Hey Bob, thanks for sharing this! I am a little late to the party and drive a '21 so my opinion isn't as critical, but one suggestion to demonstrate the true difference in output would be to use a DSLR camera in manual aperture and shutter speed settings. Ideally, you have both headlamps installed, park against a wall some distance away (50ft or so) and take a photo at a higher f stop and lower shutter speed. Compare with the AlphaRex lights. If you position the vehicle and camera as consistently as possible, we can get a better sense of just how much better the beam is. I'd look for a wider beam with a higher lux output (guess you need a lux meter here...), the difference in cutoff pattern, etc. The build quality differences alone seem like a good reason to opt for the AR lights, but getting a clearer picture of the light output differences might help some buyers. I hope someone on CL will get around to it sooner or later.

I'll tell u what T K....i really have no idea what price they are going to slap on these babies but i've bought cheaper priced products many many times and regretted it. I'm at the point where customer service plays a big part second to the price. I'll even pay a little more to sleep better at night. You're wrong. The 2010-2013 are compatible. Only difference is, you would need to change more than just the headlamps. You're going to have to do a front end conversion and Alibaba do sell the kits for them. Not cheap. Hey Bob, do the AlphaRex lights move at all when they're turned on? I remember when you installed the original upgraded lights when you turned them on they did this start up kinda of movement. Also, the product description on their website mentions a Activation Light feature when you unlock the car. Do yours do this? If so can we see it? Hey Eric, these new headlamps come with the additional resistor chip boards that the earlier models didn’t have which is why there were error messages in the earlier models. The production of these aftermarket GX headlamps have come a longer way since. I’ve driven with the Alpharex headlamps for quite some time now and am very satisfied with their quality. Check out their Alpha Nova series that come with Smoked out turn signals. Pretty badass.

It was a pretty cool function to see every time u start your car but that’s only if you park in front of your garage door. Otherwise my Alpharex is a lot brighter which makes up for the autoleveling

I have a 2017 GX Prem Pkg and tried several LED bulbs to replace the halogen high beams, but all had horrible beam patterns and less distance visibility so I put the halogens back. I don't care about color match- I'm only interested in better visibility and beam pattern (light on the road, not in the trees and in drivers eyes).
Hi Rudy. I’ve been really satisfied with the alpharex light coverage versus stock. Bob, I love the look of the headlights, but that gap around the corner where headlight meets the fender is huge compared to flush almost no gap on stock GX headlights. Do you know if that gap will still be on the production product? Thanks
Hey AS, I have seen quite a few installs and none have the gap you are referring to. Do me a favor, remove all 4 of the fasteners holding your headlight. Have one person push the headlight assembly in while you look at the hole alignments. That will give you a good indication where the headlight assembly is off. All 4 brackets can't be off at the same time, also see where the assembly is hitting the frame to see if you can do any minor modification. If you are in southern cali, i would drive it to Alpharex and show them the discrepancy. They are really good about it. If not, i would take some pictures and send it but after i do all my adjustments. I can't dissect unless i'm physically there to see it but maybe share a video of it and post it, give me a link too.
@@GXBOB copy all, thanks Bob. I was just referring to your video. It seemed like there is more of a gap compared to oem headlights. On the website pictures it also seems like a bigger gap on the fender side (you can see the inner fender ridges) compared to almost no gap compared to OEM.

Yes they do. Is the exact same headlights. Only difference is you have to do the front end conversion. 2010-2013 conversion kit to 2014-2021. They sell it on alibaba.

Yes. Absolutely. Any time you remove and install headlights, you have to adjust the beams. Its easy though. I have a video that s shows how to adjust your headlights on the GX.

