This is a bad idea. Too many shady people out there. I’m not doing it.
It is dangerous to say that you will bring the delivery into a home of anyone, elderly or not. Just because there is an elderly person there doesn’t mean there wont be someone else there more able to hurt you.
As dashers, we dont know who the individual is that we are delivering to. It is not worth the risk. We dont know what they look like or their backround. All we have is a name on a screen.
She's presenting your program that she knows nothing about because it hasn't been offered in the area and she doesn't have the full information so I wouldn't even listen until it's presented. From doordash if it sounds bad then don't do it
Does that apply for if you order a fridge or couch washer dryer you know they bring that stuff inside just saying
Absolutely I agree with you, I didn’t even know such a service existed. Well, this is terrible, Dordash is getting worse and worse, soon we have to not only come to the house also feed them for these couple of dollars and also clean up after them... Bravo Dordash, you take care of your workers like slaves.
And don’t forget that many people don’t leave tips, so all this for a couple of dollars
And this one In Texas
Grocery delivery driver says she was dragged into customer’s home, assaulted
“I try not to have contact with the customers. I just leave it at the doorstep, knock on the door, go get back in my car and leave,” she said.
Blanchard’s order included alcohol, so Meghan had to meet her in person to scan her ID.
“It was actually a woman, wrapped in a towel, and she was hysterically crying. She said, ‘I’m so glad you’re here. You have saved my life; can I have a hug?’” the delivery driver said.
Meghan said she felt sorry for the woman and gave her a hug.
“As I hugged her, that’s when she dragged me into the home, got me by my wrists and in a position that I was unable to get away from her,” she said. “She pulled me all the way through the back of the house and took me into her bedroom. She was hitting me in the back of my head with her fists, she was pulling out my hair, she was choking me.”
Meghan was able to get a free hand and call 911. That’s when she said Blanchard grabbed her phone and threw it across the room. Eventually, she was able to get free.
“I ran through the house towards the front door. As I got there, there was about five or six deadbolts on the door that were all locked. So I got to about the third one and got them unlocked and she caught back up to me and got back on my back,” Meghan said.
Police say they responded to the call around 11:50 a.m. Andy Erbaugh with Tyler police said when officers arrived on the scene, they could hear yelling from inside the residence and upon entry found Blanchard on top of the victim.
Meghan said she’s sharing her story to remind other delivery drivers to be careful.
You talk too much lol
You should look into making creepy pasta videos.😉
I wear a body cam. I document every delivery on film.
Also I NEVER enter a customers home. EVER Only an idiot would do that in 2024
Only a fool thinks everyone is a predator. Only a fool thinks that way.
Who said anything about predator ? Many people are liers and will take advantage of others for their own benefit. Not sure what planet you live on.
I only been inside the home twice doing ubereats in the last 2 years. Both were Walmart orders. I could have easily taken the customer's since they were elderly both times so they weren't much of a threat for me 😁😁😁😁. 2nd time both couples were injured so they needed someone to put the groceries on the table. Think I got over $30 for that order. I don't really care to go inside because they could always shoot me and say I was a burglar. Might have to start wearing a camera(not my phone) to film myself doing deliveries for doordash to show I didn't steal anything.
@@AzulQueso_Only a fool doesn’t protect themselves. Google UberEats Delivery Driver murdered in Holiday, FL. You’re welcome.
With all the human trafficking going on, it is a big no no to me.
I think it's a terrible idea because the society we currently live in.
I don’t go into apts or houses
One of the many reasons why I stopped driving for that company. Crap pay and now this? Solid NO.
Nope never customers all ready lie about not receiving their food, don't take that chance! You will end up with legal problems before you know it.
good point they could accuse you of stealing something inside the house too. NO WAY. not doing it.
You said if you get hurt outside of customer's house that's on us...not really that's why everyone needs homeowner insurance. If you fall or get bite we have a right to sue for damages.
