This is my longplay for Sega-Mega CD of Sonic CD (japan).
Sonic arrives at Never Lake where the fabled Little Planet (also known as Miracle Planet) is said to appear on the last month of every year. Sonic arrives to find the planet tethered to a mountain by a chain and completely mechanized. Sonic realizes this is the work of his arch-nemesis, Doctor Eggman, who had set foot in this island to transform it into a giant fortress. Upon discovering Sonic;s presence on the island, he dispatches Metal Sonic to kidnap young female hedgehog called Amy Rose when she follows Sonic to the mystical planet. Sonic must collect the Time Stones which are seven jewels capable of altering the passage of time itself.
Having gathered all seven Time Stones throughout time, Sonic defeats Metal Sonic and faces off against Eggman. Following the Doctor;s defeat, Sonic and Amy escape as Little Planet is returned to normal and leaves Never Lake. -

That Sonic game was like no other in the 16-bit era. Even Sonic 3 & Knuckles had this on the run of the money. Never played it, yet, but it is one of the best.
Famous for introducing Amy Rose and the infamous METAL SONIC.
This game is amazing. I love how it its so colorful and detailed with the graphics.

The game could've done so much better with the bosses (except for Metal Sonic, he was/is awesome), but the sound track is mindblowingly good.

as far as old school sonic games go this one had some of the best music and graphics. mega cd was a horribly underrated system.
it was piece of shit system no one supported it either just like the 32x. even plain old genesis versions of games were better and didnt have long load times.
it just had a few games that were good the rest were trash.

Had they simply waited and developed a better console to compete (or better yet, agreed with Sony to develop their console), they wouldn't have failed so hard

Japanese soundtrack is better.
Mainly because the Past themes were variations of the other themes in each of the levels. I do respect the opinions of those who prefer the American soundtrack, though.

Metal Sonic is the third robot copy of sonic created by eggman, even he fails at destroying sonic, eggman always bring him back to the fight, so he is 1 of eggman's 2 favorite robots.
For me this is a better version of the first Sonic game
At least I can say this game has better level designs I like that inmersive style.

The game is amazing. It introduced many cool mechanics that would almost never be seen after this. It was as good as Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Knuckles. Whatever your opinion, I like the Japanese soundtrack better than US.

JP SOUNDTRACK SUCKS US IS BETTER
For me, Sonic CD is a better game than Sonic 2, even if Sonic 2 has much better level design. Sonic CD has a much greater emphasis on exploration, while Sonic 2 greatly focuses on speed instead. To really, really thrive as a platformer series, Sonic should get back to the emphasis on platforming and exploration that were the central focus of Sonic 1 and Sonic CD. Look at Mario : Mario has never lessened its emphasis on exploration. This gave birth to absolute masterpieces like Mario Bros 3, Mario 64, and recently Mario Odyssey. Sonic has forgotten that speed is not everything.
I would say both Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Mania & CD are a heck of alot better than 2 in my opinion. 2 would've been at the top if the enemy placement wasn't cheap & if the zone's level designs at the 2nd half ( with the exception of Mystic Cave Zone ) wasn't frustrated or repetitive at it's time.

I Don't Know why, But i seem to like the 2011 Port Better.
Then you realize there is no point at all in hitting the Future checkpoints because all the stuff you need to do is in the past, so you just have to get to the past at the beginning of the stage and make sure you avoid or burn off all the Future drives.

Once upon a time metal sonic was built from Dr.Eggman. Inside was future sonic and then shadow the hedgehog came to life and defeated Dr. Eggman. Later shadow came from a time machine and came to South Island to see sonic and became best friends. The end.

Why didn't the music loop?
Because it was recorded as audio in the game CD, same as any other music CD. The CD reader had to follow track until the end and then physically go back to the start to play it again. That´s also why it had such an amazing quality for the time.
Looped music in older Sonic games is possible because it´s "rendered" in real time, in memory.
