Our long-awaited full review on the redesigned 2021 Nissan Rogue is finally here! We did want to clarify pricing, the base Rogue S starts at $25,650. Add $1400 if you want AWD. I'm still trying to figure out how they ever sold that many Rogues. The interiors were never that great, the cvt/ engine was loud, needed more power, styling wasn't that great and the passenger seat uncomfortable. Haven't been in this new one yet, but that horn sounds terrible.
Cause they were dirt cheap pretty much. They are the cheapest compact SUV out there and they are decent. You don’t get the Toyota or Honda quality but they do the job.
Nissan depends heavily on fleet sales, you see many Rogues in rental fleets for example. Nissan also heavily discounts their cars compared to Honda and Toyota and are willing to basically finance anyone with a pulse.
@@2Kriss2Kross LOL..I used to work at Enterprise so I had one for a rental for a trip from DC to SC in 2017 and I drove it there and back, it rode ok but that was about all. A friend just got a used 2019 SL and soon as I sat in it I was greeted by the uncomfortable passenger seat.
The TWO Rogue vehicles are now about 200k sales behind the Rav4 in 2020 Rav4 sold 430 and Rogue/Rogue Sport was under 230k BUT Rogue did sell 60k in December, so the people seem to like the new model
But are those the 2020 (old body style) or 2021 that was 60k units sold? Well if there’s a sales jump, it could be thanks to the new model, who knows. I have yet to see one on the road, but I like it, it’s a HUGE improvement over the old one that looked like a 2013 car.

The car goes fast enough for probably 90% of the people. And you get 33 mpg .Who needs to floor it all the time anyway! The 2021 Rogue is a definite Winner! Great channel guys, I've watched a ton of your vidz. I've narrowed my 2021 choices to the; Rogue, Rav4, CRV, and the CX5. But now I'm stuck. - While the CX5 has the best body, the infotainment system sucks. - The CRV seems like the obvious choice, but its ugly. - The RAV4 is a top rival, but the infotainment system sucks, and its ugly. - The Rogue is what I want, but I'm concerned about spending $45K on a simple vehicle, when I could get a used Lexus for the same price. Great car, rented the platinum version on Turo on my recent trip to Hawaii. Only things I didn't like were the CVT, no one-touch power windows for passenger side, no cooled seats, and I noticed the headliner that covers the panoramic sunroof is a paper thin cloth material that rustles and makes a lot of wind noise when you drive with the windows down. Everything else is great.
I rented a 2019 Rogue last year. I drove it from Las Vegas to Sacramento. Absolutely snoozer of a car. The most boring car ever to drive. But the good parts? It absolutely demolishes MPG. In eco mode, I was easily getting right around high 20's MPG on the highway, maybe even more. The transmission was smooth and the cabin very comfortable.
@@KhrissyDaDon let me give you a review of the car I purchased (2020 Altima SL AWD): acceleration was fine from a stop due to the new CVT engine gearing ratio bring more tuned city driving. @@rogerigez21 Would actual owners of various Nissans with CVTs lasting well-past 100K and, even, 200K miles qualify them as having valid opinions and knowledge on Nissan reliability? Or, is that privilege only reserved for non-Nissan owning TH-cam commentators?
I really like the new Rogue, it's way better in all aspects, especially the Platinum, which they should have given you to drive and makes it the best in class in the segment. I wish they would have offered the 250hp option as well as a hybrid option on this one when Toyota is offering both power and hybrid options on the RAV4 as well as hybrid on all their other models as a transition to full electric.
SL vs platinum which do you suggest
@@chronot1342 Definitely platinum!
If only Nissan could ditch Renault. Nissan made exciting and reliable vehicles back in the days
14:11 people don’t hate on the Nissan CVT because it doesn’t feel right, people hate it because it cant make it past 10k miles before needing a complete rebuild. I’m speaking from $4k in personal experience.
And speaking from personal experience, I put 140k miles on my 2012 Max with no issues. So yes the CVT can make it past 10k miles.
@Smok3 SHO my bad, Carmax has them #9 for 2020. 🙄
@Smok3 SHO and to be fair, Nissan is #11 on consumer reports 2020. And guess who is #12............Honda.
@@m1kephenix Thank you. No one talks about how Honda's reliability has gone down the 🚽. I've had 3 Rogues since we love them so much and think they're way better than CR-Vs and RAV4s. Our 2011 has over 100K with ZERO issues aside from regular maintenance. We had a 2014 which we loved but traded up to a loaded platinum package version in 2017. Still running smoothly and NONE of them had ANY issues and we're at 60k miles with the '17. My brother had the first Altima that came with a CVT until well-passed 200K miles, again, with ZERO issues. The only reason he doesn't have it anymore? He was in a serious accident where it got totaled. He walked away unscathed, whereas the other Toyota driver that hit him was hospitalized.

