I do agree a lot in the lip-syncing, I know it's okay to lip-sync once in a while especially when the singers schedule is so busy and back-to-back but not to the point that the whole performance or concert is like 90% lip-sync, because relying too much on lip-syncing the singer doesn't improve or doesn't know how to improve since they don't sing live. It is understandable to lip-sync when dancing but then again a singer/a performer should know how to balance both singing and dancing, if they practice their singing along with their dancing they will discover a proper breathing technique or breath management while singing and dancing but since they rely too much on lip-syncing they don't bother improving their vocals anymore and since fans also keep on saying that it's okay for their idols to be like that they don't bother improving since whatever vocal proficiency they have their fans will always eat it up. Look at Beyonce she always tries to sing live even though she is dancing like she will break her body because she loves her craftsmanship so she keeps on improving herself.

She demonstrates a concrete understanding of the mechanics behind her vocal execution, evident in her ability to verbalize and demonstrate her stylistic choices on the spot. You can tell that she carefully weighs her options and has intellectually processed and examined every aspect of her vocal performance. She's also always been diligent about doing her vocal warmups, taking measures to mitigate the ill effects of those less technically expedient moments in which she indulges. Carrie, on the other hand, appears to be genuinely and willingly clueless as a result of her own sheer hubris.

4:21 I dont know why but im not a native speaker and i understand everything ari sing like yeah i mishear a word or two but she sound just fine to me maybe cause im a stan idk
The musician's goal is to communicate a message. A good vocalist should pronounce each word properly to be understood by the audience the first time without the aid of lyrics in front of the audience. If the vocalist cannot be understood, they have failed to communicate the message, regardless of how much time and effort they put into practicing the song. Ari's pronunciation has never been... the greatest per se, but she definitely still has room to improve. I remember the first time I heard "Problem," I could not understand a single word from her. At all. That's not a good thing. I can understand most of what Ariana says now, but only because I look up her lyrics and have listened to many of her performances to get comfortable to her singing style. Working on pronunciation would do her well as a vocalist and as a communicator.
@@Empyrean.127 great POV She also stated at the voice "the TV show " that her pronunciation in POP is not good + she's doing the wicked and that would do her well in terms of pronunciation + and I think her communication with fans in stage isn't problem cause all her fans sing alone with her and loudly when she's performing on stage
@@briannaaudain928 If she has, that's great. Aside from album reviews on TH-cam and the occasional live performance, I don't follow her too closely, so I personally don't know if she has. What matters is that she continues to improve in the area of pronunciation so that she can be clearly understood the first time, regardless if she is singing to fans or an audience who has never heard her before.
If I go to work, and then just play a 6 month old recording of me doing that work, I lose that job. Lip syncing during a live concert, that I paid for to hear LIVE music, isn't ok. Ever. The understanding is that you will do your job and sing live. If you can't do it yet, practice until you can, then you can sell tickets. I get that award shows, TV shows and other media outlets have pre-recorded music and lip sync sometimes. But during a concert? You've cheated the consumer. Or at least announce that you'll be lip syncing. That way you keep your integrity, and fans won't have legitimate complaints about lip syncing, as it's their decision to pay for it or not.