Absolutely not. Elderly people have asked me to put groceries in their home and I say absolutely not. It’s a huge liability and safety issue. I’ll slide them in your house in your front door but I won’t step foot in a strangers house. If anything happens they can report you or if God forbid someone else is in there you can get hurt. I will never. A lady got really upset and mad at me for saying I could not enter her house for safety and liability issues. She even gave me a negative review. Her grown sons were in there 6’2 with muscles. Why she needed me a woman to put it in her house and then got offended I wouldn’t is mind boggling. I politely slid them in her door and left. She was PISSED and gave me a nasty review. People like to treat us like slaves for the bare minimum if they could get us to put it in their fridge and cook the food and serve it to them for less they would. Unbelievable the entitlement. I can’t get over she had multiple big strong men and teenagers and kids around her and asked me to come in her house. Like what kind of behavior and morals she’s teaching them.
If this comes to my market and I am required to do this, I will quit DD, immediately. I think this is a terrible idea all the way around. DD will have no responsibility/liability in it. And the very fact that they are testing this out makes me seriously question DD as a company. 😲🙄😒😡
I think some customers will lie and say "That driver stole my _______ it was sitting right there in my living room" so that's gonna lead to all types of nonsense
Bad things. customer can lie and say you damaged something inside home or accidentally let a pet out and get blamed
Kidnappers everywhere: "They fell for the $3 trick🤣"
Walmart spark customers ask me quite often can you bring it in my house to the kitchen or table or couch in their living room. I have done it but its always been for elderly people, I dont know how Id feel if a younger person asked me to do that. I also didnt want my tip taken away if I didnt bring it in, door dash they cant take the tip away so thats good at least. I carry pepper spray on me whenever I deliver but its still a chance your taking going into customers homes. Personally I wouldnt want a stranger/delivery person stepping foot in my home but hey thats just me lol 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
People are lazy, I get older people but someone needs to educate them 😭😞
Absolutely not!!! I have taken groceries into an apt/ home only with Walmart Spark and it was only at the request of the customer once I arrived and was always either an elderly person or a woman who had chronic pain and could not lift the items herself. I always weighed the situation and my safety. I would not blindly accept to take an order into a person's home not assessing the situation first. You have so many valid points and exactly why I would not do cash on delivery either. This feels very much like Walmart in-home delivery without being an actual employee of the company. So many things could go wrong and I'm sure WILL go wrong with this.
I do Walmart Spark and we aren’t allowed to go into the customers house per the Spark Term of Service. For DoorDash wanting us to do this is crazy.
I understand wanting to help people, but honestly a lot of trafficing victims are lured in by elderly, women, and children. Please remember that Evil does not have one face. Your life is worth more than 3 dollars! Same for customers... you do not know who you are inviting in your house. Please consider asking a neighbor or someone you know before trusting a stranger... it is already scary enough hearing about drivers who dont enter premises being robbed, assaulted, and shot. Stay safe out there everyone!
nope-ity -nope-nope... not even to a senior residency. i hope it's something you get to opt out of so I don't get dinged for declining... even then, nope.
im just about to start doing door dash and had no idea about this. thank you for posting. i do NOT want to be inside anyones residence. hell no. too risky.
Solid no. nope.
ya lately i been getting a lot of low paying deliveries and i even got soke contract violations cause customers started compalining about not getting their food so i stopped dashing cause low pays no tips and complains about not recieving the food no thx L.A suvks now days aint worth the pay for what we dashers have to go thru
what if your customer was 7ft 7inches and his nickname was El Gigante and he was a bad guy
It’s the fake accounts that are running rampant in Southern California I hate it I start my dash at 6am . I stay away from the places that I know have way to many fake drivers
I always bring it in the house especially for handicap and older people ... I ask first though
really stupid idea. next thing you know the customer is telling you to put the lotion in the basket before it gets the hose again.
Yep
Funny but EXACTLLY!!! There are weirdos out there!!
It comes down to the drivers instinct and experience in this safety situation. Supposedly DoorDash is cracking down on drivers now more than ever.
