Ida Obondo ..as a 'white African' I echo your sentiments and hope he keeps up this good work- great investigative journalism.
b.t.w. India yesterday had a landslide victory for a party that says it champions the cause of the 'poor, the oppressed and all regardless of their diversity', so we watch to see if the words of their spokesperson are of substance; as for example toward our Siddi brothers, and sisters...or no - let's hope the former

Tom this is a great documentary. I was not aware that there were Africans in Indian, Iraq. and other countries in the region. I watched another documentary about Africans in Latin American and I have seen a similarities with your documentary. The marginalization is common in all the cases and rampant poverty. It is an eye opener because I was not aware of there being African in India. The pride i take in being an African is the will to survive and ever blossoming optimism despite the odds

Interesting is the life of human migration. Some out of need and some out of greed of others..It is unfortunate that ancestors of Siddis had to leave their motherland and I sympathise with the difficulties faced by this group in India. Reservations are only good if it truly help such people who are genuinely at a disadvantage.

Thank you for sharing. These people are Indians! They were probably taken as slaves by the Arabs when India was ruled by mughals. It might not be easy but they should send their children to schools in nearest towns and be visible and not isolate themselves. Barriers have to be broken to benefit future generations. It is like everywhere else when people of other race first go onto foreign land, they come across a lot of prejudices which they have to overcome. By staying in the forest they are self isolating which their future generations might find difficult to get out of. I hope and wish they would venture out and make a place for themselves on equal footing just like any other indian. India is a great country and has a place for all its people. It might be difficult but not impossible.

At least these people have food to eat. Indian Government subsidized food to eat. I am sure they can get ration cards for food supplies. Free government schools.
Education is the tool that could help uplift poor communities and families. It doesn't matter how u look like and where u are from and what color is your skin. I don't think India discriminates on food and education front. If you have money u can do whatever u want.

Why returning back to Africa? for another suffering? What OAU should do is to raise funds to support them with schools and hospitals.

Yes, those who wish to return to the mother land then take them back. Many of those migrant are poor and unskilled so why forget our own to take others who only turn their back on later. When will Africa learn. Young generation take hold of your homeland before its too late for all of us.
