i enjoy seeing your smile of conquest and satisfaction when you know you have nailed it. also envy you your music room in the tree tops..must add to the freedom shown in your presentations. thanks
Awesome! Love your personal flair, your interpretation! Not just playing the notes on the page, but truly inspirational & emotive playing! Lecuona would give you standing ovation, I'm sure!
Al-Maghina is a painful wound, and no one can feel it except for the one who suffers from those wounds, and it will remain eternal music transmitted through those interested in music forever.🌍
Classical Pianist here. Thank you for not just playing the notes but also thank you for keeping the integrity of the composition. I find that it is a travesty when musicians try to after perfection. Furthermore most people either play this too fast or slow but you have the right bear. This was the closest thing to the original I have heard on piano and that is impressive because we all know this is originally a composition for the guitar. I also took the liberty of subscribing please continue doing what you do.
First of all, the original is for piano, not guitar. And I doubt you ever heard Lecuona play it himself as he died before you were born, so you wouldn't know what the original sounded like. Secondly, this is played way too fast. It's a Malagueña, which is a kind of Fandango. A Fandango always starts slowly, and speeds up throughout the piece. He is playing it fast from the start. So in short: if you're a pianist, you're either not a professionally trained pianist, or you're a very bad one...
@@fluffytom82 there is at least 1 recording of Lecuona playing this piece, though it's not 100% faithful to the original (as with many of his recordings - I have always felt that he wrote music which was designed to be improvised and "played" with where possible). Completely in agreement though!
Brought back memories of my father playing this piece! It was the backdrop to my childhood, in a way. And if Dad wasn't playing it at the time, we kids would beg him to play it!
Very well played but he’s improvised a lot. Also, he missed playing an entire section. I know because I’ve been playing this piece sine I was 17 years old. I’m 68 now and still play it.
To say that it is amazing is to say nothing! Words are too weak to express my admiration! Thank You so much!
Love from Baku!

I was thinking the same about the room and tree tops 😃

Wasn't the original written for piano? Ernesto Lecuona was a pianist after all...
Very nice
What about the cut.?
And all the unnecessary extemporisation?

You are Amazing, Met You on Holland America and Bought 2 of Your Cd's!
Your hands fly on the piano! So skillful! We are playing this with 4 pianos and barely have more notes, just to say!!
YOU ARE AMAZING!
Maravilloso...👏👏👏👏👏👏
Loved this performance of Malaguena and nice smile at the end! Still trying to make out what name is on the piano...aged eyes unfortunately.
Kohler & Campbell...finally caught the name by stopping the video.
why does 1:58 sound so much like part of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody no 2
Maravillosa
Love this ❤
literally Great!
Awesome!
this needs more attention ngl
My students learning a version of this. Wish they could meet you! Las Vegas
I hope they are learning the original, this version has a horrible cut and dreadful improvisation over the recitative.
si,,lo maximo,Exelente
Finally someone without the need of unnecessery overreacting "artistic mimics" while playing piano. Great play, mate
Viva Malaga y su Malagueña!
Incredible
Idk why I am abscess with this part 2:29
You have talent
Bravo!
Genio!!!!!!!!!
*Standing ovation*
👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
☄️☄️☄️☄️☄️☄️❤️
Парнишка молодец классно играешь.
❤
Bravo
Super nice interpretation. Excellent audio and photography... but visual editing could have used a lot fewer quick cuts.
+John C agreed, camera man is doing way too much
John C its okay it is emaciated with his hair cut
Hey- Austin Hilscher recently learned this piece!
Ernesto lacuona was born in my town .
🙏🙏🙏🌹

Good job musikar
Fucking amazing
Охренительно
what's the name of this unique grand please ?!
Reuel "Malaguena"
Something & Campbell,,,,I think.
How.
Lecuona me hace recordar a Liszt a veces
Je je le da tiempo hasta para peinarse 😄
Brought back memories of my mother playing this piece.
My only criticism is the camera moving around too much, it took away from it somewhat.
Brought back memories of my father playing this piece! It was the backdrop to my childhood, in a way. And if Dad wasn't playing it at the time, we kids would beg him to play it!
Malagueña by I. Albeniz
Amor? No amor....
Trying hard to understand the mindset of who dislikes this & failing mesirably
It’s excessively changed and one section is cut.
Plus tempo keeps slowing as the technique fails.
Generally hacked to pieces.
It this even possible?
Very well played but he’s improvised a lot. Also, he missed playing an entire section. I know because I’ve been playing this piece sine I was 17 years old. I’m 68 now and still play it.
Totally agree with you, cut the 3rd section (intro, left hand melody,,,cut section)
I mean 8
Fabulous performance but I must admit to misreading your name and keep referring to it a Refuel Malaguena! :D
Um sir,
I think I preafer the original malaguena .
You skipt a big part of it
And in the malaguena the stacatot that you should do wer legato.
You skipped a big part of the piece
Haha no sir that's literally from the original sheet music for Ernesto Lecuona. Unless you mean another Malaguena version?
@@reuelofficial Yes, you have let a part just before the a la Capriccio...
That’s exactly what I wrote. He missed a big part.
WTF!?!!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??????????!!!!!!!!!! ....................... pretty cool :|
Librace played this with more flair tho
Librace had to. He was competent enough at playing the piano, but not particularly great. Another way to stand out was needed.
Performance, very good... Video, awful!
