Went down the Japanese rock/metal rabbit hole and have enjoyed the ride. So many bands I like are all female. Any idea why Japan cultivates so many all female rock/metal bands compared to other countries I've seen? Just curious.
My personal opinion is that many Japanese grow up being classically trained in music. There are so many classical orchestras one can play with. Metal music is the closest to classical music than any other genre. More opportunities in metal music than classical. Just look at how violins are used in metal/rock music in Japan.
