OK but let's be real, the new background is GORGEOUS... ik it didn't change alot but the wall colour with the lights really complement kayla's appearance

Right from the beginning I think I like this studio even more than the previous one. For some reason, it feels cozier and cuter compared to the last one, it's just my opinion tho

Orange-peel wall texture is actually the standard in Germany, we call it "Raufasertapete", which roughly translates to "rough fiber wallpaper" :)
Or the Spanish gotelé that's pretty much the same thing

Pietro just looming in the background over your shoulder is truly an incredible aesthetic. I also love little Stanley over on the shelf!! I have mine on my dresser and it makes me smile every morning. 😂🌭

When Kayla said how the sims doesn’t have half tiles, she reminded me of a dream I had a little while ago about the sims saying they added half tiles to the game in the new update. And since none of the sims games have half tiles (at least I don’t think they do) so it was a big deal. Then I woke up all excited because I could recreate irl houses and all in the game to look more like the irl version. Then I realized it was a dream. I think I need help I’m now dreaming about the Sims 4. I don’t think that’s normal.😂 Also love the setup Kayla!
I dream about Sims all the time haha. But oh man, imagine the disappointment waking up and realising that wasn't real!! I really really want them to patch in building to half tiles because full tiles really are restrictive

I love this and I love that you shared actual photos. Of course this room should be one of the first rooms that is complete. This is your job, you’re in this office for hours. Good luck during the hurrican fingers crossed for no or little damage. Also yes to cat cam, great to hear that she has setted into the new home. Know cats can find a move as stressful as their owners do.
I have the exact same desk as yours and whilst Ikea is great for furnature their delivery charge is erm a little high. When delivery costs as much as the item of furnature you're buying its a little steep.

I recreated my childhood home in the sims for my mom when we found out that it has been abandoned for a few years 🥺💕
I made it based on the actual floor plan of our house so I made it as accurate as possible and it took me forever to get every little detail right. Now I think I should go back and edit it because my house has changed since then.
It’s my fav thing to do in the sims!! It also helps if I’m trying to spruce up the place with new furniture etc
I have tried to recreate just about every house/apartment that I have lived in over my lifetime. Now, being that I'm in my 50s, and grew up a military brat that moved a lot... Newcrest isn't quite large enough... 🤣
No, I really can't, but I'm always impressed when someone manages without having a mental breakdown^^ Our house was build like 450 years ago... The scale is not slightly off, it doesn't work. Like, at all 😂

I think the lighting is really pretty, Kayla! The color tones have a hint of warmth but it's mostly very true to life and cozy

4:20- This is really random that I know this, but there actually is headphones that you can place down in the sims, they are in debug though, and kind of hard to find, but they do exist!!! 🎧😎

Your old background was so iconic, it will take time to get used this great new background. Lighting is perfect, and now you're facing front instead of to the side. Glad you got the move in before the hurricane, hope you stayed safe. And your room is missing Rick. Did he go on tour elsewhere?
The lighting is good. Just smooth enough. The background is pretty good. Just what it takes to ensure continuity. Your cat is currently in Full Discovery Mode. Will stay in that mode for probably a week or two before settling in.

I love trying to recreate my house or other buildings in Sims. I found a grid square is ~3’ x 3.’ A normal fridge is about 32” wide, counters are usually 24” deep. Of course the scale is still weird, but I find it a good rule of thumb, and round up or add space if needed. You can also make up for the increased size by making closets smaller or remove them, since the Sims typically don’t need closets, same with pantries. Another annoying thing that made me have to adjust my last recreation is that they don’t let you overlap door walkways. I had a little “hall” about 1x2 sim grids, the bedroom doors across from each other and the bathroom in the middle. But because the bedroom door overlapped with the bathroom I had to adjust everything.

Welcome to your new home! I am not surprised at all that you started with your office, this is your job and as such that's where you spend a vast majority of your time, I'm sure. My "office" is a partition with shelves in the corner of my finished basement/master bedroom suite, but I'm not jealous 😋!
I wouldn't mind the occasional cat cam, turns out I'm allergic so no more cats for me but I always enjoy her surprise pop-ins.
