Honestly, I don't believe in these. Humans change every time.

I keep taking the 16 personalities test and it keeps flip flopping between INFJ and INFP. As I have gotten older I get INFJ more and more often.
Only 6 of these qualities ring true for me. The 2 that don't fit to me are the competitiveness and the "all or nothing" qualities.
I am extremely cooperative by nature where I try harder when I have a team around me but when I do stuff for my own benefit alone I don't care to win.
And the "all or nothing" is also untrue. I can be indecisive. I do not like committing to things and I generally won't choose anything that has a "point of no return" tied to it. I like having backup plans too much to be "all or nothing".
I am starting to realize that this 16 personalities thing is a good introspection exercise but should not be taken as a definitive description of who we are. People and their personalities are more diverse than just the 16 "discovered" personalities.
I understand this completely, all my life.. I often got told that I have a serious or angry look on my face and they ask me is everything alright. And when people make jokes - and I don't find it super hilarious they say "I was just joking" as if I took it badly, when really I understood and found it only mildly funny. I consider myself a laid back, mild mannered person that doesn't get angry easily but my friends think that I have a lot of bottled up anger just waiting to explode one day.. I don't bother explaining it nowadays whatever

Omg same, particularly on the last part. A lot of people in my family think that I have so much bottled anger that’ll explode one day. But like, I truly don’t. I don’t get angry that often and when I do I just take a couple hours or days to process it and then I’m fine. It’s very strange. I wonder if they’re projecting onto me.

Yep. INFP/INFJ here. I’ve always been told I’m intimidating. I usually don’t speak much to my colleagues at work besides necessary congeniality, but I overheard a conversation I felt I had to interject in. I shared a personal experience to illustrate my point, and immediately after a coworker who hasn’t warmed up to me spoke to me as if I was a friend. Interesting!
Remain silent... and watch people get defensive.

I feel so understood by just reading all the comments under these videos, we are rare but we are not alone! Just feels good to know this, it felt like im an alien my entire life before finally understanding who i am and why i am like this with like 30 years old. We have power but also a huge constant struggle at the same time. With getting older you learn to use it better and thus struggle less but Its still a curse and a blessing.

I believe most of us have been scapegoated since childhood. Character are innate, personalities are subjected to many things, especially to their environment and upbringing.

This was well done. From my perspective watching other creators putting out content like this, you've done a better job capturing nuances of what would occupy an INFJ's mind. Good luck with getting your content out there! To be honest I had assumed from the thumbnails and channel name the narrator would be TTS, so it was a pleasant surprise to hear a voice.
I would say that when I was growing up I felt the need to suppress a lot of the traits listed here. I was a very unhealthy INFJ. I would hide my thoughts and saw myself as rather arrogant, filled with convictions, but unwilling to bring down anyone around me, wearing many masks to fill all roles. I noticed subtleties in behaviours and actions others would not, but I believed it was a burden on others to share what I perceived to be the 'truth'. I would hide talent and often play dumb to get through conversations, regularly severing connections before before people clued in. I didn't want to scratch that itch and try to understand people and eventually fuck relationships up with what I believed to be neuroticism, and I didn't want to appear standoffish. Always amenable, always distant.
I've got a much healthier relationship with the truth and allowing myself to be a person that enriches myself and others. Radical honesty and long overdue self-acceptance helped tremendously.

Growing up, I always thought I wasn’t competitive mainly bc I was picked last in elementary PE, which led to me not playing sports. When I was around 30, I realized that I’m extremely competitive, I just keep it on the DL. Doing it openly completely changes everything and weakens me greatly. I don’t like attention bc it throws me off by giving me an added dimension of distraction.
Understandable
The recycling piece hits home for me. I decided when I was four I'd never trash the environment; 30 years later, I've yet to drop one single article of trash on the ground. I go out of my way to recycle and was rather upset after learning the recycling bin at work just went into general refuse at the end of the day.
I wish more people could say this, we need more people like you.

