Great shooting Peter and great video. Question. You had remote control in your hide- do you have a motorised bouncer and how important would you say it is to have one ?? Would normal floor decoys draw them in just the same. ??
A very interesting and debatable point ! lol . I first started shooting using only dead birds and making the most of setting them up using the wind etc. to move feathers. The brought a manual string pulled flapper. This worked very well. Having heard about the rotary bird attractors, apparently, doing so well I brought one. I am sure that for many these models have done really well, but for me it turned out to be cumbersom to carry and was actually a pigeon scarer to our birds! lol :-) So I flogged it and brought this simple remote flapper that has low battery usage, stays on flapping intermittently until pressed as off and light to carry with a normal lamping battery. ALSO still important to set up floating birds and a good pattern, whatever. Hope this helps?
Not too much of that happening here fortunately! lol. Although it may appear so sometimes as they fly on a way and drop. Dog is usually knackered by the end anyway! :-) My word, if we worried about making money pigeon shooting we would be stressed out? lol.
@@faith6651 yes, you are right Sir, sometimes they take a long time to drop out, they also can seemingly shed a lot of feathers but fly on. With the price of cartridges going crazy don't know how long I will want to shoot (didn't think I would ever say that!). Regards, Pete Brown.
Funny you should say that as I have noticed a drop in people after pigeons etc. and was wondering if was cost PLUS price of fuel to even get there!? I have recently brought a decent pre charge airgun to take them out around one of the farms. A lot cheaper! lol. I do hope you don't have to stop. Best of luck and keep in touch? What part of country are you in?
@@faith6651 GODS county, Norfolk, near Downham Market mate! Plenty of the "blue peril" around, although it's the wildfowling that has always attracted me. Regards, Pete.
Drop me an MSM or email then if you like, as about 3 hours from here, near Hull. I used to live near Diss. Can do you a mixed day or so up here next season if you wish? :-)
You're an early bird aren't you! out at dawn. And I certainly know what you mean about having to carry all the gear across a field, it gets heavier every outing. Well done and thanks for the video

@@faith6651 thank you. Appreciate your reply.
In a nutshell, a bit of movement can just tip the balance in drawing a bird in, let alone a lot! :-)

Modified golf trolley works for me, being a "big old boy" possibly helps? UK Pete
You need to get yourself down to the beach around the Dover area. That's where the real problem lies.
Eh? What do you mean, smelly ferrals? :-) Or are the woodies taking a beach break and dip? lol
