Socialism has become such a dirty word in America. Do you think we could trick everyone if we relabeled it a one person one vote democratic administration? With strict regulations preventing corporations from influencing elected administrators and preventing former elected administrators from financial gain due to policies they enacted while elected. Throw in a well protected recall option accessible to the voters... maybe compulsory committee service for citizens comparable to jury duty (that pays enough for people to happily contribute). Ah, daydreams of engaged citizens participating in a true democracy.
Those who would vote to end poverty are he same people benefiting from it. It is against their motives. Is it a coincidence that almost all of our representatives are millionaires? How the hell is a millionaire supposed to represent the average American with a 50k salary trying to survive in a 2k/month apartment with kids?

@@sedg03 this is such a simple and effective solution that I have seen stated many times. The problem is you would have to get a representatives to vote against their own interests to make this happen. This is the result of money controlling politics. Our representatives should have the same exact healthcare as anyone else. They should be paid minimum wage. They should be barred from investing AT ALL. but, again, they would have to vote for this change themselves...
Exactly 💯, if YOU WORK, you should be able to be paid enough to LIVE. Otherwise, what's the point. You shouldn't qualify for food stamps if you have a job! 😐
@@dianegreen1937 70% of people who receive food stamps work full time. That number makes me really sad for our country. The taxpayers are subsidizing the greed of the corporations that don't pay living wages. That's the whole reason these people are on welfare while working.
My life is made small. I'm a disabled nurse and the slum Lord at the mobile home park breaks so many rules and threatens to throw home owners out of their own homes for complaining about his violations. Violations regarding setbacks. His office trailer is less than 8 inches. Probably less. I'm tiny and cannot get through to see the back of my mobile for any damages. Utilities are not accessible on their properties.
Wrong this country is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, big bank vs little bank, capitalism dosen't work if there is no bottom class, so if you or any other coward that just want to type about it, how about make yourself available to help the ppl that want to fight against these corrupt politicians and corporations that we let run this country to do what they were put into office for
Material wealth means nothing when you are delusional and corrupt. You're just a rich lost person, mass consuming like the small ones. Just another consumer for the system.
That sounds like a limerick or a nursery rhyme. For a country with money and power, those who most beat the post, and continue to scream for more atop their ivory tower. For continuing the cycle, no matter the libel, Will constantly suppress a revival. For revolting barbarity in shameless hypocrisy America reigns without a rival. For us it is bid, for humanity to begin, a factor of our survival.
@@Left-Blank China has what I like to call honest tyranny. They're not afraid to beat your ass in public for breaking the law and they'll fully admit to it. We may not have reeducation camps, but that's because they don't need to make people dumb down to their ideologies on purpose, they can just make an education system that's so hard to succeed and and is so inherently shitty that people just don't want to go to school or don't make it in the first place. So the only thing they can do is listen to whatever is told to them because they can't be successful in a traditional scholastic and informational environment. Do they listen to what the government tells them, and influencers and people who talk a lot of big game but I've never won a day in their lives fair and square like they expect us to. So when you tell me go live in China for a little while. I could tell you to live in a poor inner city in America, or try to buy a car with a job that doesn't require you to go to school for half a decade of your life. I can guarantee you the middle class worker in China is the exact same as the person in America, just one of them is really good and has been taught very well how to bullshit themselves from the moment they could literally wipe their own ass. Barted with information that is gearing them towards buying product and selling their bodies and pumping chemically laced food into their systems. That's why I call it honest tyranny. People know life sucks and they admit that it sucks, and the government is kind of reassuring in a way by being predictable. The ludicrissy of supposedly confident elected officials in the United States is completely identical and familiar with the problems that I am talking about. We currently have a senile president, an admitted tax cheat I called out the other card sharks before him, and we have someone who went against his campaign promises just like everyone else before him and really had a thing for bombing poor people across the world. And then we have a president before that who 50% of the population thinks he's a absolute dip fuck and the other half believes they were responsible for orchestrating 9/11. The same catastrophic event where the passports completely survived the fall even though everybody including the plane was completely vaporized upon impact. I could go on but what's the point. There's a high likelihood that you're not going to read all of this and I'm just speaking into thin air. But I'm just banking on the fact that this isn't the kind of response that you would have expected. It's going to be changing. And if it isn't going to be someone else it might as well be me.
Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. These results include effects on the markets, such as price declines and sharp increases in inflation, as well as bank failures. I wonder if the sudden increase in interest rates will help value investors or if it would be wiser to stay away from the stock and financial markets for the time being.
To "buy the dip" It will be profitable in the long run. However, investors should be wary of the bull run. It is advisable to connect with a skilled adviser to fulfill your growth objectives and prevent mistakes. High interest rates typically result in lower stock prices.
I truly enjoy having a portfolio coach to help me make market judgments on a daily basis. They possess a special combination of abilities that enable them to take both long and short positions, benefiting from the possibility of significant gains while also safeguarding against downward turns. I have had a portfolio coach for more than two years and throughout that time I've actually earned over $645k. It was a wonderful experience!
*@shirleygarland4766* I've been thinking about going that route. I have a lot of stocks that I have maintained, but they are beginning to lose value, so I'm not sure if I should hold onto them or sell them. I feel hiring your investment coach would make it easier to restructure my portfolio.
Do your homework and choose one that has strategies to help your portfolio grow consistently and steadily. ‘’Camille Alicia Garcia” is responsible for the success of my portfolio, and I believe she possesses the qualifications and expertise to meet your goals.