Not gonna lie, my first thought was
1. Stairs
My second thought was
2. Stairs
If DD wants me to start bringing items into someone's house they had better be ready. I am a female and close to 50. I also live in an open carry state. They had better be ready for me to not only be armed but to have my 85lb GSD at my side for the delivery.
D. T. A.
Don't trust anyone
Sad but true.
There's no positive for us doing that. First of all I don't want a customer to ask me to put the groceries in the fridge as well, or stack them in a pantry, and if I don't do it or do it in a way they didn't like they will give me a bad rating, or like you say something happens, you get sexually harassed or accused of stealing. There's no positive specially because the pay is crap and we're not even employees. We all should refuse this and make them drop this requirement
Hey Lady , I can see your disdain for this new situation . Granted , there are those of us who already do this and there have been times when I did and felt good about it . I'm not saying that it's perfectly alright for everyone , in every area . I'm just saying anyone has a right to turn this down .
If a dasher doesn't feel safe doing something then don't do it That being said , have a great night .
6 items, 5 miles, $40, liquor store.
Hell yeah👍
It’s 6 cases of Budweiser to an old folks home. Wheelchairs, respirators, bored old folks everywhere. I haul it to his room (nobody even glanced at me) put it in his kitchen turn around and hands me a $20 and thanked me.
I’m 60 y/o and was HAPPY to do it for far less. That was that man’s months supply of beer to deal with the boredom. I was a brief fresh face and a new smile to him.
I also take some offers for a local food bank. Those hit different ❤️
NO. I’m not taking orders going into a home! NOPE!
Hell, I feel bad even taking the picture each time, seems creepy and invasive to me.
Safety 1st
Always!
You also have to realize, we're doing this to survive. This is our job many times, and we're no out to do charity, we can do charity in our own time after work, but I can't be spending extra time for $3 to stack someone's food. They can get their spouse, son or nurse to do it, but sometimes I've encountered very old people who actually need the help, I do it even without them asking me, but I don't want Doordash requiring me to do that for weird or lazy people
I do feel its a good idea. And i feel its no different then having the electrician, plumber etc come to your house, and who stay a lot longer, then a simple 1 to 5 minute drop off.
I've brought things in but didn't get paid more.
This is the first that I am hearing about this. To protect us the driver we should all be wearing body cams. It’s not 100% fool proof but it can be an extra layer of protection for us drivers.
Kim had UMD on her Tuesday night show, and this topic came up. From what I thought I heard, with these orders, declining them wouldn't affect ones A/P rating. The concensus was, "wasn't worth the risk." Question arose, what if the customer made the claim that the driver stole something while in their house.
Calling a plumber to your house is dangerous lol
I feel creeped out going into an apartment building that's inclosed to an door let alone going in there house.
I didn't know anything about this until I just watched your video. Absolutely not! And I had the same thought about cash on delivery orders. Do not do them and never have.
never....you should never risk your life for a couple extra dollars....NO!
Too much liability
This hit Massachusetts 2-3 months ago for extra $3 but I don't wanna be chopped up like the Uber eats guy in Florida a couple years ago
Exactly
The fake accounts thats coming over here STARVING gonna have a field day with them delieveries
I rember when the rule was you couldn't step one foot inside customers house.
Can we see that request before we accept the order? I'm not doing it. I already don't do alcohol orders because I've had 2 scary situations and both were alcohol deliveries with uber, it's too much time at the door. I drop and go. That's it.
I don’t care if the pay is a lot. I ain’t doing grocery deliveries, I don’t want to go inside your home. I just wanna drop off at the door and leave. I don’t even wanna talk to customers.
First thought was heck no. Second one was I sure hope they let us know so we can decline it.
I don't think it's a corporations job to keep people safe it's the responsibility of the individual
That's why I will be declining these In-home orders 💯
I wouldn’t do it if I was a woman. I have done this on occasion with an elderly or handicapped person. But I’m starting to reconsider it
What if they have signal blockers and you can't call out
Uber and doordash earnings reports for the 2nd q is near.