Hello Bob, my Alpharex headlights are so bright but they can’t see farther at nights. I have difficulty driving them at night because i can’t see anything beyond 25 to 35 feet. It’s really alarming. Pls, can you advise me what I need to do or was it not properly installed ?
Unlike your oem's, your Alpharex requires leveling/adjustment post-install. There are a couple of adjustment screws you use that to set your beams up higher. From your comment, i'm assuming your beams are shooting straight down to the floor. I have something in my video library that should help guide you in making those adjustments. They work flawlessly and the fit was perfect. There were no customization needed and the good thing was Alpharex added the decoder to each headlight to ensure you don't get a error reading on the diagnostic screen you typically see on the Chinese alibaba ones that people were complaining about. The only thing i lost was the auto leveling feature of my oem but if you manually adjust them from the beginning you don't need the auto level.
@@AllPointsautoelectricAustin have you tried diagnosing it yourself? If both don’t work then it’s telling me the output from your truck may be the culprit . Check fuses and all connectors

Distributor normally handles warranties with the customer directly and then exchange with the supplier Alpharex who is local to So Cal if you’re in the area.
Hey Mark, not exactly sure what you're looking for in tail lights from Alpharex but the OEM smoked sports trim tail lights are super nice. I want them myself. I currently have the normal red tail lights as shown in my other video because i couldn't stand the all white Altezza style tail lights but not i'm eagerly shopping for a good deal on the sports trim smoked ones. Hi Donald, first of all thanks for watching. I would contact AlphaRex directly for this. They do respond fairly quickly. The headlights i replaced didn’t have that feature since it was a base model so i can’t confirm or deny.

Hey Sam, sorry for getting back to you kinda late. I wanted to make sure i give u the right information. When i installed my Alpharex, i lost my autoleveling feature. This was always communicated to me ahead of time but i went for it anyways. Looking at one of their product description page, it does mention it is not compatible with vehicles with AFS. If you choose to keep them, you’ll lose that feature. As of now i don’t know anyone else that has mentioned AFS while doing the transition. I would reach out to Alpha to confirm.
@@samnangeam what problem did you have exactly? Flashing dash light? I have 2015 luxury and ordered before realizing the AFS issue. They arrive Thursday and trying to figure out if I need to return.
It's easily installed but afs warning light will pop up on my dashboard so I returned it back. It's nothing serious if you ignore it but its annoying when you have lexus app notifications pop up and your local dealer calls you. That's what really happened to me.

This is the first I’ve heard of Alpharex giving error messages. First thing is to plug your oem headlights back in and test all your oem lights first to ensure it’s not oem that has failed . Make sure all your parking lights, reverse lights, and turn signals work . We don’t want any aftermarket led lights you’ve installed to be the culprit . If all is good, reinstall your Alpharex and test all your lights again, i would check the connection of the small black decoder boxes that are attached in the back of each headlight at 6:50. Disconnect one of them. Turn on your headlights. If you still get an error message then disconnect both of them then turn on your headlights. If you still get an error message then plug both back in but check the prongs inside the plugs to make sure they’re not damaged. After all those different combinations and you’re getting an error message i would contact Alpharex.
i wasn't referring to ultraviolet ray. I meant Usutu virus (USUV) which is an African mosquito-borne flavivirus belonging to the Japanese encephalitis virus Sero complex. Because of the shape of your headlights and the contours of the driver fender, the virus is prone to reflect the headlights and use Neuton's 3rd law of motion to get into your truck's cabin and eventually attaching to the host. Its been known to cause erectile dysfunction which i have and i blame it on not using ceramic wax on my headlights.
i removed the video clip of the turn signals because they were brighter than fk, it glared the camera lense really bad. as far as sequential lighting, i think they do, i would have to go back and check out the leftover clips again. But for sure, the they have switchback lighting.

Hey Daniel, the 2014-2022 do fit the 2010-2013. It has been done before but with a kit from Alibaba which is not cheap. The headlamps itself are initially made for the 2010-2013 plug and play. The only difference is the 2014 and up require a decoder. You just have to snip off the decoder in order to install into your 2010-2013. The kit is a pretty penny you’re right so I will likely hold off on that process given the substantial cost + install required afterwards. I’ve been looking for an upgraded/modernized headlight for my older GX but I’m still surprised to see no aftermarket manufacturers ever decided to enter that space by creating something compatible! @@cybrah The Alibaba and Alpharex are the same fitment. They are both interchangeable. Alibaba does sell it without the entire kit and you can also find it on ebay. Only difference is. Alpharex gives you peace of mind with US local support. With Alibaba and eBay, you may run into issues with some companies. (Not all). Check on clublexus, there were individuals that were lucky to find lights that worked in Alibaba with no complaints.
I follow u buy this alpha Rex headlight only 10mo. the driver side daytime running light not working, I contacted alpharex USA they side I have warranty but they don’t replace for me , they side the original seller with process for me but the original seller said alpharex USA need replacement for me ! I don’t understand who with give me warranty??
Thats between you and the place you bought it from. The store needs to accept the warranty and give you a new one in return. Then they take the broken headlights and deal with AlphaRex.

