Muscat Oman

A sinkhole in the desert where fish eat the dry skin off your feet. Mounds of dry, boulders protruding from the ground. White buildings everywhere, immersed in the towering clay colored mountains. A coastline that stretches the entirety of the capital, Muscat, all the way down an eight hour drive to the furtherest southern point. Friendly people, and comforting food; mostly Thai food, and Chinese food for us. Jiayi certainly misses out on eating rice, and spicy eastern food with now living Abu Dhabi. That's the beauty of travel; gain a new perspective, encounter a new land/culture, and get what you may not be getting at home. For us, in Abu Dhabi, it was eastern food (oddly), a lively coastline that's more than just a place to sit, and terrain that is anything but flat. Muscat is well worth a visit to the desert.
