights. Thank you for asking. This helped me come back to when I thought I'd never heal, it's crazy.
@@kionkasoka4964 Man congratulations bro it's great to see you've experienced a large margin of recovery, wishing the best for real. if you dont mind me asking, could i know some details regarding how long it had took to feel better and how often the exercises were done? its awesome to hear you can do squats and heck even with weights 💪
i also wanted to know if you participate in any sports or so because personally its been 10 months since I've injured my knee from an awkward landing and i suspect its related with the meniscus as my physiotherapist had said ive got symptoms of it because its both the lateral sides of my knee and i miss playing football and gained some weight and stuff so like i want to get back and recover pretty nicely so any tips or so would be highly appreciated.
Sir ,i have meniscus grade 2 can I do this exercise
I am getting my operation soon. l am in so much pain. l will try these when l recover thank you 😊
Best of luck!
I am so glad you are feeling better and thanks for sharing!
Mine went away pretty much instantly too
Well thanks doc ❤️ it helped m
You are welcome! I am so glad it helped!
Thank you so much, I couldn't move my knee but after 2 days of doing these exercises, I could move it with minimal pain
You're so welcome!
Thank you so much
I feel much much better
You are welcome, Victor! I am glad these exercises helped you!
I realized with these excersizes that my upper leg was not as strong as I thought, and being a soccer player this is huge...that by strengthening all the muscles around your knee, you align and protect this inner knee area
❤
hey man indeed many people skip over strengthening that part and end up in trouble
have you by any chance suffered from a meniscus tear or youre just following this for strengthening? if yes could i get some tips as ive been injured for the past 10 months and really miss playing football
Will try all of these workouts and update you all
Wonderful tips
Thank you!
Can we prevent operation with these exercises
Instant relief. I've got a torn meniscus for 25 years and whenever weather changes it hurts when i bend my knee. Thanks for posting this.
So glad it helped!
Good luck.
@@mariusa.1205 thank you :,) good luck to you too I hope you experience less pain every day
Thank you so much doc, for this work out routine doc i broke my knee last thursday and i think it is not that bad because I did not hear some op sound. But this work out routine really help to improved my stability.
I am glad these exercises are helping and thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the informative video. I will be doing theses.
Would leg extensions with a resistant band help with meniscus rehab?
Thank you
Thanks doc! How long after a tear does your walking go back to normal?
For me it took about 1.5 weeks to walk without crutches. And then another 2-3 weeks to walk with my leg completely straight and normal
@@linusrasmusson5860 hey what were you doing for those 3 weeks until you could stretch your knee completely. I have the same
Awesome video..this is exactly what I was looking for....it certainly helped me with my pain....I am a new tennis player and have been experiencing pain due to lateral miniscus tear.....is there a sleeve that i can wear during my tennis game to prevent further damage/pain? Thank you!!
How would my knee react once I have finished my physiotherapy? Would the pain come back again? Since I won't be exercising
I did cycling and it helped a lot, almost back to normal
Thank you sir