It needs to be illegal for those in government & representatives to accept lobbying money, of any kind from anyone or "gifts" **eye roll** it's shocking that it's already not. It only leads them to do the wrong thing.
Exactly!!! Money from lobbyists and so-called "gifts" are nothing but legal bribes, and they have, and continue to, make a mockery, a farce, a joke, of our government as being representatives and voices for the citizens. Even as s more centrist conservative I agree with this.
IMO Churches need to start paying taxes. Especially now that they are involved in government policy. The wealthiest need to start paying their fair share.
God, that is so true! It didn’t occur to me that since church/religion is SO wrapped up in politics now they should pay taxes! Of course! That makes absolute sense!! Could it be done? Is it doable?
The wealthiest pay almost all of the income and property taxes (per the annual IRS individual taxpayer statistics and OECD reports). It's that the people are intentionally miseducated and distracted from understanding what actually influences how the priorities are set and how resources are allocated. I think we need transparent political financing to know how much money is being spent on political interests, and in some cases, by whom. It would be interesting to know, for example, that we refuse to develop and spend on usable education, but federal agencies are spending on govt contracts to massive tech companies who harvest user attention to sell to advertisers while keeping the public distracted from the trillions in spending that is never clearly explained
No they should just not be involved in government policy. We don't tax churches for the same reason nonprofits and charities aren't taxed. Churches are not businesses and do a lot to provide charities for one's community. Taxing them would give them less resources to provide their community their services. Tax the rich who make their wealth off the work of others not churches whose money comes from everyday donors from the community.
As a culture, we prioritize the wrong things. We worship athletes for god given talents but give no notice to those who strive to improve their minds or situations. We decry behaviors in the street that we demand for entertainment. It’s not about the money. It’s about the human heart.
It's a European settlers culture and traditions. And they brought it here It's theirs (who they are, how they think). But Europe was also conquered by this before north America colonization. During European inquisition.
The thing is that Democracy Now defended this massive spending on homes as of 2020 and didn't critique it. Do you know how much was spent on mortgage backed securities every month and for how long? Probably not bc Democracy Now didn't talk about it. And who owns most houses and what was the effect of that? That they are massively up in price and even the last idiot on the block has finally realized that nobody who is not rich can afford them anymore.
poverty is BIG business and floats the capitalists...think subsidies to big business that could rebuild Mississippi Louisiana ...😢 mental health education
Hmm, you don’t think the exporting of all those manufacturing jobs out off the country didn’t have anything to do with it. Many of which were entry level type jobs but still paid a decent wage.
Yeah but people have been brainwashed, too. You expect cheap food and clothes. Stonks only go up. And somehow, it takes more and more work to keep up with all the new fees and taxes.... Don't think about it... Just keep scrolling....
This is what I like to refer to as the American caste system. Everything is based on our literal monetary value and if you can't produce then you must suffer.
That is a class system not a caste system. Caste means you cannot leave leave that status. A class system means you can. Your idea is correct your vocabulary is not. Agreed language is the first step to critical communication. This is why changes to language is important.
That’s how every society in the history of nature has ever worked. Those who didn’t benefit the society were kicked to the curb. Parasites are bad. That being said. The government does a lot more harm than good in causing and encouraging poverty. Such as with lack of school choice(which disproportionately helps poor families). Horrible zoning laws that have enforced a car dependency in America. Horrible housing policies which have encourage single family housing and caused multiple economic bubbles. While recessions are a natural(ish) part of the business cycle, the government has an outsized influence on the scale of these problems. The last 2 big bubbles, the .com bubble and the 2007 housing bubble were both outwardly influenced by artificially low interest rates, imposed by the federal reserve. It’s time to get the government out of the way such that actual peoples demands can be fulfilled
As long as one believes that the solution to the very problem is found within the very entity that they're complaining about, one will forever be at the mercy of the problem without ever recognizing it as the problem.
Blame the corporation who make the decision to takes those job away from you and bring to China. Those corporation's greed of more profit and not patriotic to the US citizens should be condemned.
Why, why, why? Because the business class and government sent all of our production out of this country, now we make nothing, and therefore make no money. Stupid.
I wish I made enough money to be considered just poor. I already can’t afford to live and if they find out I even have that much, they will tax it out of me to pay for the last tax break they gave to the billionaires
Poverty is the Mother of all crimes. Most people don't give a fuck and tend to look down on people in poverty. Give it a couple of years and we will all know what it feels like to be poor.
Unfortunately, a lot of deviation in Western countries is caused by the difficult financial situation. As a result, many young people turn to drugs and crimes, and there are women who are forced to practice prostitution for money. This is unfortunate, and this is one of the negatives of the capitalist system. Wealth is concentrated in the hands of ten percent, and the rest suffer.
Capitalism has problems, but the US system is only superficially based in free markets. The economy is heavily controlled (think interest rates, tariffs, financial market rules, enforcement of laws, etc), the central bank's ownership is not transparent, and there is a merger between corporate interests and unchecked government power (think campaign finance rules, lobbying, lucrative government contracts, etc) It's that there is no major incentive to stop the cycle of stealing, lying, and hiding, then you're right to believe it will result in individuals retiring to desperate measures.
Brilliant!!! It sounds anti capitalist but there should be a limit to how many houses someone can own. Poor people cannot compete against the venture capital types who invest in driving up the rent.