You're wrong. The 2010-2013 are compatible. Only difference is, you would need to change more than just the headlamps. You're going to have to do a front end conversion and Alibaba do sell the kits for them. Not cheap.

@@taco_timedqp4806 they work great. One thing i just discovered is that the 4th light is actually day time time lights. California went thru a good couple weeks of rain during Christmas and they held up very well. I was looking for any condensation.

This actually fits in the 10-13 plug and play. Only difference is you would have to buy the kit that conforms to the new headlights. Here is a link and look at package C. There are cheaper copy cats from Alibaba too if you want to go that route.

Hey Bob, do the AlphaRex lights move at all when they're turned on? I remember when you installed the original upgraded lights when you turned them on they did this start up kinda of movement. Also, the product description on their website mentions a Activation Light feature when you unlock the car. Do yours do this? If so can we see it? I'm really curious what it looks like when they're first turned on.

Hey Eric, these new headlamps come with the additional resistor chip boards that the earlier models didn’t have which is why there were error messages in the earlier models. The production of these aftermarket GX headlamps have come a longer way since. I’ve driven with the Alpharex headlamps for quite some time now and am very satisfied with their quality. Check out their Alpha Nova series that come with Smoked out turn signals. Pretty badass.

It was a pretty cool function to see every time u start your car but that’s only if you park in front of your garage door. Otherwise my Alpharex is a lot brighter which makes up for the autoleveling

I have a 2017 GX Prem Pkg and tried several LED bulbs to replace the halogen high beams, but all had horrible beam patterns and less distance visibility so I put the halogens back. I don't care about color match- I'm only interested in better visibility and beam pattern (light on the road, not in the trees and in drivers eyes).

I love the look of the headlights, but that gap around the corner where headlight meets the fender is huge compared to flush almost no gap on stock GX headlights. Do you know if that gap will still be on the production product? Thanks
Hey AS, I have seen quite a few installs and none have the gap you are referring to. Do me a favor, remove all 4 of the fasteners holding your headlight. Have one person push the headlight assembly in while you look at the hole alignments. That will give you a good indication where the headlight assembly is off. All 4 brackets can't be off at the same time, also see where the assembly is hitting the frame to see if you can do any minor modification. If you are in southern cali, i would drive it to Alpharex and show them the discrepancy. They are really good about it. If not, i would take some pictures and send it but after i do all my adjustments. I can't dissect unless i'm physically there to see it but maybe share a video of it and post it, give me a link too.
@@GXBOB copy all, thanks Bob. I was just referring to your video. It seemed like there is more of a gap compared to oem headlights. On the website pictures it also seems like a bigger gap on the fender side (you can see the inner fender ridges) compared to almost no gap compared to OEM.

Yes they do. Is the exact same headlights. Only difference is you have to do the front end conversion. 2010-2013 conversion kit to 2014-2021. They sell it on alibaba.

Yes. Absolutely. Any time you remove and install headlights, you have to adjust the beams. Its easy though. I have a video that s shows how to adjust your headlights on the GX.

Alpharex headlights already come with a decoder installed to prevent error messages. No issues whatsoever.
Hello Bob, my Alpharex headlights are so bright but they can’t see farther at nights. I have difficulty driving them at night because i can’t see anything beyond 25 to 35 feet. It’s really alarming. Pls, can you advise me what I need to do or was it not properly installed ?
Unlike your oem's, your Alpharex requires leveling/adjustment post-install. There are a couple of adjustment screws you use that to set your beams up higher. From your comment, i'm assuming your beams are shooting straight down to the floor. I have something in my video library that should help guide you in making those adjustments. The video is off another GX model but the platform is still the same.

