The part where the roommate took advantage of Tyler's deteriorating mental health crisis to fill his head with paranoid delusions is the saddest bit for me. Also, all the warning signs about this character's mental health decline leading up to that were really unnerving. Really tragic story and character Conner impressively crafted here.
Maybe I've had some cool roommates too. Sometimes they break balls and tell the reality others won't dare because they aren't your real friends. I guess viewing this as a narrative and relating to Tyler Joseph was your way of taking this in. But thinking you know anything more than the main character of this piece would just make you a fool

Damn, even the Safdie bro's had a hand in this one. Brilliant stuff, as everyone has said. Love the way Connor seamlessly weaves a dramatic tapestry out of Eric Andre-esque prank-like stunts.
this reminds me too much of my year-long manic episode. i used to be very self-absorbed while thinking that i was just being positive. i would talk to everyone about my ideas while preaching "i'll get them done. i know a lot of people don't get things done but i will. im different. if you believe hard enough, you can do anything. i will get my own fandom." i sounded like an anime protagonist, and even in the moment i thought so, but i thought it was charming. ive never been told off for this behavior and nobody has ever said they've noticed, but i know how it affected my mental state. i know how i was. i would wear sunglasses indoors cuz i thought they made me look like a celebrity and whenever someone looked at me strangely id unironically think "theyre probably just weirded out by how beautiful i look." i had always been afraid of death because i wanted to do something great that everyone in the art world admired. even now i try to fully prepare for having fans of my art despite having less than 10 followers on all of my accounts after half a year of posting. but the idea that you can do anything if you believe hard enough is, unfortunately, not always a healthy idea to have. it can delude you. you shouldn't believe that you can do anything, you should simply believe that you can be happy. it is still something i have to learn myself on the off chance that my art never goes anywhere at all. you can keep trying, but you've gotta accept what you get and just have fun in the process. don't focus anymore on the result.

Just with this guy here sometimes i feel like he's just trying to be crazier than them and it's not always funny.

In a world carved in endless lies, if you’re not a “conspiracy theorist” at minimum, then you’re just another lost soul.
are you a sentient bumper sticker@@NewNormalWorldOrder
Lol, corny as hell@@NewNormalWorldOrder
The commitment and time investment required for this whole video to come to fruition is insane
dude. I'm just stuck. This is a whole OTHER level...
@@DeadGoomba i remember him posting the clip of him spraypainting the carpet red like maybe 3 months ago on his ig story
For real. It's wild to see how even his earlier videos like the outlet mall guy were like a prototype for this kind of subversive, tragic comedy. I don't even know how to describe Conner's stuff to someone who hasn't found it for themselves.
watching this feels like how I felt reading Dostoevsky
Been following this dude for years. This is like his thesis project
no joke thank you for all you do conner. the must take so much work and theres so much detail in every video and i hope you know that its appreciated. much love from a fellow whos line is it anyway head
8:27 You can tell he's truly at his breaking point in this scene. Look in the background at the McDonald's sign. He couldn't even muster the strength to go Burger King after his Grandma passed.

“The Stanley Kubrick of the selfie stick”
One of the hardest laugh I had in this for some reason was when they reeces shirt guy was later wearing a Hershey’s shirt😂 like this guy just loves chocolate clothes
They'll hand you a balloon filled with piss and shit then move on. A real friend sticks around to break your balls, the ones who don't you know. He is in the video.
@@Fart5353he definitely broke those balls
you edited your non-sequitur insanity screed lol@@Fart5353
Sadly, counter intelligence propaganda includes false conspiracy theories to rope people into too delegitimize any questions in opposition to gov and a nwo entities.
It's a 6th Gen information weapon.
Hmmmm you seem to be projecting a lot of feelings onto this character, remember art is subjective. You’re not recalling the plot, you’re only relating what you created from watching this. You and me and everyone else will never know what any of this was supposed to mean, if anything at all.
I guess viewing this as a narrative and relating to Tyler Joseph was your way of taking this in. But thinking you know anything more than the main character of this piece would just make you a fool
I feel like I’ve been wearing a mask my whole life trying to fit in as a normal average citizen who go to work, eat subway and watch two half men but not anymore, I’m like Mike Tyson of crypto and Commer thank you you and your words have made me who iam POWER