"Poverty, deprivation and misery are the school of bad government" ― P.W.

Americans are extremely well educated but now Bachelor and Master Degree citizens are entering homelessness because companies refuse to hire for solid livable wages! Greed is destroying humanity!
Poverty is due to poor choices not bc of the wealthy. When you live in a free country then you are responsible for your freedom and the choices you make good or bad. There is a direct correlation to how responsible a person is and their level of poverty or wealth financially. You can’t give ppl the freedom to make their own decisions then absolve them of facing the consequences of their poor choices. The world doesn’t work that way.
Good explanation if it were true. Truth is, by design poverty in the land of plenty is purposely imposed on the bottom rung and middle class who are not aware of what's causing their misfortune and struggles. The fed slams the brakes on the poor everytime an opening appears to cause even minor prosperity.
Cheap labor. We designed it this way. Low paying jobs are intended to be transitional, but we starved the population of education and they can’t move up. It’s the fear of class change. You can’t dilute it or directly shift it without pissing people off. Class won’t save us from what’s coming. 😢
Why child poverty instead of just poverty…it feels open ending like that opens up a discussion to have children work more or what? It’s like saying people deserve a raise but let’s give them a raise little by little so when. They get all of it they are still struggling instead of a substantial raise one time that can sustain their cost of living. Wages vs Executive compensation is at a historic tragedy.
I wish you would tell this to Anne Case and Angus whoever, who wrote a book in 2003 extolling capitalism. Now they wrote "Deaths of Despair," in which they discover that capitalism isn't working for the people.
Not enough Americans voting to stop the endless wars, so they get what they did or did not vote for. Maybe one day the masses will either wake up or simply stop being so ignorant and start voting for peace and prosperity.
The "two party" system is just bread and circus. An elaborite farce designed so that 'peace and prosperity' are never on the ballot. The lion is scary, so pick the red clown or the blue clown to do something about it, but the ring leaders stay in charge.
fascism 2.0 is a bipartisan, generational effort. The rest is (mostly) theater. austerity isn't just about wealth either. Control is worth more than everything else combined.
It's the result of capitalism running wild, and the fact that we haven't had a minimum wage increase and almost 15 years...for starters. We still have people getting paid $7.25 an hour. There are probably people in China who get paid more than that working in sweatshops. But we also have billion-dollar corporations who do not pay their fair share of taxes, some of them get tax breaks to the point where they pay almost no taxes at all. that's the reason why the United States has places like China looking to buy up property here. Edit: I just checked, they get paid about $4 an hour, or about $700 a month of they work 40 hours a week in China, but their rent is between $300, and $700 a month...meanwhile, here in the states we get $7.25 an hour, or about $1,240 a month, and the average rent is $2,300.
