Great tips - Thanks! I usually drive in above-freezing temps, but drove through Colorado mountains in winter, car thermo read 3 degrees F. "all-season" fluid froze immediately on windshield, in feeder hose. Couldn't see anything, going down a curving slope on I-70 in traffic, snow, slush, ice. High pucker factor - seriously. Don't know how I made to side of road without getting killed. So great tips - thanks again and have a great New Year!
Years ago, when CB's were most popular, whenever my parents or grandparents had pulled the side of the road, many professional truckers would call it to see if they needed help. If they did, it wasn't uncommon for one or two to get off at the next exit and come back and help. Belated thanks to those truckers.✌ 🏆
I just had that problem got oil changed down south and they put summer formula in it and I was heading up north were it's 19 degrees , good video thanks
I always tend to stop and help people, but I can totally understand why people DO NOT stop and help.. It is much much safer to call your Roadside service. Again... I UNDERSTAND the courtesy of stopping to help... AGAIN, I understand this... but many people have been killed trying to help someone who was "stranded".... Think for a moment if your daughter breaks down on the road... who do you want to help her? Some helpful guy who pulls over? or a sanctioned Roadside Service truck. Many girls tried to help Ted Bundy when he was "stuck".... turns out he wasn't so stuck, its a common ruse that thugs and murderers use.
Old newspapers (or free papers) are wonderful to use for cleaning glass. Save money on paper towels. :) Quick question: What to do if your fluid is already frozen? Will adding the alcohol help? Adding a de-icing fluid? Thanks!
Yes, alcohol poured into your reservoir will melt ice in it,but it might take a whole bottle to fix one gallon that way, pour in a half bottle and wait 15 minutes and stir it if you can. I also use it on my sprayer tips in freezing rain and it removes the ice, and the sprayers work again. For that I pour alcohol directly on the sprayer tips on the wiper blades. (on a car they are likely mounted on the hood.)
People don't care there to much in a hurry theses days.. most drivers don't care for one another theses days , they disrespectful to one another there's very few that do
Such a great video for new drivers that aren't from where it snows. Thank you so very much.
Awesome, thanks for reminding the rest of us about caring for our fellow motorist on the road. :)

I've read an open hood means you're broken down and need help, as well as a white cloth tied around the mirror.

Or, you could just buy better quality washer fluid rated for colder temps.