I just found out about this INFJ personality trait a week ago. My friends call me an Empath. I was in a bar some time ago and the bar tender was laughing and doing her job perfectly. I called her over to me and said, " What's bothering you? " She Said, " how can you tell." I told her I could always tell if someone was laughing to hide tears. He boyfriend for the passed 10 years had just broken up with her.
Years ago I used to go to this pool hall. I would go to the owner and tell him he needed to pay more attention to the crowd in that place because trouble was coming. The forth time I told him that he said he was tired of me telling him that because every time I did I would leave and then all hell would break loose. I told him the Mexicans that were shooting pool were about to through down. He asked me if I spoke Spanish. I stuggle with English but I know tension was high where they were all playing pool. I left and those guys had a strait up head busting brawl afterwards and caused $13,000 in damage and he had to shut the place down.
I struggle having good conversations with others because I'm a very deep thinker and don't care for meaningless small talk. I see passed what everyone else seems to think about what's going on in the world and in my country. Seems like no one else gets it. Like we're about to go through some really bad times and I'm not looking forward to it. I don't want to rage off into a tangent but there's an investment firm called BlackRock that has controlling shares in every single thing we consume in the world. Thats the problem, not the politics that are just a front to keep us confused. I just don't think the people in office are going to have enough power to change any of the crazy things that are going on in the country and the world.
It bothers me that I can't be around a group of people without drinking because it's about the only way I can put myself in a state of mind to tolerate the way others seem to think. I wasn't in danger of being the valedictorian when I graduated high school. It's hard for me to fathom how little most people really know about what's really going on all around them. The things that are in my head that I know to be 100% true are things I can't talk to anybody about. Everyone thinks I'm crazy. Everyone else is so worried about there favorite sports teem or athlete. I couldn't care any less about that if I tried. This trait may be rare but its a lonely trait to have. My Dad was the same way. His views on this world and where it was heading were spot on. He's been passed on almost 16 years now and a lot of things he told me were going to happen to this country 30 years ago have already happened and some seem to be on the way. In some ways it's a burden to know things most people can't begin to wrap there pinto bean brains around but its a blessing at the same time. I just can't understand why it's so bamn neer impossible for most people to think deeply. It's like there fine just wading around in the shallows. I have to swim out way passed the breakers. Who just wants to get there feet wet? Seems like about 98% of the population. My experience with this personality trait is loneliness and I'm not a mean person either. I just can't understand why most people from my perspective seem to be so damn shallow. They can't see the forest for the trees. I was thinking outside of the box before it was a term.

Hey...yes agree it can be lonely. But there are people out there who will appreciate you and your thinking. Maybe expand your group of friends to ones with similar interests to you...not sports? I like to observe if I join a new group of people...just to know if I can see myself there or not. If not...that's okay too. All the best and don't lose heart. A senior Infj from Australia 🙂
@@KD-uh8zw At the moment I'm a Stranger in a Strange Land. I live an hour away from where I grew up and lived 95% of my life. My mom got Alzheimer's and Dementia and I had to sell her house and all the land when it got so bad she had to be put in a nursing home. I've always been a Backwoods kind of person and now I'm living in a third floor apartment. I don't know anyone where I live. I've been here about a month and a half now and if I want to hang around anyone at all I have to drive an hour to do so. I stopped at that sports bar yesterday because it's the only place I know of around here. People don't speak unless they know you and I don't fit in around yuppies. I'm not going to try to be something I'm not. I just got drunk and now I'll regret that. My head feels like somebody hit me with a hammer and I'm 52 years old. I thought I outgrew this 15 years ago. It's just not the best time for a person to be sociable in a world that's been through all the things this world's been through in the last few years. I got off of social media so I don't hear anything from anyone. I can count all my friends on one hand the rest are just acquaintances. I'm surviving but I'm not experiencing much joy. The first two weeks after I moved here I hardly got out of bed. I'm getting up and doing things now but I'm completely alone. My dad used to preach to me about how lucky I was to have a family and that a lot of people didn't have no one to turn to when things got hard. Now I'm that person. It sucks!

Being able to see where society is going and almost never being wrong about it definitely leads to loneliness. I’ve had to give up so many relationships because of the blinders most folks wear. Or at least unwillingness to even self analyze beliefs.

My late wife and I would talk about the conversations of which we partook at a party. The differences in what we heard were very different. She listened to what people didn’t say, while I listened to what they said. For example: Me - Well Bob and Jenny seem to be doing very well. Their family seems fine as well. Her - They are having problems with their daughter, Jennie. Did you notice they never once talked about Jennie? Turns out Jennie had a drug problem no one outside the family knew about. I’m and INTJ and it was very eerie to me, but we were a very good fit.

theres 2 things i dislike about being an introvert, one is that when i show skills or things that not many know i had (even family) they normally assume its because im "getting out of my shell" or because i followed their advice of "stop being shy", they would say things like "its good to see you learning new things and to see you're being more confident" the second thing i hate is that whenever i want to be social and joke arround many think im doing it to fit in or that im pretending to be someone im not, i think most people just see it that way because they like to study people and know their patterns, they like predictability in order for them to clasify you, when they dont find that in you they feel akward
Totally understand where you're coming from. I think that many people think they know how to read others but in reality they don't. Or at least not very well.
It seems to me that as I get older I am picking my battles more and more. Which can be pretty funny at times when I am seeing somebody about to wreck themselves, and I know for a fact that they ain't going to listen to me so I just sit back and watch it happen.
Spiteful? Maybe.
Entertaining? Most definitely.
I was always brought up to be truthful, above all else. I worry now each time I speak as my view of the truth seems to easily upset other people, even though I try endlessly hard to say things in aay that won't upset them. Then again, it seems like the ability of other people to misinterperate just about everything I say knows no bounds, so often I say nothing which comes accross as being unconfident, but I just don't want to have to deal with other people's insecurity if I upset them.