No, it's the result of liberal Democrat policies. When during the Trump administration the 1/5th of wage earners had their incomes rise the fastest of all groups. That was the first time that had happened since the George W Bush administration. Because both Trump and W. used Kennedy's theory of using lower taxes, less immigration, deregulation, and smaller government to tighten up the labor market. Which raises wages, allows mobility, allows for advancement, and gives people dignity. Compare that to the Democrat policies of using high taxes, over regulation, open immigration, and big government to put permanent slack into the labor market. Which drives down wages and drives up housing prices at the same time, to the point tens of millions of people don't have any money left over at the end of the month. And it's the low wages at the bottom that allows the excesses at the top, causing the wealth gap. Raising the bottom 1/5th of wage earners wealth relative to everyone else is something liberals will never be able to do because of their policies. The fact that it is conservative policies that help poor and lower income people is backed up by the IRS data. "Filers who earned $50,000 to $100,000 received a tax break of about 15 percent to 17 percent, and those earning $100,000 to $500,000 in adjusted gross income saw their personal income taxes cut by around 11 percent to 13 percent. By comparison, no income group with an AGI of at least $500,000 received an average tax cut exceeding 9 percent, and the average tax cut for brackets starting at $1 million was less than 6 percent. (For more detailed data, see my table published here.) That means most middle-income and working-class earners enjoyed a tax cut that was at least double the size of tax cuts received by households earning $1 million or more. What’s more, IRS data shows earners in higher income brackets contributed a bigger slice of the total income tax revenue pie following the passage of the tax reform law than they had in the previous year. In fact, every income bracket with filers earning $200,000 or more increased its tax burden in 2018 compared to 2017, and every income bracket with a top limit lower than $200,000 paid a smaller proportion of the total personal tax revenue collected. That means that Republicans’ tax reform law resulted in the tax code becoming slightly more progressive - the exact opposite of what Democrats have claimed over the past four years. The IRS data further shows that the tax reform law - which included a variety of business tax cuts, including a large reduction in the corporate income tax rate - spurred economic mobility. Every income bracket with a top level lower than $25,000 experienced a reduction in its number of filers, and every income bracket above $25,000 increased in size, with the biggest gains occurring in the brackets with a floor of at least $100,000. The fact is, Republicans’ 2017 tax reform law did exactly what was promised: It lowered taxes for all income groups, provided the greatest benefits for middle-income households, and spurred economic growth that helped reduce poverty and improve prosperity."
I’ve been poor my whole life. My parents were poor, I grew up homeless because of it and have seen more death and violence between the years of 9-15 than most will experience in a lifetime. I’ve lived in cars and crack houses, I’ve been abused and assaulted and kicked down time and time again. I’m an adult now, searching for a third job just to make ends meet hoping for the day I can go to college when my finances allow it. Life is hard. Like really really hard and sometimes I’m not able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Three jobs? And I’m still eating spaghetti for every meal? When does it end? Sometimes I fear that I will be poor forever. I don’t want an abundance of wealth or a mansion. I just want to live without the tremendous guilt that comes along with it for how much money it costs me.
Wrong policy of inequality of wealth distrubution. The rich and priviledges will continue to grow their wealth whilst the poor continue getting poorers

