Her dad supported her ever since she was a trainee, they lived in a province so her dad had to take her to SM in Seoul, and back home so I knew how hard losing her dad was for her.

But, in her solo work she sticks to her comfort zone, focusing more on the music and message. Her craziest high notes are part of the Girls' Generation discography. Her voice is emotional yet insanely powerful. When she debuted back in 2007, a critic described her as having the voice of a woman who has been divorced 7 times. So, she's always had this incredible voice and she's just getting better each day.
The "real instrument" vibe is something Taeyeon does a lot with the thought it will be even better when she has a concert. All her concerts have the live band and she sounds even better live. Please check out her new song "Letter to Myself" it is pop rock. Or she released a live version of "Blur" from that album with some crazy high notes. It is great to see she continues to improve her singing abilities even though she is in her 17th year as a professional singer.

Girl's generation was at the height of their career when I was a kid and I had the honour of being a young girl and discovering their music. They genuinely impacted me so well because ALL of them are so talented and they took over the industry because of their raw talent. Taeyeon is one of the best singers in the world. I love her discography. May I also recommend checking out Solji from EXID. She is an incredible singer as well.
Just a side note on "Happy", she was supposed to release it on her birthday however it was delayed because her father died on that day too (her birthday). yeah

As much as I love Taeyeon's Killing Voice it really doesn't do justice to her vocals. You should check out her live clip for her new song Letter To Myself. She's also releasing a clip for Blur tomorrow. Her Top 12 Emotional Singing Video is another great one