I …thought this was a real documentary about a comedian who went insane …
Bravo you are a legend seriously
Is it not??
Conners so freaking cool dude lol
I used to listen to your channel to pass out all the time. Now I see you everywhere in the comment sections of awesome creators. Just dope to know you have dope taste.
He really is one of YT's finest artists rn

OH WOW TWO DREAM WORLDS JUST CROSSED!!! JOEL PARADISE!
Damn, even the Safdie bro's had a hand in this one. Brilliant stuff, as everyone has said. Love the way Connor seamlessly weaves a dramatic tapestry out of Eric Andre-esque prank-like stunts.
literally CRUSHING a bottle of DISANI is such an incredibly unhinged detail in this video I can barely handle it...
This is art. Someone who understands what age were living in and making the best of it.
I have to know if John Mayer actually agreed to do this lmao
Well considering he’s married to Aidy Bryant from SNL I say it’s definitely a possibility 😂😂
Seems like something he'd be into tbh
not that this is definitive proof but john mayer is not following him on any social media so i'm gonna say probably not
Old John Mayer was friends with Connor but the guy we see in the video was yantianto John Mayer sadly…..
John Mayer was on Tim and Eric Nite Live wayyy back in the day so I imagine he may be familiar with comedians like Connor.
this reminds me too much of my year-long manic episode.
i used to be very self-absorbed while thinking that i was just being positive. i would talk to everyone about my ideas while preaching "i'll get them done. i know a lot of people don't get things done but i will. im different. if you believe hard enough, you can do anything. i will get my own fandom." i sounded like an anime protagonist, and even in the moment i thought so, but i thought it was charming. ive never been told off for this behavior and nobody has ever said they've noticed, but i know how it affected my mental state. i know how i was. i would wear sunglasses indoors cuz i thought they made me look like a celebrity and whenever someone looked at me strangely id unironically think "theyre probably just weirded out by how beautiful i look."
i had always been afraid of death because i wanted to do something great that everyone in the art world admired. even now i try to fully prepare for having fans of my art despite having less than 10 followers on all of my accounts after half a year of posting. but the idea that you can do anything if you believe hard enough is, unfortunately, not always a healthy idea to have. it can delude you. you shouldn't believe that you can do anything, you should simply believe that you can be happy. it is still something i have to learn myself on the off chance that my art never goes anywhere at all. you can keep trying, but you've gotta accept what you get and just have fun in the process. don't focus anymore on the result.
conner might be the world’s greatest selfie stick cinematographer
I feel so much for this character. I feel like I know multiple people whose entire lives are this way and it is heartbreaking.
Literally crying, and then howling at the Burger King chicken sandwich bit.
Heartbreakingly pathetic perhaps
@@ULTRAOutdoorsman
Yes, you certainly are.
@@ULTRAOutdoorsman what made say this ?
Connor O'Malley NEEDS to make a movie. This was absolutely incredible! I would love to see a feature length version of this; I swear there was more thought put in this video than entire seasons of some TV shows. This fucking genius is making shit thats beyond comedy at this point. I hope we see Tyler return soon
A24's gonna pick up the rights to this and turn it into a full on Miniseries.
he made one! its called "rap world" and its premiering at the LA film festival this year
This made me cry. I feel alone
This has immediately gone into my top 5 all time videos and I’ve been on this website since 2006
I believe Tyler Joseph is breaking new ground in comedy. Thank you for exposing the truth
Idk man it's like... Eric Andre and Andy Kaufman except trying to out-do them and push the envelope further even though they were already at the edge between funny and just insane. Performance comedy i guess. Matthew Silver doing that too. It's not super hilarious to me but it's interesting. Just with this guy here sometimes i feel like he's just trying to be crazier than them and it's not always funny.
Keep going. You are defining a generation.
That roommate character is so good. Totally nails the adults I would hang with and get drunk at 14/15. I thought they were so cool and now I can't imagine giving a 14 year old the drugs and drinks they would give us 😂
Dude, seriously. We were pretty cool kids though, and everyone was pretty much an equal at the skatepark. But damn did the older dudes get us fucked up back in the day. Good times.
@@arknarknothing about that is cool. you sound like you were one of those adults and you're just trying to cope 💀
@@dominicbofficial Nope I was a kid, now I'm a man. Whatsup with you?
This is probably the best movie I’ve seen of 2023 this man was literally living out a real life movie
The amount of depth and precision you put into your videos is insanely incredible. It’s so unnerving and creates this thing of mystery and what is real or not. You’re a legend.