Hi! I've been a fan for a long time and I just wanna ask if you could make a video analysis about SB19. They are a group based in the Philippines and I find their voices so good. I just wanna know how are they vocally. Thank you and God bless!
I think he’s making a point about the importance of tenors working on their lower registers despite being in an industry like kpop that values high notes over everything else, to the point where some groups never sing outside their head voice
Idk why i found very annoying the over singing in every artist, like Beyonce or Christian Aguilera, EXCEPT Mariah carey, IDK what the fuck she has in her voice that she can oversing like you said, vision of love and it doesn’t feel like it, it is so pleasant ❤
It’s the tone. A vocalist with great tone can get away with murder. In fact, an average or mediocre singer with great tone can and has been mistaken for a vocalist and even a great vocalist. It’s also the style. Mariah has a soft and airy style to her singing which make the notes feel as though they’re perching into your ears after gliding through the breeze. Beyoncé has a great tone (I don’t get what people mean by her tone is bland; it’s not). It’s rich and warm. Bright where it needs to and dark where it needs to. However, her singing style is more violent in my opinion. She uses her voice like a hammer. She attacks her notes. So over-singing (when she did, in her early years) would be much more recognised as the notes feel like bullets or arrows. Christina had so so so so so much potential to really become the new Whitney but her bad choices and habits just did far more harm than good to her voice. And she’s got a great tone but her style is kinda similar to Beyonce and her over singing was unbearable (like at Etta James’ funeral; that was a disaster in my opinion; I couldn’t hear what she was saying properly; placement was all over the place; it was just one eye-roll after another).
I believe Mariah knows and understands what she can do with her voice and uses all of her tools at her disposal. She doesn’t use one tool until it becomes overbearing. Of course, there are exceptions like Vision of Love, but those are only a handful of her songs. Mariah is… more artistic than most when it comes to composing the vocal line.
@@Empyrean.127 absolutely agree. Almost every song (especially in her prime) displays 95% of her vocal abilities. She doesn’t just focus on one vocal ability but shows off almost everything she has, so it nearly feels like you’re at a buffet when listening to just one song. So it doesn’t sound tiring. You feel full at the end.
@@squarcircle2254violent approach in singing is more Christina's style. Beyoncé is grounded and prone to staccatos, portamentos and what you can hear in her runs glottal attacks. One's approach is harmful the other is out of the norm but still very healthy from a technical standpoint.
"Repeated runs" are called riffs💁. Some are good and some are bad/overdone. Beyoncé has worse ones than the one in the video... Those riffs actually ate😂😂😂
The most important things for singer is uniqueness and different from others to make a song sounds extra, if only do good technic, it wont much be interesting unless very high skill. For ex. Billie Ellish, she is grammy winner without all such complicated technic.
i do get your point, but technique isn't only about technical boring stuff, but also about maintaining your voice and singing without risk of losing your voice or permanently damaged. in order to diferentiate yourself from other singers, you need to know your voice and its limits and the basics of singing, and from then you can add on your own personal flair, much like any other art form. for example, you can't really be a great unique artist without knowing the basics such as anatomy, color theory, compositions, coloring, etc.
@@northrnstar Do you know the difference between vocalist and singer? Off course as a singer you should know vocal technic but good singer should more than it. Therefore, if you read my comment in detail, I put word ONLY.
@@northrnstar What I'm conveying, a good singer can give a soul into a song, no point you do perfect vibrato, falseto, belting etc, but the message of the song sounds empty. The good singers can raise a feeling to whom listen their singing, not only great vocal technic. If they can do both, they are great singers!
To sum it up:
Green flag: humility; knowing you aren’t the vocal god
Red flag: arrogance; thinking too highly of your own voice

Did anyone else notice the background music is Cheshire by itzy💀. Any midzys here??❤️
9:06 : I think I’m the only one that love to hear Beyoncé going EXTRA with run and showing off 😂 I love when she loose herself on stage especially with vocals. ( AND SHE WAS LIKE 17yo ! )
and that's why kelly clarkson is one of the greatest!! she is superior in all of the green flags 🙌🏼
Exo is a big green flag 😂❤
The least you can do if you use Kyungsoo in your thumbnail is also include him in the video. Like... he's an amazing vocalist. Why only mention Chen and Baekhyun? EXO has 3 main vocalists.. not 2...
I agree, me and many other people only entered the video because of him... clickbait😑
There is this Flemish female singer, who always makes these cracks in her songs and it kind of gets annoying. She would split a word into 2 because of it and it makes it sound off. She is called "Paulien" in case you want to check her out.
Demi's vocal breaks are underrated!!!
chen vocal 🥰
Use Hozier for your exemples please! 🥺
Love his tone.
Am I reaching or your explanation at 7:50 describes Wendy by using her clips? 😭 Cause I know shes usually praised for connecting mid to high notes
DO you have any videos covering Jonghyun of shinee? I notice you have a lot of videos ranking kpop vocalists but havent seen one placing him anywhere on your tierlists.
I don't think so :/ he didn't include second gen on his male main vocal list. I wanna see what he thinks of jjong too, he's my favorite male singer
H and K sound are where those vocal breaks happen naturally or most often.
I see kyungsoo, i click. But...... :(
In my opinion, the most baddest things are a bad musicality and a too big ego. A too big ego is my absolute number one.

