This was a tournament game with a 30 day limit, meaning that whoever has more properties after that day will win, assuming the game doesn’t end before that. I think Profeta was right to resign when he did since there was no realistic way for him to capture enough properties to win before the day limit at that point. Being down 12K income per turn and having a lot of his army value invested in fighters and the cruiser, I was effectively even further ahead in terms of unit count and army value than the raw numbers would indicate. The battleship was built to a large degree because of the day limit on this game, since the battleship makes it very difficult for Profeta to ever recapture the harbor and the nearby city that I took from him. As a bonus it also makes it harder for him to defend his lab, since the battleship can lock down two of his cities and prevent him from using them for defensive terrain/repairs. The battleship also covered my topmost b-copter, so it actually accomplished quite a few things. As soon as I got ahead on properties I was effectively in a winning position because of the day limit. I was honestly perfectly fine with just sitting back and stalling the game out, since at that point it was really Profeta who needed to do something if he didn’t want to just lose the game. I think Profeta had the right idea of trying to sack some of his units into me to get enough charge for his Typhoon, since Max’s units do become a lot weaker at 8HP compared to when they are at full health, but unfortunately for him I was able to find a very nice attack with my Super before that could come to fruition. The fight from day 20 onwards is actually a lot tougher for Profeta than it might look at first glance, since he needs to not only find a way to win the fight but also win it fast enough to have time to then push forward and capture some of my properties on the back of it. Meanwhile I can always choose to just take a scorched earth approach and prioritize killing off or damaging his infantry/mechs if the fight ever turns against me, since I don't need to win the fight, I just have to prevent/delay those property captures from happening. Another thing that I'm also getting from this is that a stall-like global damage CO just really isn't the play on a map and ruleset such as this. He has to hold back while you act aggressive and take properties.
How many times has Mangs won a victory by time (or opponent resigned due to time) when the opponent would have had at least a 1 out of 6000 chances of coming back if the only loss conditions were HQ capture or route? Actually the answer may be "not many" since because of stupid comm towers every unit feels more fragile and the first strike advantage is larger. Ok, how many matches do you think could still be contested without the time limit if the comm towers simply went poof and got replaced by properties that provided vision and no income or attack boost? I feel like sometimes his opponent surrendered when there would have been a shot without a time limit.

At the end there Incuggarch didn't pop Max Blast, he popped Max Force even though he did have enough for his super power. I think that was a strong factor in Profeta resigning early since a push there would hand a Max Blast to Incuggarch and not pushing the attack would just be death by economy.
Yeah! Not to mention the FIRST time he used his power, he ALSO used Max Force instead. It's incredible how well he managed his meter so that he still had enough to pop Max Blast when he needed it the most! ^^

You say Profeta has the value advantage at the end, but really, no, that’s just on paper. 68000 of that value was in Drake fighters against an opponent with one 2hp battle copter, and another 18000 was in a trapped cruiser. I have to agree with your assessment. combat useful units really are 2 megas and 1 neo. max is halfway to another power drake has an empty bar. the only 'useless' max unit is the battleship which has strong zoning power

Not even just in cities, for that matter, even just the congregation places where we eat said sausages, waffles and ice creams. Addendum: I think we basically switch fireworks for the parades.
America has a lot of parades, too. Even small towns with around 2,000 pop. in the middle of nowhere tend to have Independence Day parades. It seems like maybe the parade composition is a bit different in Norway, though? US parades are organized around “floats” put together by local organizations and community groups. Norwegian parades seem to have more individuals waving flags. Am I right in thinking that?
That was a very explosive match. There was a lot of back and forth between players because of how well they both used their Powers. The thing that stood out to me from Incuggarch, however was that he didn't just use Max Blast only. He used Max Force in his first push, so that he could have some meter leftover so he could use Max Blast the next time he needed to use a power. Same thing for that third time, he used Max Force instead. He managed his meter super well to keep the ball rolling against Profeta's Typhoons. I'll also have to remember this map, because I think it's interesting to have a High Funds map that locks one of each players' bases into making infantry/mechs till they get a Lander for their bigger units.
I feel like the resign was the fact there was another Max Force right around the corner, and that most definitely would've done Profeta in, especially with THE WALL

21:51 Hilarious how Profeta's cruiser is suddenly preventing a interrupt of the capture from the battle copter. The unit that was made to prevent Incuggarch from getting the harbour ended up helping him get it, and generally offered great protection for Incuggarch's naval units. Cheeky move
I mean that is a strong indicator of high level play in many games, and even real war. Rushing in too soon without the proper prep/intel can spell doom and in war can lead to uneeded casualties. Keep in mind that first push had one single goal. 10 days of prep wasn't even to win the game it was to win the harbor.