I'm definitely an Empath and the more I hear about INFJ's I think I have the majority of the things that define one. Throw in a major case of adult untreated ADHD and you have one heck of a weird time managing them. Edit: After reading some of the comments I now understand why I was successful as a bouncer and why my step son, a convicted felon, was intimidated by my silence and "the look" I could give people.
Not true at all. I have adhd. I love having adhd. Its a true super power and benefit verus a hindrance.

Most of this was right for me. Only part that wasnt was I thrived in the military. I loved the structure and regimented lifestyle

We try not to let empathy dictate our opinions, but it does dictate our motivation. So we know that feelings alone are not a reason to make a hasty decision, but we will try to find the long but correct way around to fix bad things-I hope that makes sense and helps explain. I say that just to say: we appreciate and accept your offer of working together 😁

INFJ here we can definitely read people we constantly process information , body language etc we try to make sense of everything from our curiosity. I think coming across anything more intelligent than you is creepy whether its a human or a robot you can find insecurities in people which is the most fun for our enemies that don't like us. :)

Like an introvert, there are times where I just want to be alone and enjoy the things I like alone, I don't go out with people and to places I know I won't enjoy, being forced is a bother to me, but that doesn't mean I don't want company all the time. I am a wild, almost no holds barred party animal. I go out to places and meetup with people I like or are comfortable with. I'm a cross between a nerdy type of guy and a joyful thrill seeking person.
People who I know are extroverted end up being the ones who look introverted or just conscious or aloof in party settings.
@@marcross52-95 Dude, same. I may be slightly awkward in unfamiliar settings, but if I'm in a company of friends who I know well, oh, I'm gonna bask in all their attention and we're gonna have a lot of fun. If I'm in a party mood that is and don't overthink about other tasks that need my attention.

This is so crazy. My niece had me do that 16 and me test a week ago and It said I was a INJF and now I cant get away from all the INJF videos on TH-cam. I am a total skeptic when it comes to stuff like this, however I must admit, it did hit on a lot of my personal traits. It was right on about 85% of it. But there were some that did not match at all.

How do we know this isn't just another horoscope type of bs that works on everyone? I mean, I took the test and got infj but if I had gotten another one, I'd probably eat it up. Why is everyone taking this as facts?
Right! I think it’s pretty good at separating out groups of personalities, but it isn’t perfect, and people can be in one personality type and still have or not have traits that others do. I’ve taken the test several times and all but one got INFJ while everyone else I know who has done it has not gotten the same. So I don’t believe it is so inaccurate that people are lumped into totally incorrect groups, but it isn’t a hard and fast rule to base your life on.
Another genius, thinks the world is still flat, do ya? Suppose your IQ test is just them stupid number things that don't even do nuffin, hah. You'll shot nuf show them ther Dr. People a learning thing or twoo.

Just one example here. But i was operating a piece of machinery for a third party company doing railroad maintenance. Long story short, we had to work with some actual railroad employees. Different ones depending on the area we worked. So i chatted up with this one guy so there wasnt an awkward silence cause even though i prefer not talking most of the time, if i feel forced to in a situation like that then i will. So we talked about blah blah blah. And in this conversation he had mentioend something about him having a dog. Somehow i just immedately knew what type of dog he had. Mostly basing it off his personality and anything he had told me thus far. And no, he never said what type of do it was during mid conversation. So i said..... "hey is your dog a Weiner breed by chance?". He was shook and dumbfounded at how i could possibly know that. We had never met before 5 or 10 minutes before that. All i could tell him was it was just a feeling i had.
I've had several rando encounters like this. Most people act freaked out even though they try their best to hide that feeling from me. But i can read that as well. But it's hilarious too! 🤣
But to me it's more about being a Libra sun with Scoprio moon. As that is where this infj mumbo comes from in the first place. Your birth natal charts.

Do any other INFJs have a problem with authority figures? It's not really the person I have a problem with its that feeling of superiority that the person projects. Not all authority figures just the ones that love their titles too much.