At this point many people are already aware. What's the solution that can make those that have more give more so there's a more fair and equitable distribution of wealth: monetary and resources? That's all we need to be talking about and enforcing right now. Right Now.
Are you asking that rich people should give more willingly or are you asking that someone must enforce that rich people give more? The former is charity and the later is communism. Neither one is particularly a good system to establish, especially by force. There is one fundamental concept most people don’t realize about human nature generally, and that is each of us needs something to work towards. We were created in the Garden of Eden to work. Each of us must find something we can do to be creative and to work. The New Testament is very clear, “he who does not work, does not eat.” It is also clear that widows and orphans be cared for by the Church. There’s a lot more I can say about this topic but I will stop now.
@@musictheoryforeveryone7938, I'm saying the conversation needs to be about solutions. Not the problem. The problem has been talked to death as far as I'm concerned. After that workable solutions should be put into place. However, I don't believe this conversation should last years. It just seems like to me all people want to do collectively is open their mouths, close their ears, and wring their hands. Meanwhile, many people continue to suffer. Note: I am NOT talking about what one person can do to make things better. I'm talking about a collective societal change/shift. I also grew up in the Christian faith reading the Bible and it says a lot about the evils of greed, selfishness, serving two masters, and being double minded. Like you, I won't go into all of that. Yet, it does bring up a thought. Supposedly this country was founded on God and Christian principles and so many today claim that for themselves. Yet, the proof of that is hardly ever evident in mass and because of that I hesitate to bring it up. God and religion nowadays is just used as a shield for double talk and bad behavior.
@@ayemiksenoj5254 Dear Ayemik! Thanks for writing to me and furthering this discussion. There is a little know piece of history about the Pilgrims when they arrived at Plymouth Rock. In their first year, being a Christian group fleeing persecution that decided that they would all share together their provisions and property in one community. Well, they almost starved to death because everyone was counting on their neighbors to take care of things, when in fact nobody was doing much of anything. The next year, they decided to give everyone a section of land and said grow as much as you can for yourselves and anything extra, you can sell it to your neighbors. Needless to say, this worked much better and here we are 400 years later talking about it. This mind set has always been the American mind set. You are correct to say this country was founded on Christian principles and values, where people went to church, read and studied the Bible, prayed individually and corporately. People don’t know this either but after the Capitol building was completed after the Civil War of 1861-65, church groups would hold worship services in the two chambers of Congress on Sundays. There is a painting in the Capitol’s Rotunda of The Baptism of Pocahontas. Yes! Can you believe it! It’s still there. This world system is coming to an end. The Second Coming of Christ is so close, it is only a matter of days, months or a few more years at best. I can go through the Bible and show you the Signs of Times that we are in the Last Days. This world system has rejected God and His holy righteousness in a wholesale fashion. With gay liberation, transgender transvestites influencing our children in public libraries, the US Government spending 31 Trillion dollars on credit, Biden and family getting millions from the Chinese, prayer and Bible reading removed from public schools in 1963 forced by an atheist Madelyn Murray O’Hare, the long decline of morals since the days of the Roaring 1920’s when everyone rejected Prohibition and everyone demanded their alcohol, and on I can go. There is a large majority of people in the USA who have totally rejected God, the Bible and Jesus Christ. They like to blame those who are Christians for being hypocrites but that is more of an excuse so they can do what they want to do. God’s judgment is coming upon this world very soon. The prophecy of Matthew 24 and 25 is upon us even now. The separation of the Sheep, those who follow the Lord will go to the RIGHT and to eternal life. Those who rejected the Lord, the goats, will go to the LEFT to eternal destruction. Oddly enough, the Goat has become in recent centuries the symbol for Satanic worship. Currently, in Boston this April 29-30, there is a national convention held by the Temple of Satan, and it is sold out! Our movies and entertainment is so vile with zombies, demons, witches ruling modern entertainment, is it any wonder why God’s blessings are being withheld from us. You might think economic poverty is our greatest problem, but I assure you, it is the spiritual rot and decay of this population that leads to this current state of affairs. I would also state the Democratic Party is the leading cause for this decay and rot in the American morals and decline in education. Prepare for Christ’s Return now before it is too late for you and maybe your family. Jesus said as in the Days of Noah and in the Days of Lot, so will be the Coming of the Son of Man- Jesus Christ. Both Noah and his family of seven, and Lot and only his two daughters survived the violent wrath of God upon their world system. Noah survived the catastrophic world wide Flood. Lot survived the complete destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, where the homosexuals ruled these cities to the point where even the Lord’s Angels were not safe from them. What will God say about this world system in light of His previous judgments?
I could not have said it better. We already know that the scales of justice and shared wealth are tipped unfairly . What are some solutions we have known the problems but how to fix them . I haven't heard a single idea that gives plausible solutions . We know the problems exist It's hard not to. But how do we fix it .
Just please don’t advocate a slave trade governing institution like the MED of Colorado! We need real compassionate individuals to guide states through the process of monetizing a sacred resource. Maria Sabina Magdalena Garcia warned westerners of the difficulty extracting the mystical essence into synthesized patented medicines. Cannabis genetics have been so diluted that a lot of the benefits of cannabis are lost in commercial production and leaning towards becoming endangered in its natural landrace profile!

