@@animaterandomly6442 Yes. It's true. We're out here, scattered around the globe. The Lecuona's have a big family but no sense of self as the loss of Cuba as the homeland has separated us from our roots. It is great to hear others enjoy what we all listened to as children.
@@marklecuona8889 oh okay well just wanted to let you know that Malagueña us by far my favorite Lecuona piece and my favorite piece to play on piano. His music truly was a treasure
I played this piece for my recital when I was about 12. Now, as a person of a certain age, I wonder how I did it. I don't think I can play it now. This young man played it so beautifully!
I'm Cuban, as our inmortal Maestro Ernesto Leocuona Casado. I'm proud to see that Lecuona's music is being played by young talented pianists around the world. This performance of Malagueña by Joel Hastings is amazing. Thank you!
Thank you for your presentation and tribute to Ernesto Lecuona, one of our greatest Cuban musicians. I would love to see him share the stage with the most recognized exponent and close to Lecuona, Maestro Huberal Herrera. Thanks for your art !!! Bravo!!!. Lecuona is undoubtedly very happy about his presentation.
After going for so long with only hearing the name of this gorgeous piece, finally getting to hear it played...it's amazing. I have to say... love Hispanic classical piano music now, and I want to hear more.
It's composed by a Cuban. So nice to hear this great Cuban music so well performed by Joel especially when the Cuban people are taking to the streets for Freedom!
Nostalgia. Joel's tempo is close to being the same as my mothers. I loved to watch her fingers. Sometimes they would fly over the keys. At other times she would caress them.
There has been a cultural embargo in certain areas of USA. In that respect I'm glad I was exposed to European movies as a teenager to be able to do this strange mission I'm involved in now.
Ernesto is my great Uncle. Thank you for playing Malaguena and playing it so well.
No way bro really?

The best performance Joel. I played this 55 years ago and hope to play it again in two years when I’m 90.

Did Mr. Hastings make a CD with Malaguena on it?
The. Fucking. Master.
I know by being baptized where I was in Sept 20, or 25(?) 1975.
Very similar to Liberace's Interpretation
But I am not saying I Don't like it I think it is fantastic

A lot of Americans lack culture info and that's sad. At least the ones I've met in certain circles since 1973 when arrived to USA.
Nevertheless; I've never repented of having been baptized by immersion not by aspersion where I was baptized before.

Uhhhh....ok..ok..ok....!!!

This Malagueña is half passion, half pride. I hear this passion in this interpretation but not enough of the pride.
Agreed, nothing like Frank Fernandez...
А на сиденье-то - *каретная обивка*......
