I tried one of these today. The gap between the panes was very small and the metal bar part jammed the two together requiring a lot of force to open them. Ended up chucking it in the bin
Where to place in glass showcase up , middle or down ? I mean which is the correct position for it. Another issue with this lock it keep moving up and down after installing it .

I have a cat and she is very curious about our corn snake but because he had an exo terra tank it has a lock, however we are getting a vicarious for the ball python. The cat really doesn’t care about our bearded so we don’t need a lock on her but I am going to get one just in case.

+Josh_ Wright some of the vivexotic enclosures come with a lock hole in the glass. For those you will need to get the specified vivexotic lock. You can see it in my "preventing escapes" video
I have a bit of a problem. see, I have a vivarium with acrylic doors and the overlap of the acrylic is not good at all. 1/16th an inch actually. is there any way I can modify the lock myself or find a better lock for such a tiny overlap?
You can buy mini versions of this lock that work well with a small overlap. I think Komodo make a decent one. Or you can stick with glass wedges, they work really well too
So I broke one of these locks and my boss wants me to fix it. Any ideas? All the pieces are still here and I was able to fit the "teeth" and springs back in. Theres grooves in the main lock and I dont know how to put it back together without the individual pieces flying about. Thanks guys!
It’s incredibly tight, always worth checking regularly but it never loosened in the years I used it. Switch to rubber stoppers now though, because it’s just so much easier
It's really tight, you definitely need fingers to take it off. Plus, it's always good to check locks frequently just in case, so you'd be able to tell if it was looser

+Star Pit does it feel really tight? What kind of viv is it? Some of mine are a little tough so I need to push the front lip up a little to get the glass out

Oh those vivs are a pain, the glass is so close together. Can't use traditional locks with them, so you need to use wedges instead

Yeah, super wise to get a lock. My cat shows a lot of interest in the snakes. But the snakes can also open the unlocked glass with ease 😂

So you'd have to measure the width of the glass overlap and get a lock that exactly matches it lol?
No, you can slide the lock to any point, so the overlap can be bigger or smaller

It might not be the right type of lock for your enclosure. Perhaps try wedges instead

Yes they’re very secure. I use them for all of my snakes

I bought a pro rep viv lock and it's just straight without a groove. Can't install it despite it claiming to be for sliding glass doors :(
When the glass is tight, it can be so difficult to find a lock that fits well. Sometimes just using the wedges is better

If you have a snake, I’d recommend a lock. I’ve watched mine happily push the doors open without one
