I had a great time choreographing this music video, it was lovely to work with Katie again, we filmed it in Germany 🇩🇪 I audition the dancers two days before the shooting day, I love working with this dancers, they learn my style and choreography in one day only. For me, this song is something I will never forget about. It was playing on the radio the day my mom left me when I was 10 years old. She came back eventually but I can’t listen to this song even 14 years later. I was lying on the ground, crying, as she walked over me and Katie Melua was singing about a happy place on a radio… what a pity, because it would’ve been a beautiful song. I agree, there seems to be a deeper meaning here. I've heard a child trauma victim explain to me how she compartmentalized her experiences in drawers and went to happier places. Then when she had to face the trauma again, she took it out of the drawer. It seemed like the video portrays something along those lines.

I used to listen to this song like 10 years ago when it came out and I would dream of a happy place now listening to the song again after 10 years I believe I have finally found my very unhappy place (uuuh ahhhh)