Uh oh

How dare you speak of the Aztec. Those are things of which we do not speak
I hope, over time, I can learn of scenarios where the CVTs showed good longevity. It's a new technology and it needs to be proven.
Interior looks nice. Better than CRV and RAV4, but CRV always been my favorite
Inb4 "Scotty said never trust Nissan" comments
Chill with the key! It is going to be in your pocket. It’s a Nissan for crying out loud!
I never understood the fascination with key fobs. I Never take mine out of my pocket. And I prefer it being small.
So what if it’s a Nissan?
Yea he focuses so much on looks with everything. I think it’s a snobby approach! He carries an iPhone 12 Pro Max too he mentioned in his recent Mazda CX-5 review! Haha
The heated steering wheel will lower the temperature when you lower the temp on the climate control. So it won't be too hot on your hands.
Yes wow I’m impressed, I just rested this 2021 Nissan Rogue from enterprise and I like it very much 35mpg on highway and it has auto driving but you have to hold the steering wheel but you don’t have to steer it steering by itself and it runs very good the horsepower is smooth ok compared to my old V6 Hyundai Veracruz I really like it a lot
I know you gripe about the key design but that is what I think Nissan is consistent with is convenience in key fab size. The bulky rocks you see with Ford / Lincoln or even BMW are just ridiculous. I prefer something that isn't putting a bulge in my pocket.
People “hate” on JATCO CVT’s because thousands have been disappointed by them, not for fun. My fathers a mechanic and sees many Nissans come in with bad transmissions. I know you want to give Nissan the benefit of the doubt and be objective and of course they’re going to say it’s improved, but after years of reported defects you can’t blame people for being hesitant and voicing their concerns.
2012 Quest here with 160K miles and no issues. The CVT works flawlessly if you change your fluid every 50k miles. Traded for a 2016 Quest that’s now at 48K miles and no issues.
If you feel that way about nissan products stop running to watch videos on nissan products.
@@TheShootersBay Because then how am I gonna know if Nissan had improved if I don’t watch these videos? Nissan has a chance to improve and they’re making improvements but I’m against Sofyan’s dismissive attitude towards Nissans CVT history.
@@2Kriss2Kross most car reviewers don't do reliability tests because they don't have cars that long to answer that definitively. If you watch enough car reviewers you would know this.
@@m1kephenix There are plenty of reviewers that mention reliability and will bring up a brand or model’s reliability history. They have access to reliability information just as much as we do and as a reviewer they should mention things to look out for.
The interior reminds me of the newer GM full size SUVs.
Nice review, I agree that they should at least offer a hybrid option.
CRV is the real king of compact suv's, but the upcoming redesign should make it even better.
It’s still a very nice upgrade, but unfortunate they didn’t give you the platinum trim so you could see the full digital dash and nicer interior.

Redline!, when are you getting opportunity to test 2022 Rouge 1.5L VC-Turbo?
Hopefully it drives more solidly because when I went to drive a new one back in ‘18 it was light and rattling.
If the Rogue had a traditional automatic transmission I'd buy it.
Need the Premium package with the SL for the 9 inch screen that has wireless Apple CarPlay. He didn’t mention that
The TWO Rogue vehicles are now about 200k sales behind the Rav4 in 2020
Rav4 sold 430 and Rogue/Rogue Sport was under 230k
BUT Rogue did sell 60k in December, so the people seem to like the new model
But are those the 2020 (old body style) or 2021 that was 60k units sold? Well if there’s a sales jump, it could be thanks to the new model, who knows. I have yet to see one on the road, but I like it, it’s a HUGE improvement over the old one that looked like a 2013 car.
Btw, I believe they sold 60,534 Rouges in Quarter 4 2020 (September - December).
already bought it platinum for my daughter as a gift for passing the rn licensure and just waiting for the new pathfinder .
dragon 888 congrats welcome to the Nissan family
This was a REALLY good, informative video. Your opinions are helpful. You're helping me to narrow the field of 5 SUV's I'm considering. The thing I would change is spray painting that stupid chrome U on the nose black. I gotta say I dislike the panoramic roof thing. I don't need hail breaking what I'm sure is a VERY expensive piece of glass. Why do I need the sun trying to burn my head anyway? I personally would always pass on AWD. I drive on paved flat roads. I don't need more parts going bad for a repair shop to have to fix. Same goes for turbos. Get a bigger engine if you need more power, not a gimmick.

Like, seriously, I have had 3 Rogues and NONE of them have given me ANY problems. The key is fine. Does what it is designed to do! Who cares about the key...were not evaluating keys now are We?
The Rogue is much better looking than previous year.
I'd go with the Platinum but the one thing that I wish the Platinum had was the speedometer in the center of the gauges and not off to the left. But the Platinum does have heads up display and that is straight ahead in the windshield.
The engine is great for a 4 cylinder and no turbo to go bad . The car goes fast enough for probably 90% of the people. And you get 33 mpg .Who needs to floor it all the time anyway!
The 2021 Rogue is a definite Winner! By the way, we bought a brand new 2018 Murano Platinum and its a dream to drive and beautiful on road trips.

Yes, buy a bike instead. ..( ; or , try a tuscon.

I have the 2020 model n a lot of wut u said I rlly agree with n wish they wuld hav incorporated tht in the 2020 especially since they were gonna change the whole dynamic a year later. 2nd generation should've been the perfect introduction to the new 3rd gen line up, it should've had push start n auto as well as the automatic rear tail gate right along with the new gear shifter.
The car you drove is not the same as the one reviewed here, this is a full redesign.