Over the last 5 days those stocks on the stock market are down about 5.5% and 7.5%
Absolutely way to many fake accounts, i have been asked to come into the house once I did it but it felt really really weird
Nope. I've done it for people in a wheelchair or elderly but it's at my own option and choice. Plus I have a body cam. I've had grown women and men ask to and I said no.
Absolutely NOT .. what about those homes that a scary and junk all over the yard and when you go to the door the smell is so bad you have to hold your breath till you drop package and get back to your car !! I can't imagine entering that house ..
If you do this you need to be filming the whole delivery, pickup, check to verify food, like everything. No gaps in footage so you can show proof you took nothing. Crazy we have to cover our butts, be prepared for anything is my rule
Shipt does this. But most people are sketchy af.
I'm not going to do this. I cut up my shopping card 2 weeks ago.😂
DoorDash is smoking crack! I quit doing shop and delivery. It never paid enough in my market to begin with.
I wonder if they are doing this to try to compete with Walmart's in home delivery service.
i had to go inside a customers house once. she was disabled and was in a recliner. that was different
I even hear people renting Uber eats and DoorDash accounts
Absolutely not doing this red flags going off everywhere with this updated 😮
Had an elderly woman in a bathrobe ask me to bring her groceries inside her apartment and made a joke about not wanting to scare me as she tightened up her robe. It was awkward and hilarious.
Is there a way to opt out of this type of delivery? If not, does it tell you on the offer screen that you will be asked to take the items inside? I don't see how they could force a dasher to do this if they didn't want to do this type of service. It sounds like it's optional if a dasher is going to be paid an extra $3. I guess if this is the case, I would say that it is a decision that is up to the dasher. Risk v reward? Not paying enough for the risk imo.
This is just not worth it. And I’m wondering if the driver has the option of opting out of these kinds of deliveries because the risk is just too great.
This is not a good idea but some drivers will do this service. Door Dash should have a minimum tip requirement for these orders. No tippers and low tippers should not have access to this option.
Also, there should be a go live button so the interaction can be recorded and monitored by ADT. That way both the diver and customer will be protected.
This is insane
DOORTRASH doesn't care about drivers!!!! why don't they raise base pay
Hopefully they have as something that you can opt out of!!
Do you know before you accept the order that it's an in-house delivery?
I agree with you
Woman should be able to opt out.
Definitely will not be participating in this one. I’m trying to be there for my family
We’re DD’s guinea pigs.
SARA DASH
It is dangerous for you as well to the customers, now days Dash is aware
And they are doing nothing with the illegal migrants with no background
Using fake accounts I wouldn’t personally let them coming in to my house
And you sweet angel Sara, don’t do that for your own safe
Lol...knew you would have a bouncy explanation
I have been doing dd for 4 years I was a premium dasher had no thumbs down 4.99 rating 99 100 then on Sunday 07/21/23 night I suddenly get deactivated for no apparent reason I did everything by the book’s followed all dd bullshit policy got paid below poverty not even making minimum wage ppl at Disney make $17 an hour but I’m actually glad door dash got rid of me cause I was about ready to tell actually I did tell the ppl at door dash to suck it deleted the app and carried on be sure they don’t do you wrong oh and the gun shootings I have been hearing door dash doesn’t care about the families they have broken either
Your super flipping gorgeous ! Omg 😍
Doordash is putting the drivers and the customer's safety at risk. Doordash is flooding the market with all kinds of people and not thoroughly doing background checks. For me Im just going to decline shop n pay orders. I don't know who's house I'm going into.
Evil as hell. They letting the you know who in on their apps the S Q U A T T E R S this is straight up wicked.
Judgement day coming
also theres racist people on all sides that start screaming and accusing someone of hitting them when they didnt!!
the thing is these copies need to do different things to keep it new in some areas uber is over taking doodah big time and uber is dead so they are give endless 25 to 50% discounts on orders and in other areas uber is out pacing door dash they need to add something to make them stand out and I think delivering into the house is a great way maybe what they need is a way to have customer verified in need of in home delivery .