It would pay plenty if the government wasn't taking a fat chunk to send overseas or give to their buddies. Keep voting (D) though, dumbarsses.

You are so correct on what's happening in the USA regarding poverty. The gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen.
Yes taxing Churches for housing homeless and the migrants!!

The economy is heavily controlled (think interest rates, tariffs, financial market rules, enforcement of laws, etc), the central bank's ownership is not transparent, and there is a merger between corporate interests and unchecked government power (think campaign finance rules, lobbying, lucrative government contracts, etc)
It's that there is no major incentive to stop the cycle of stealing, lying, and hiding, then you're right to believe it will result in individuals retiring to desperate measures.

Trickle down has failed
Good explanation if it were true. Truth is, by design poverty in the land of plenty is purposely imposed on the bottom rung and middle class who are not aware of what's causing their misfortune and struggles. Hi from New Zealand 🇳🇿 😊
So is America poverty the result of its wealth?
(For more detailed data, see my table published here.)
That means most middle-income and working-class earners enjoyed a tax cut that was at least double the size of tax cuts received by households earning $1 million or more.

Right Now.
Socialism, anarchism.

Now ,what are we going to do about it? Feel free to answer that question.
thank you for saying iup front
Just change the system
found it! well done you, you found it,,,, they need to look also
Where the wealth is,that's where the filth and trash is.where it's poor,America is still nice, usually 😮
Such a twisting of reality.
