Just seen this and tried, for anyone else struggling the free rotate on PS4/5 is R1 + L1 not R2 + L2 Also the extending one side of the roof, you choose the send then just press and hold Square alone then press X when you want to accept the size, dont hold both and dont let go of Square before you press X or it will switch both sides
For Xbox players struggling to free rotate select the item you want with A and then hold both RB + LB at the same time and use the right hand side joystick to rotate it :)

You’re my hero! I personally am better at/started with console but some things are just infuriating so it’s good to know the counters to what it is on console rather than Pc!

Hey those trigger buttons don't do that anymore they just search and undo or redo a placement of an object