I see many on you tube whio deliver grocery right in the house costumer take part of the order the delivery person carry's the rest now yeah it can be damergious or it could mean better costomrer relations bigger tips more profits ..
dangerous!!
I only brought in groceries for 3 people. One older lady who had her foot broken or something was wrong with it. Then another guy. This older lady in a wheel chair. That was on Uber Eats on safeway deliveries. I didn't mind bringing them in. Never thought twice about it actually.
With DoorDash your family member can see where you are all the time my daughter will go on there and see where I am
That’s not true. Not sure why you would spread misinformation like this but it’s irresponsible to say this to new Dashers that don’t know better.
@@Kenichi2566 it’s true in Wisconsin they asked if I wanted someone to be able to see my location I entered my daughter and she can see my location while I’m on the app
My husband can track me while im doordashing. I set it up on there. @Kenichi2566
🔨
There's plus and minus on that situation
Get a bodycam
dash with your husband once in awhile
I think you use your common sense. Use discretion.
Gig delivery is about over sara let's look around.
Fast food delivery is overpriced. Restaurants are dealing with drivers stealing food and/or delivering partial orders. Restaurants are also dealing with customer complaints of food arriving cold because the food is ready and the drivers are not picking the food up cause the driver isn't going to accept a $2.00 delivery going 5 miles. Restaurants are getting fed up with Uber and doordash. It's not 2019 anymore
Fast food delivery Customers are dealing with drivers who's cars don't match the account dealing with drivers genders and names that don't match and in some cases are even wearing masks and hoodies to hide their identity
Shop and Pay
Has the plexiglass cages and bicycle locked goods experience hit your market yet at the drug stores and the target stores etc.?
Customers are not going to shop brick and mortar stores waiting for an associate to unlock each and every item they wish to purchase so initially this work will be farmed out to Uber and doordash however that's just a temporary solution.
How long before the gig shoppers stop doing shop and pays because of the time it takes waiting for the store associate to unlock stuff i.e. number of items vs pay?
Customers are shifting to on line Amazon purchasing.
While one may feel well that's a good thing as it will require more delivery drivers the number of delivery drivers out there already oversaturate many markets so no.
As the fast food and brick and mortar stores shut down those.employess getting let go will turn to doing gig driver jobs along with all the so called "new neighbors " let into the country.
It's a downward spiral.Race to the bottom.
The big chain stores forced all the local mom and pop businesses out if business and now we are watching on line retailers like Amazon force all the brick and mortar chains out of business.
Just look around
Is this real?? Like they don't care about you guys... Now a days if you walk into someone's home, you will get shot ... Like how stupid they gotta be for 3$ extra more?? Go to McDonald's damn.... Stupidest laziness unsafety thing I've ever heard.... Good luck...
Ok so hot your adt button. I have seriously hit it before. Hit it and run into a bedroom or something act like your in a horror movie.
I had to hit it once cause I was assaulted on a alchohol delivery. My phone went into emergency mode. Boone could call me or text me except police. And they sent 2 or 3 cars and were there in less than 5 minutes. I mean quick. I was asked if I was in a safe place to talk by adt. My GPS was triggered. It's no joke that button. It is faster than 911.
But I get your situation. You don't like dark places, apartments, going places you're not sure of so probably not good for you. I have personally delivered food for doordash in Cleveland and in Akron so it doesn't phase me. Majority of people are suspicious of you as you are of them. Just act cool and chill and not like a Chihuahua shaking and barking. But that's me. I'm trusting.
Sarah you single ?
Another conspiracy theory
This is true because there's a bunch of gig tubers saying the same thing about this the program hasn't even gone out in their area and then they making comments about it before it's even presented to them so I'm not going to listen to their crap plus I was self-employed for 16 years cleaning homes.
Like the Russian Collusion hoax, the Covid lab leak theory, Rlacement theory, and the Hunter Biden laptop cover up that all turned out to be true?