Stuff like if missions are changed, dialogue, unit matchups, lenience on ranking in Campaign, the introduction of casual mode and the changes it makes. Stuff like that. I know you already made a video showing how Flak is identical to before, but there are so many fascinating questions that come out of a remake that it's leaving me hungry for information surrounding the differences, if there are many to include. Profeta's value is all illusory - he way overbuilt fighters in response to the max bombers and I think the movement on that extra cruiser was a tremendous blunder.

I used to play dual strike a lot when i was younger, so I was happy to discover your channel recently, and discover (again) advance wars I wanted to give a try to the game again so i checked awbw, and saw that there is a ton of games started days or even weeks ago and still going. Are all games like that or can I expect to play some "normal" games ? AWBW is in a weird situation where it's AW2 with AWDS's new units, COs and property (Com Tower) plopped in. COs that changed between the games (Most obviously Jess, but also Max, Eagle, Sonja, Sensei), and game mechanics (CO powers all give an 10% damage). Nowadays AWBW suffers from Jenga code where devs don't want to change *anything* for fear of breaking stuff.

max Bship isnt something to meme actually and it's still a very strong unit. only losing 20% of it's range (from 2-6 to 5-6). max rocket is also usable since it can ward off non-grit artillery (with 33% range losing). it's just max artillery that is unusable with a whopping half range nerfed

Profeta's value is all illusory - he way overbuilt fighters in response to the max bombers and I think the movement on that extra cruiser was a tremendous blunder.
Sometimes I forget that sir Mangs is Norwegian for his American-Like accent. I'm Filipino and I'm kind of slightly used to hearing American accents on a regular basis more than other English speaking countries, like UK (yes I get the meme/humor/joke/fact that UK English is true English lol) so, yeah~

"American-like accent." Bruh. As an American, I have never met an American who did the "th=d" thing, lol. You pretty much only ever hear that from north-continental European accents. Mangs' Norwegian accent doesn't do it as much as, say, a Dutch one, but it still crops up occasionally.

Hey Mangs ! I used to play dual strike a lot when i was younger, so I was happy to discover your channel recently, and discover (again) advance wars
I wanted to give a try to the game again so i checked awbw, and saw that there is a ton of games started days or even weeks ago and still going. Are all games like that or can I expect to play some "normal" games ?
Otherwise, great content man, I mainly watched replays of pvp streams and commentaries on online games like this one for now, and I like it a lot
we once visited friends in dokka, one of them did au pair on a norwegian dairy farm. and they had some traditional food, where they put different fat like butter and cream and others together with all kinds of cereals to create a very fatty and nutritive slime. they ate that when they went for cutting wood in the winters, so that their bodies get all the energy they need. do you know about this?

Would you mind elaborating on this? It's possible you've explained it in one of your prior videos, but I'm unaware of any justification for AWBW using the AW2 cruisers when they have Dual Strike COs and units.
Don't know about DS, but in DoR cruisers could attack other ships with medium damage.
AWBW is in a weird situation where it's AW2 with AWDS's new units, COs and property (Com Tower) plopped in. COs that changed between the games (Most obviously Jess, but also Max, Eagle, Sonja, Sensei), and game mechanics (CO powers all give an 10% damage). Nowadays AWBW suffers from Jenga code where devs don't want to change *anything* for fear of breaking stuff.

max Bship isnt something to meme actually and it's still a very strong unit. only losing 20% of it's range (from 2-6 to 5-6). max rocket is also usable since it can ward off non-grit artillery (with 33% range losing). it's just max artillery that is unusable with a whopping half range nerfed