I dont know why but im not a native speaker and i understand everything ari sing like yeah i mishear a word or two but she sound just fine to me maybe cause im a stan idk
@@Empyrean.127 great POV
She also stated at the voice "the TV show " that her pronunciation in POP is not good + she's doing the wicked and that would do her well in terms of pronunciation + and I think her communication with fans in stage isn't problem cause all her fans sing alone with her and loudly when she's performing on stage
@@Empyrean.127She has improved it imo
@@aliabdeldjaber3556you’re correct
@@briannaaudain928 If she has, that's great. Aside from album reviews on TH-cam and the occasional live performance, I don't follow her too closely, so I personally don't know if she has. What matters is that she continues to improve in the area of pronunciation so that she can be clearly understood the first time, regardless if she is singing to fans or an audience who has never heard her before.
I think Sia has great vocal breaks too
Perrie ❤👑
Auto click the like button as soon as I saw Morissette Amon. my no.1 idol. 😍😍😍
Kelly’s clip would’ve been a better example than Ari’s
it is hard to overcome smb like Whitney Houston
This one-sided homosexual beef you have with Mariah needs to end.
If you're impressed with great head voice, I wonder how you think of a well-controlled, healthy, smooth, and easily accessible falsetto...
Talking about vibrato I thought of Jaejoong
2:44 well you should miley. you had a major vocal surgery 💀
Riiight?!🫢🫢
@@aintnootherfanthat wasn’t due to her singing…
@@cokolives not u projecting lmao. i never assumed it was because of that. i just said that, since she had a vocal surgery, she should care about her voice and technique
@@whoevr Girl u so mad cause Miley ate ariana up in her own song. Mind you Ariana literally says the same thing when people ask about her singing

Hi! I've been a fan for a long time and I just wanna ask if you could make a video analysis about SB19. They are a group based in the Philippines and I find their voices so good. I just wanna know how are they vocally. Thank you and God bless!
4:13 💀 all of y’all say that 😭 but it isn’t that bad in that song-
Right
Yeah she was fine at that time
🔥🔥🔥
Is that naruto ost playing in the background
Oh yes😂
which performance from tori kelly is in this video please? she looks like an angel i wanna watch it
I've never even heard 'that riff' before. What's the big deal? 🤷🏿♂️ Let people live.
criminal offensive side eye👀
Great video per usual 🤧 a lot of people are claiming that ningning is a better vocalist that Ariana is it true ?
No i don’t think that is true, at least not yet.
Ariana has a better mix and better belting
Ari also supports better and I believe her HV is also somewhat better
I don’t think so
Ariana definitely better. Ningning has a better lower register though.
@@Oliver-uz1fsAriana does not have a better HV but in terms of overall upper register (including falsetto and whistle) than she does
Unpopular opinion, I’m not a fan of Charlie Puth.
Me neither
3:47
And she never worked on it.
She did imo lol
8:44 you call that... a lower range? Pop music needs more basses for real!
I think he’s making a point about the importance of tenors working on their lower registers despite being in an industry like kpop that values high notes over everything else, to the point where some groups never sing outside their head voice
Please anyone 🙏 who sings "I will always love you" in the second clip?
Can anyone tell me where the video from 1:26 is from? It’s the guy in the hoodie with good vibrato ^^
Search up “NCT Doyoung When This Rain Stops” and the video should pop up ^^
Idk why i found very annoying the over singing in every artist, like Beyonce or Christian Aguilera, EXCEPT Mariah carey, IDK what the fuck she has in her voice that she can oversing like you said, vision of love and it doesn’t feel like it, it is so pleasant ❤
I don't think Mariah Carey's repeated run on Vision of Love really worked. It tended to be too much.
4:10 what's the name of the song?😮
Es un cover de Ariana Grande - No tears left to cry
No tears left to cry - Ariana
7:06 NOT CeCe twice in a row 🫠🫠☠️☠️
You didn’t put Beyonce in switching registers, she’s an excellent vocalist in that department
@@northrnstar
Do you know the difference between vocalist and singer?
Off course as a singer you should know vocal technic but good singer should more than it.
Therefore, if you read my comment in detail, I put word ONLY.
@@northrnstar
What I'm conveying, a good singer can give a soul into a song, no point you do perfect vibrato, falseto, belting etc, but the message of the song sounds empty.
The good singers can raise a feeling to whom listen their singing, not only great vocal technic. If they can do both, they are great singers!
Most important thing is definitely not uniqueness lol.