Hey @bob how does the headlight working after a year of use?
They work flawlessly and the fit was perfect. There were no customization needed and the good thing was Alpharex added the decoder to each headlight to ensure you don't get a error reading on the diagnostic screen you typically see on the Chinese alibaba ones that people were complaining about. The only thing i lost was the auto leveling feature of my oem but if you manually adjust them from the beginning you don't need the auto level.
My Alpharex headlight turn signal and daytime running light stopped working, and having a hard time getting a warranty from them

Hey Mark, not exactly sure what you're looking for in tail lights from Alpharex but the OEM smoked sports trim tail lights are super nice. I want them myself. I currently have the normal red tail lights as shown in my other video because i couldn't stand the all white Altezza style tail lights but not i'm eagerly shopping for a good deal on the sports trim smoked ones. Hi Donald, first of all thanks for watching. I would contact AlphaRex directly for this. They do respond fairly quickly. The headlights i replaced didn’t have that feature since it was a base model so i can’t confirm or deny.

Hey Sam, sorry for getting back to you kinda late. I wanted to make sure i give u the right information. When i installed my Alpharex, i lost my autoleveling feature. This was always communicated to me ahead of time but i went for it anyways. Looking at one of their product description page, it does mention it is not compatible with vehicles with AFS. If you choose to keep them, you’ll lose that feature. As of now i don’t know anyone else that has mentioned AFS while doing the transition. I would reach out to Alpha to confirm.

It's easily installed but afs warning light will pop up on my dashboard so I returned it back. It's nothing serious if you ignore it but its annoying when you have lexus app notifications pop up and your local dealer calls you. That's what really happened to me.

No they do not. I manually adjusted my beams. Set it and forget it.

This is the first I’ve heard of Alpharex giving error messages. First thing is to plug your oem headlights back in and test all your oem lights first to ensure it’s not oem that has failed . Make sure all your parking lights, reverse lights, and turn signals work . We don’t want any aftermarket led lights you’ve installed to be the culprit . If all is good, reinstall your Alpharex and test all your lights again, i would check the connection of the small black decoder boxes that are attached in the back of each headlight at 6:50. Disconnect one of them. Turn on your headlights. If you still get an error message then disconnect both of them then turn on your headlights. If you still get an error message then plug both back in but check the prongs inside the plugs to make sure they’re not damaged. After all those different combinations and you’re getting an error message i would contact Alpharex.
I’m also assuming your GX is 2014-2019. The 2010-2013 will need the decoder to be removed.

Ceramic wax is not going to protect against UV rays. (Watch Dmitry’s Garage). PPF or Meguirs headlight coating spray will work much better.
i wasn't referring to ultraviolet ray. I meant Usutu virus (USUV) which is an African mosquito-borne flavivirus belonging to the Japanese encephalitis virus Sero complex. Because of the shape of your headlights and the contours of the driver fender, the virus is prone to reflect the headlights and use Neuton's 3rd law of motion to get into your truck's cabin and eventually attaching to the host. Its been known to cause erectile dysfunction which i have and i blame it on not using ceramic wax on my headlights.

i removed the video clip of the turn signals because they were brighter than fk, it glared the camera lense really bad. as far as sequential lighting, i think they do, i would have to go back and check out the leftover clips again. But for sure, the they have switchback lighting.

Hey Daniel, the 2014-2022 do fit the 2010-2013. It has been done before but with a kit from Alibaba which is not cheap. The headlamps itself are initially made for the 2010-2013 plug and play. The only difference is the 2014 and up require a decoder.
You just have to snip off the decoder in order to install into your 2010-2013.

The kit is a pretty penny you’re right so I will likely hold off on that process given the substantial cost + install required afterwards. I’ve been looking for an upgraded/modernized headlight for my older GX but I’m still surprised to see no aftermarket manufacturers ever decided to enter that space by creating something compatible! @@cybrah The Alibaba and Alpharex are the same fitment. They are both interchangeable. Alibaba does sell it without the entire kit and you can also find it on ebay. Only difference is. Alpharex gives you peace of mind with US local support. With Alibaba and eBay, you may run into issues with some companies. (Not all). Check on clublexus, there were individuals that were lucky to find lights that worked in Alibaba with no complaints.
I follow u buy this alpha Rex headlight only 10mo. the driver side daytime running light not working, I contacted alpharex USA they side I have warranty but they don’t replace for me , they side the original seller with process for me but the original seller said alpharex USA need replacement for me ! I don’t understand who with give me warranty??
Thats between you and the place you bought it from. The store needs to accept the warranty and give you a new one in return. Then they take the broken headlights and deal with AlphaRex.