This guy is a joke..😂 not in a good way
RIP Grandma she's in a better place now. Rest of the video SMOOOOKIN!
what a highlight of our modern culture, one done in the medium and everything. Masterly!
Alright, this is only the second Conner O'Malley video I've ever seen. The first one was earlier: Coreys'; oh man, what a fucking video. All I can say is from watching these 2 videos there is so much to unpack, so many layers, and the satire is used almost as well as South Park. Its like a modern day satirical psychedelic sketch comedy show. Dude, fuck yeah, bro.
holy shit how did he get the general guy to appear in this?
This is like genuinely heartfelt in a way
This is the greatest piece of comedy I have watched in a while.
i watched this whole thing not knowing it was a bit 💀 was intrigued the whole time tho. great piece of work
I would say this is your magnum opus, but everything you do is always getting better
Any time I see that Conner has uploaded a new video I'm filled with equal parts excitement and dread.
I had to come back to this video to say, the algorithm showed me this video a few days ago, and I watched it for the heck of it. I GENUINELY thought this was a real J Aubry-style case study on a guy that’s unwell. I’ve thought about it for days. Then today, I got the 103 fever video suggested and I was SO CONFUSED 😂 what a wild ride, I was totally fooled! 😂 happy to have found some great new comedy, subscribed!
This is the best one yet, genuinely moving but still has that trademark surreal/panic-inducing quality
Every time a Conner O’Malley video pops up I have to ask myself if I’m ready to be in that kinda headspace for several hours afterward.
Storytelling at its finest my man! Keep going! Standing along side the countless others here who want nothing but success for you!
I've been watching nothing but Connor O Malley videos for a little while now. And I'm starting to feel the changes.
What ratio of beneficial to detrimental changes have you experienced so far? Considering doing the same but I'm very cautious as my dog likes to say, and spy on me
This is genius. I loved this, the slow descent into madness, the whole character you've created, seriously this is a great short movie and I hope it will be presented in festivals. Really happy I discovered your work!
You're a pimp and a player and I love you
beautiful
just discovered the songs are made just for this masterpiece of social commentary
that’s crazy that is on another level
You are the master of oddly specific and extremely obscure yet somehow relatably hilarious jokes. That thing about watching captain America over and over when he get anxious spoke to me.
This is the best TH-cam video I’ve seen in my life
This is a masterpiece.
I love Tyler Joseph! Been following him since he was in open mics back in 2007!
he should come back to chicago more often!
Idk why but the "this could be Catherine zeta jones' car" line absolutely sent me 😂😂
Honestly one of the best short films of the year.
Bravo. No notes. Comedy of the darkest variety, where I can’t tell where fiction bleeds into reality.
I find that great comedy is often a peculiar way to tell a very real and universal tragedy. Conner is one of the best at it.
The commitment Conner puts into these is actually wild
The introduction of Tyler Joseph being his 211th daily upload going “FALL ANGELS! FALL ANGELS” in the middle of the woods with only 11 views made me incredibly sad
I'm making my whole family watch this Christmas morning
Connor this is … weirdly beautiful? I feel like just saying this is a sympathetic look at a conspiracy theorist is falling short of seeing what this really is. There’s a lot of you in this and it really shows. I would love to get into your head one day and interview you, your creative process fascinates me deeply. Keep up the awesomeness man
yes my heart hurts for tyler joseph
You're just trying to get some of his hair

This such a cool video. I love the idea of story telling via archived digital footprints made into a yt video because it's so real; it's like when the original Blaire Witch hit the world with the idea of found footage horror films
This is actually an incredible watch. Excellent, you really are a talented man Tyler Joseph, your grandma is watching this in heaven after her reruns of whose line is it anyway. Brilliant piece of video, idk how you make such chaos seem coherent. Truly one of a kind
I feel that this will go down as a modern day Jackson Pollack Rothko esque art piece that truly demands attention and respect. Conner 4 ever!!!
i can’t help but feel a hole in my heart and a sinking feeling in my stomach when the ending fades out. it’s so well done and you get very invested in his journey to make it.
This is art.
I don’t know why the algorithm showed me this but I definitely needed it
I just want to say you've defined a generation and keep on defining generations
This might be the highest effort video I've ever seen on TH-cam. Incredible

I couldn’t tell if this was fake or real - my favorite type of art.
I'm really happy for him that he found a friend he loves, and he's not so alone. As confused and lost as he is, that was a good use of that 40k.
